Sandy Relief Concert

It’s funny, I know a secondhand he-has-a-big-ego story about Bon Jovi as well, but it’s my suspicion that anyone living under the public lens can never be perfect enough. His music doesn’t work for me, but he seems like a really stand-up guy on the whole.

Eric Clapton looks and sounds great. Dude has aged well.

Evening will prove out, but I suspect that Sir Paul didn’t just have a bad night in London at the Opening Ceremonies. His pipes are shot. Harsh thing for a guy like him to have no voice left.

Eric sounds strong, so did Roger Waters. His voice has deepened some but sounded layered and good.

Wonder how Daltry sounds?

Might have to disagree with you here since I was about to post the opposite. I used to be a big fan, saw him live, but he’s sounding slow and homogenized to me now.

I think it’s ok for a blues rock god to be aged. But I don’t have memories of him as a younger, faster man. He sounded just as good on “Nobody Knows You…” as he did 20 years ago on “Unplugged.”

Completely fair point. Most of my memories are of a younger Clapton who played almost impatiently, occasionally behind the beat, but much more often ahead of it.

But it might just be me. I’m sitting here wishing the Stones would speed it up a little as well. Ronnie Wood on the dobro is certainly sweet as hell though.

I just love to watch Keef play.

Pretty smoking’ Jumpin’ Jack Flash.

My husband just now: Wow, Mick is as spry as a 60 year old!

Charlie Watts looks like a cute little old Yorkshire farmer that someone perched behind a set of drums. Like afterwards he’ll put his cap and wool coat on and go check the fences.

Alicia Keys boring the shit out of me.

Celebrate love with cellphones in the air?

Why Alicia didn’t she sing Empire State of Mind?

Steve’s having a hard time with the Graybeards. :stuck_out_tongue:

That was remarkably uncomfortable.

Pete Townshend is still my hero.

Gonna have to DVR the rest for tomorrow, so I can separate the music from the fundraiser parts. Good band and good music, but I still can’t watch video of what’s happened up the street without completely losing it…

Go Pete!

OMG Quadrophenia.

Yeah really…

but, Zombie Keith Moon…
