I just finished watching the newest Family Guy. At the end, Bryan remarks to Meg that she has a chance at one day finding love… that “it only takes one drunken mistake and refusal to do something that any sane woman would do”. He says that Meg would then “have” him for life.
This is an obvious reference to the entrapment of a man who gets drunk and knocks up some girl. This also implies that any “sane woman” would go with the obvious choice of having an abortion. Hence, any woman who would rather keep the child is not mentally stable.
Ha ha hahaha! Says it all. Just about everything they say on Family Guy is calculated to be as offensive as possible. Seriously. That’s their only gimmick. And we thought South Park was bad.
P.S. You may have to take my opinion with a grain of salt, because according to them, I’m sane. However, I am now also the mother of a 19-year-old boy, unmarried.
This a type of joke they often have on Family Guy, someone says something outrageous or offensive and there is a quick cut. Pretty sure they have had some race jokes delivered by Bryan too, its a form of joke.
Yeah, Brian’s not really in the best position to set policy, influence lawmakers, or sway public perception. I think what you’re looking for may have been discussed by the GOP pre-election. Seems like there was some controversy about vaginal probes, pregancy-proof (but oddly, not rape-proof) uteri, and something about new math with regards to dates of conception. Poke around a little, you may be able to arouse some ire if you resurrect some news stories from Sept and Oct.
Speaking as a woman and vagina owner, Brian’s wisecracks aren’t so much concerning as they are funny as hell. But I’ll laugh at darn near anything MacFarlane writes, so I may not be representative of vagina owners at large.
