FB join request sent also. Writing - that is GREAT! It should help him work on hand-eye-brain coordination. I’ll bet my the end of the month his handwriting will be better than mine. And what’s my excuse?
Excellent news!
I’ve sent a request as well.
Me too!

What wonderful news! Thanks!

Have you asked your communication therapist about the use of an iPad? I work with children with autism, and one of the exciting new things in the field is assistive communication programs on the iPad such as Tap to Talk. The iPad has a number of advantages over the traditional communication devices, including being less clunky, less expensive, and easier to use.
Hi Pyper,
Haven’t had an appointment with the AAC therapist yet. But an Ipad would be great. I love all the suggestions we are getting; it’s very encouraging.
Today we are taking Pat to the park…
I loved his enthusiasm, too! I also loved that it was something you could have made for Pat without worrying about insurance covering it, at a very minimal cost. It could be a great way to communicate while he’s learning to use his hands to write again. I love the iPad idea, too! And I also sent a request on Pat’s FB page (real name Jill). Thanks so much for the update. It’s so exciting to hear about all the improvements!
I’m in. I bet the admin is getting slammed by all the doper requests.
This is a good thing. We (I) can not find just the right words to say thank you to each and everyone of you. Your support has been just what I needed to take the next step. It is so wonderful to go back to page one and read old posts to get me to smile and recognize how many people love Pat. Thank you.
Hey there, SRDad. And thank you and **SRMom ** for updating his online family and making us a part of his recovery. Many families would not take into account the “wierd internet people” that are part of their loved one’s lives. You have, and for that we’re very grateful!
James is a close family friend and regards Pat as his “older brother”.
I’m sure he is LOVING it. When Pat got hurt, James immediately started Prayers for Pat.
SRD, your son is an awesome guy, and he has AMAZING parents.
Pat’s SDMB family has left me for a lose of words. On more than one occasion, SDMB has picked us up and carried us. Multitude of gratitude. By the way, Pat has a posterboard full of postcards. (Throw critical thinking out the window, I’ve turned into one of Pavlov’s dogs.)
Request sent today! Can we send more postcards? Is the address the same? Thinking of you all.
