Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Edit: Mods, apologies if IMHO is the wrong forum.

Lately I’ve begun to wonder why she does what she does. I mean, I know people like Hannity and Limbaugh go out day after day and tell lies and propaganda because it makes them wealthy and gives them power and influence in the Republican party.

But I don’t think that SHS makes millions like they do, and I certainly don’t see her having much, if any, power and influence in the party. Also, for the past couple of months or so she’s been more tight lipped because at any moment Trump or Giuliani could come out contradict anything that she says, leaving her high and dry like they’ve done before. And she acts all butt-hurt when people question her credibility because of it.

So again, what does she get out of lying for the president?

When she retires, there will be many opportunities to earn money.

Books, movies, interviews, etc.

That is the only motivation I can see.

She grew up in politics. It’s what she knows. She doesn’t have the personality to be a candidate for anything. She’s probably working the highest profile job she’ll ever work. This is as good as it will ever get for her.

It’s not just about the money. Most people with major political positions have opportunities to switch over to private business and make more money. But they want power and influence more than they want money.

Sanders is working in the White House. She’s in the Oval Office every day, speaking with the President of the United States. So we can’t deny she holds an influential position.

I am not sure it will look good on a future resume for her. Just saying.

The same thing can be said for pretty much anyone in Dumpster’s administration.

Depending on where one wants to land, it could be a home run on a resume.

If she wants to work for the Heritage Foundation, or a conservative think tank, or a conservative college, or Fox News, her stint as White House spokeswoman would blow a thousand interns’ or entry-level applicants’ resumes out of the water. In many industries or fields/circles, fame almost always beats non-famous.

How about infamous?

If she’s going for conservative employers, it’s not infamous, and even if infamous, lots of people are dazzled by fame - of any sort.

So she’s hoping for good things after she’s done being press secretary? I can see that. I mean, at the very least, if Sean Spicer can make some money off of a book then so can she. But I just don’t see her being a big conservative success in the private sector. She really doesn’t have any charisma to speak of. Maybe she could be a regular paid Fox contributor. That could be cushy gig for her.

Part of the answer may be simple: She believes in this President. Is that so far-fetched? 38% of Americans — some of them intelligent — admire this horrid man.

What about Sean Spicer? He’s made jokes about his lying as the WH spokesman but, IIRC, still supports this cursed Administration.

It may be hard to fathom how their brains could work, but these people do exist and centrist leaders need to understand that. When they lie, they are serving God’s Cause; when a Democrat misspeaks, it’s the Devil’s work. Trump separates children from their parents out of love; when the D’s help children they’re acting from hatred. In her own mind, Trump is Messiah and SHS is his nurturing Mary Magdalene!

She is not a pleasant person, being rude and condescending to reporters who ask her questions. Of course she is a shameless liar. My take on her is that she is just as much a fascist piece of crap that her boss is, having not had a good moral upbringing by her demented, intolerant father. She marches to the podium every day to spew her venom, knowing that each day brings her closer to that Fox gig when this clusterfuck of an administration is brought to justice.

She’s hoping that Daddy will finally love her.

What?

This is my take on it…

I can see Fox wanting to put her up on the screen because of the position she held, but I don’t think she’s smart enough to provide any meaningful commentary. She is very good at sticking to talking points and toeing the party line, but otherwise isn’t impressive.

It’s going to look great on her future resume and she’ll get a lot better (paying) jobs in the future.

She sees things that slip by most people. For example, did you know…

Fox will have a struggle putting her on screen, because she is not an attractive female.

She does it because she enjoys the power and the spotlight, no matter how fleeting it is.

She also does it because she enjoys the praise she gets. She gets lots of hate, but the haters are the enemy and thus don’t matter. As long as someone is patting her on the back, she will keep at it.

Some people want to be remembered fondly. Some people just want to be remembered. I am guessing SHS is in that second group.

Take away her stock phrases of, “clearly the president (insert lie here)…” and “certainly this administration (insert lie here)…” and she doesn’t have much of anything to say at all.
