Sarah K. Palin, Will You Please Go Now?

Well, I thought it was kinda cute.

Will she interview guests on Joe the Mauve Sofa?

Nah I think his job is becoming the most boring job on earth. Hell he doesn’t even have to show up anymore they could just show clips of FOX news and people would be laughing.

I kinda like the idea of rebroadcasting Fox News 24/7 with a laugh track added.

How do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways.
Or if God hath mercy, let me not…

Well, at least she’ll be on Fox News, so I won’t have to actually hear about her.

…Wait, that won’t work if Stewart is gonna make fun of her all the time. Damn.

Would you admire her if she quit as president? Damn you don’t walk off on an elected office.

Or Chevy Chase inserted doing his smarmy mimic routine.

She quit due to two main reasons. One was near and dear to our hearts for a lot of Alaskans. Nutbag Andrea McCloud and her insane 5 followers have been filing frivolous ethics complaints as if they’re on sale at Nordy’s (all but the most current ones have been “not guilty” and those 3 or 4 are still in the process). This has cost our state millions of dollars in legal fees (Fees were also being levied at Sarah herself). The state legal folks are currently changing legislation to prevent further abuse like this, but it’s too late to save our budget from what’s already been done. (bear in mind that IANAL, so I don’t know all of the proper legal terms).

With Sarah still in office as governor these fees would have kept getting charged to the state coffers as long as Nuttikins McCloud wanted to file them. With her quitting it puts the kibbitz on that, as the ethics complaints can’t be done through the state (again, IANAL so I don’t know how the legality of this works).

The second main reason is, of course, the media abuse of Sarah’s family.

Personally I think she’s not suitable for national politics she’s far too thin-skinned and her family, her main reason for being so, is not going to go away.

I don’t get all the “she’s SO stupid and incompetent” stuff though. From what I’ve seen on the dope and IRL friends etc. The reasons for considering her so boil down to her beliefs. (considering her so based on her lack of preparation in her last minute nomination WOULD be stupid and incompetent, as biden and obama had equally stupid campaign comments. Not to mention neither of them were asked hardball questions as Sarah was).

Lastly she’s going to be working in broadcasting? What she was originally trained in and worked in? Oh the horror! Isn’t Fox news the “bad news” anyway? Sheesh, don’t watch it then.

Hike up the fucking skirt. “The media didn’t like her” … what a lame cop-out.

If she couldn’t take the responsibility of the position, and its pressures, she should have stayed up at the fucking moose lodge and spared America this farce.

What a wonderfully complete answer to my question. A cop out.

If you seriously believe that Sarah faced tougher interviews/questions than Joe Biden or Barrack O Bama than there is little point in arguing with you.

That tough-as-nails Katie Couric and her hard hitting questions!

The reasons that people (including a large number of conservatives) find her stupid, is because she actually says and does stupid things, and because she demonstrates little to no comprehension of basic policy issues, and general knowledge of the world.

The media has never attacked her family, by the way. That’s just one of th things she likes to make up.

Oh, and she quit because she wanted to go be on TV and make money (and also because she was in over her head as governor, basically didn’t know what she was doing, and the ethics noose was closing around her neck as well). The primary driving force behind this woman is narcissism.

Who’s upset that she’s going on Fox? This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this meme – that liberals are angry that Palin is working for Fox News. I haven’t seen liberals saying they care. Why WOULD the left care? Do you have any cites that I’m unaware of for liberals expressing dismay or anger because Sarah Palin is working for Fox News? That’s what we’ve been predicting all along. That’s why she quit in Alaska. Fox News is where she belongs. It’s very weird that conservatives think that liberals would be upset that a Republican former politician (of sorts) is working for a conservative cable channel. Of course she is. It’s the one thing in the world she was born to do. Where are you getting the impression that we care? Who is expressing “horror?”

It would be a horror if she got anywhere near the Whitehouse. Being safely ensconsed as one more babbling, empty head in the right wing media echo chamber is exactly where she belongs.

Sarah Palin? I thought people were saying Sarah Pain-in-the… She’s a zero, but a great parrot. Need someone to memorize a script at the drop of a hat? She’s your woman. But, if she ever had an original thought, that’d be too scary!

Who cares if she works for Fox? It is a bit of news and does bear mentioning though. But nobody picks on her family. She came out of no where when McCain picked her. She walked across the stage with her family, which included a unmarried pregnant daughter. Since she was supposed to be a conservative, religious republican ,there was an immediate problem. The liberals get blamed by the repubs for the evils in society, including promiscuity. But there in front of us was the repub candidate with a gravid daughter. Only a liberal press would mention it, or the contradiction with stated repub values, I guess. We must believe if a dem showed up with a out of wedlock pregnant daughter, Fox, Becka and Rush would not have even mentioned it.
Sorry, the Repubs would have ran with that story til your ears bled.

Hardball questions like “what newspapers do you read?”

Holy shit.

Beck asked her this week what was her favorite founder of America. She responded ‘all of them’. Beck and his gotcha journalism. Yep, Palin is a genius and ready to run the country.

Here’s irony - I found an honest man, and he was Diogenes the Cynic :stuck_out_tongue:

QFT.

My question is, how is she stupid or incompetent? The above is possibly an example of how the media and talk radio might consider her beliefs to be inconsistent.

If it’s not her new job, or her publicity stuff with the book that you’re all complaining about, what IS it then? She’s out of politics and out of anything to do with the running of the country. As I said above, she likely will remain so for the good of her family. The thread title was “…please go away now…”. RE: politics, she DID, her presence now is more in line with the whole broadcasting thing. Don’t worry, you’re “safe” (or as “safe” as you can be with this disaster of an administration).

As to the pregnant daughter issue. Um so? How does that have anything to do with HER beliefs? Or are some of the opinion that an 18 year old can be controlled with absolute certainty merely due to one’s religious beliefs? And how does it make her “stupid”? Or maybe a better question would be, what is your (collective your) definition of “stupid”? Because that again, is a “difference of beliefs” not “stupid”.

No, the hardball questions I was speaking of wasn’t the newspaper question, though it was a snotty question and she was definitely taken aback by it. Again, I don’t consider her reaction stupid but more of a “wow, that’s pretty bitchy, I’m not sure how to answer that”. The question and the way it was asked, made it VERY obvious that she was insinuating “I’m pretty sure you’re too stupid to read anything but…” type question.

And as I said, yes she wasn’t well prepared for the campaign. That’s called inexperience. There’s a big difference between that and stupidity or incompetence. With inexperience you learn and get better which she did and still is. Is she perfectly learned on every single interview fact now? No, but she’s learning and I still don’t see where that is “stupidity”.

The examples I keep seeing here that are supposed to prove her “stupidity” are really describing differences of beliefs or opinion, and the fact that she’s got an annoying voice and mannerisms (annoying STILL isn’t the same as stupid). And no, that is NOT an Alaskan accent :D, we don’t have accents.
