Of course she’s not alone: Beck, Limbaugh, and all of the other usual fuckheads are criticizing it. The crazy thing is that I think some people who are ordinarily fans may actually be seeing this as “uh… yeah, but he killed bin Laden”. I’ve no delusions the moment of clarity will last, but it’s nice to see the masses of asses not jumping up and down echoing them for once.
Would she be satisfied with a Certificate of Live Death, or is she insisting on the long form?
The thing is, I’m sure (and I expect everyone else is too) she had an alternate criticism prepared if he’d released the photos. The important thing is to criticize the “other side.”

I think the point has been gotten across.
I would still like to come right out and say it, though.
Maybe they will and maybe they won’t is a bit wishy-washy. And the administration has said both. I know they can say it both ways, but they can’t not release the photos once someone sneaks them out. That bell cannot be unrung, so they had best control how and when it is done because it will be done sooner or later.

I was kind of “meh” about whether we release the photos or not, but I’ve heard several talking heads say the same thing, and I’m leaning that way myself now. If photos exist, they will probably be released somehow. And we’ve already seen bloody photos of the others who were killed.
Panetta was right. They will have to release them at some point.
Where you people are all unfairly criticizing former Governor Palin is that she had the courage to commit in writing BEFORE this Obama guy announced what his policy would be. You’re all acting like she waited to see what Obama would do, and THEN picked a position to take on releasing the photos, whereas she announced her own position immediately (while Obama was making up his so-called mind) and got it out for everyone to see in advance. Give her a little credit for her courage and her bravery and her leadership and her avoidance of partisan politics, please.

Ummm, I fail to see your point. Unless I’m mistaken, this thread is about actual words, not hypotheticals. Which were indeed predicted by the previous threads.
But seriously, folks, what she doesn’t seem to get is that Obama can always release the photos later, and I believe he will, at a time when say some Al Quada idiot has the stones to claim that Osama isn’t dead, or that he was beheaded or that he took out a dozen Seals before they got him or some such shit.
Easy. Bush, in his divine wisdom, initiated the protocols and Obama merely implemented them.
There is some truth to that, though. Too many people view the office of the President as the person itself - it’s not. The policies of one administration to the next actually don’t change that much in situations like this. We can’t have the Executive Branch, one third of the government, entirely re-invent itself every four years. That would be chaos.
My personal view is that it’s not Bush or Obama that got Bin Laden, the credit needs to go to the CIA and the Pentagon. And Seal Team Six of course.
Maybe Obama could post them on his Facebook page. Am I a genius or what…?
