I think even most Republicans realize it’s better to shut up about this and pay respect where it’s due (hell, I heard even Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump were congratulating/praising Obama). It just reflects poorly on her.
Might help her sell her next book, though.
It’s obvious to me that she no longer wants a political career. She stepped down from the governorship of Alaska because… why, exactly? She doesn’t actually want to run anything, she wants to be a photogenic talking head. It’s pathetic. But her “fiestiness” and her “grizzly mom” persona sells books. If she doesn’t say crazy shit, people will forget about her. She’s Ann Coulter without the man-hands.
For a while, rightly or wrongly (well, wrongly), Palin was driving public discourse. This was ridiculous, but, hey, she was (kinda sorta) being taken seriously as an opinion maker. So sure, Palin pittings made some sort of sense then. But since the Arizona shootings, she’s been pretty irrelevant. This is unfortunate, since I would’ve loved a Palin GOP nomination, but she’s done. Can we stop paying attention to her now? That shark has been jumped.
