Well, all I meant is that it is the hints that make it fun for some people to guess (I never guessed a thing - I guess I don’t read closely enough)…that was my whole viewpoint. But I did add, Satan, that if someone is a negative type person - it shines through their personality, it should not offend you, you ought to just feel pity that others are not so happy. That’s what I think.

Exactly, you inconsiderate son of a bitch. I think it’s readily apparent that although plenty of people know about this, we wanted it out on our own time and terms. You took that away from us, simply in your hurry to look like a master detective. Well, duh. You’ve done nothing but make yourself look like a slimy gossip-monger, and one who revels in the misfortune of others as well.
From now on, now that we’ve been outed, I suppose we should share the ground rules that we’ve already discussed. If you want to know any details about our relationship, feel free to ask us personally. If we both feel that you have any right to know, we’ll tell you. If not, you’re up the fucking creek, folks. We’ve both learned our lessons about having this MB know too much about our personal lives. So all I ask is that you keep it off the MB. This isn’t what it’s about, anyway.

Well, at the risk of alienating Satan, whom I absolutely adore (and I am extremely bummed about missing the opportunity to meet) I have to say that the reaction to the revelation was, in my opinion, unfair.
Satan, while we can hear and accept (and even applaud, even though it takes away alot of the fun around here) your mature decision to stop telling a bunch of people you don’t know every painful, intimate, and sometimes alarming detail of yoru personal life, the fact remains that to do so was your habit until now. Therefore, it seems hardly fair to flip out at these people for revealing your secret…particularly a secret that was a: not so secret and b: a perfectly pleasant and positive thing, lacking in sordid detail.
I agree that the remark about breaking up was uncalled for and I can see why you’d be offended by that. But the revelation itself didn’t deserve a “Fuck yoU!” such as you gave.
And I’m madly jealous of Drain Bead.

I don’t really see the big deal either. Somebody was bound to spill it at some point, or it would have become common knowledge through private chats, ICQ and whatnot.
I dislike the tone of voice whitetho is using as much as the next guy, but as far as a breach of confidence or privacy goes, I’d say the guy has done nothing wrong, really. But his speculating on your break-up right after the start-up (insert Keith Richards riff here) sure is rather tasteless and says more about whitethos private endeavours (and their apparent unsuccesful course - hence the bitterness) than about the odds Satan and Drain Bead are facing, methinks.
Having said all that crap, let me now congratulate the new couple - since we’re out and all, it’s the least I can do.
Brian, Libby, you guys have BOTH been on my “Most Witty and Entertaining Posters”-list ever since I joined these boards. From what I know of you (which is not all THAT much, I’m sure) you guys really seem to fit together - at least, that was my gut reaction when I heard of all this.
May I suggest Amsterdam as you honeymoon destination ? I’ll be more than happy to play TourGuide Extraordiniare !
