She was on last season’s, or the season before that, Dancing With the Stars.
Holy crap that wasn’t remotely funny. Just an audience applauding and cheering way, way, way too much. Not ragging on anyone who enjoyed it, I just didn’t get it. It was like being at a concert and everyone is screaming because the band leader is doing scales on his guitar.
They look good for 40 year olds. Screech did not age nearly as well. Where is Lark?
She didn’t age well, I guess they didn’t include her because of that.
She was active on TV up until 2009, then it looks like she took some time off.
Lark Voorhies seems to be dealing with mental health issues. Her mother claims that she’s bipolar and she’s the author of this… book, I guess.
The lines aren’t that funny (though I chuckled at the stripper bit). Its more the surreality of seeing the 40-something actors recreating their teenage characters. Especially with the effort that seems to have gone into it (recreating the Bayside set, getting the hair right (I assume those are wigs on Zack and Jessie)).
That is quite sad.
Well, yes. If you happen to be at some random concert in a local bar and all of a sudden Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Bonham just show up out of nowhere and play a few tunes. Even if you’re not a huge Led Zeppelin fan, it’s still sort of neat.
Last time I remember seeing Screetch, he was on some celebrity fitness show trying to be less of a fatbody and kept getting into crazy fights with the other cast and trainers.
Tori wants to know why she wasn’t invited.
Did you watch the original show? Other than the pregnancy part, the skit could have fit in to any of the normal episodes.
I thought it was very well done. And kudos to the set designer! They got it spot-on. It was great to see everyone again.
I’m getting to be a fan of these show reunions that aren’t actual reunion shows. The Seinfeld crew got together on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and that was great, too.
If anybody’s missing some commas, I think I found them.
Yup, I watched the original show. I’m not saying the skit wasn’t well done. It was well done and the actors have aged well. I’m just saying it wasn’t funny and people were applauding way too hard for nothing.
It reminds me of a skit Patton Oswalt did about doing a show at a casino. He got up to the mike and everyone started cheering despite him not telling any jokes. Eventually he just left the stage w/o telling a single joke (so he says). Same thing. If this skit had been funny it would’ve been great, but it wasn’t. I appreciate 90s nostalgia as much as anyone (probably more) but that alone doesn’t make a skit. If it did then SNL could just show still pictures of Nirvana instead of actually having a good band play on the show.
Yes, but if someone videotaped it and labeled it ‘Zeppelin shows up at small town bar’ and all they do is test the microphones and check the cables, you would be disappointed.
I’d have to agree. They seemed to have wasted the opportunity. Instead of giving them some good lines and something witty to say or do they relied too much on “Look! It’s the old cast members dressed up like their characters!” (cue laughter) The two lines of “Jessie a stripper?” and “I got Kelly pregnant” weren’t enough to carry the thing.
I wondered if they used the original Saved By the Bell set pieces? Jimmy was airing from the NBC california studios where the original show was shot.
Slater is the male lead on Extra! http://extratv.com/ It comes on after TMZ tv so I watch it sometimes. They had Jimmy Fallon on as a special guest last night so I watched that segment.
On the Extra show last night Slater said Screech couldn’t make it due to “legal troubles” and they showed a pic of Screech in a courtroom.
Slater also said Lark couldn’t make because she was busy with other projects or obligations or something.
Slater also did a mini behind the scenes, that they showed on Extra, while they filmed and he too was wearing a wig and joked about how he didn’t think his hair was so big back then.
Here’s the behind the scene video.
That is a good way of putting it. They went through all that trouble of recreating the show and the skit itself wasn’t good. The audience applauding for nothing didn’t help, that was like a bad laugh track on steroids. It would be like if someone reunited the cast of ST:TNG and gave them terrible dialogue that wasn’t funny. All that trouble for nothing.
It’s called Star Trek: Nemesis.
Except for the “Jessie as a stripper” line, it’s as unfunny as a SNL skit. But Tiffani- Amber and Elizabeth still look fine. And it’s nice for them to acknowledge their past.
Wow, just, wow, there, were, almost, as, many, commas, as, words.
23, words, in, two, sentences, and, 19 , commas.
