At least they didn’t go through yet another Enterprise this time. I almost wish they had, given the alternative.
I had to chuckle when Deanna was given command of the ship. “Don’t you remember what happened LAST time she was driving???”

Okay, I’ve decided that I can’t stand it until I see Nemisis. I want a major spoiler!
Someone major is going to die? Please, someone tell me who it is!?!? Please?
thanks in advance (I hope …)
SEE THIS MOVIEWell… there’s this scene at the end… and… geez… I can’t even bring myself to say it! SOB!Argh! There are so many things that I was thinking of talking about when I was watching the movie, but now I can only think of one, and I don’t want to talk about it!
tarragon, email me for who croaks.
Wow, I haven’t even seen the trailor, so I’m going to be extra, extra surprised! Very exciting.
I predict talking rodents. Are there talking rodents? Because I’m definitely getting a talking rodent vibe.
(rapidly descending into insanity)
Luv ya, Kn(superfreak)ckers!
Me, too! (and don’t say the WB frog!)
Gotta know, gotta know! …almost out of spice… gotta get more spice… talking rodents… rodents need the spice… I need the spice… hello?!? I’m on the phone here! …gotta get more spice…
NoClue, did you bring enough for everyone?
I’m working on it!
Somebody please kill the star trek franchise… please…
The movie was OK at best. I’ve seen far better episodes, and it fits the formula of every other TNG (maybe TOS) series. This franchise has been in the crapper ever since Voyager and now I have to witenss… well, you know… in what is at best a mediocre movie. I was sad at the end, not because you know, but because it had to happen in this trite piece of mediocrity.
I’m turning in my Star Trek fan card to save the memory of the series. It has ceased to entertain me on anything but a primitive level.
LOL Blast ya, Achenar! -If- I find out, I will email those who asked though.
I’ve only seen the trailers for the movie, but I’ve read some of the reviews–it’s not getting very good reviews, unfortunately. But this is what gets me about the reviewers…do they know -anything- about Star Trek?! I’ve seen questions about Romulus and Remus and the use of old Roman terms by the Romulans (Praetar, Senate, etc.). If these reviewers were familiar at all with Star Trek, they would know that information has been around for quite some time. Granted, it’s from the books, which some do not recognize as “canon,” but it’s not something they made up for this movie, that’s for certain. I will likely see the movie and will probably like it (possibly like it a lot :)); I just don’t have the time to see it right now! And first movie I see in the upcoming weeks will definitely be Two Towers.
Do the dimensions 1X3X9 mean anything to you?
(think monkeys)
I know things about Star Trek and I agree with the reviews. The movie makers are taking advantage of loyal fans and therefore avoid risking originality.
Sheesh… Ebert was almost as evil as Mr. Cranky on this one.
Gotta love Mr. C, though…
This movie isn’t going to be giving Wrath of Khan any serious competition.
I thought it sucked.
There’s a bit of foreshadowing when Data puts his hand on Picard’s face and says “Perform backup.”
I saw the new Star Trek this evening.
One thing I loved was the fact the there were no opening credits to sit through! The title came up and bam!, right into the movie.
One thing I didn’t like, was the movie itself.
No, I’m not speaking as a Star Wars fan, I honestly didn’t like the movie. To me it seemed to be following the trend of that last few. It has a few high points, but they don’t seem to get that ‘high’. Ok, Riker and Diana get married, ok a main character dies. (But even that was left open…nice, considering it is supposed to be their ‘final voyage’.)
The story had more holes than Swiss Cheese! Where did they get Picard’s DNA from? Where did they find the other Data-like android? What happened to Data’s emotions? Wern’t Geordi’s eye fixed in the last movie?
All in all, total garbage. (But the FX were pretty cool.)
Is everybody forgetting that in the TNG series finale, the future was shown? A future that included a live Data?
Is that no longer canon? Or was it only a possbile future?
This movie crapped all over continuity.
MrMyth
I guess that could be explained by the ‘new’ Data they found. They did do a complete memory transfer, remember. (Getting flashbacks of ST III over here.)
Apparently theyve decided to get rid of “quantum torpedos”
Warf: We’re out of photon torpedos.
I always viewed the TNG series finale All Good Things… as being in the same vein as Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
In other words, had Picard not passed Q’s test, not learned the lesson Q wanted to see him learn, then yes, the future we saw would have turned out the way it did.
And I think the fact that in the “future” of All Good Things… the Enterprise that’s shown is the Enterprise-D, and they’re up to the Enterprise-E now, continuity’s already been crapped over, if one takes the All Good Things… “future” to be literal truth.
