Say hello to Shiloh! (kitty pics)

That was *precisely *what I was thinking about.

He looks like a right cheeky little sod in the 10 week pic

Be warned, even if he doesn’t bring the drapes down he will fill them with lots of tiny holes.

emits high pitched squeal that only certain animals can hear

Life has been so full of kitten goodness that I’ve forgotten to update you guys with more pics. Terrible I know! Shame on me… I shall now endeavor to make up for the lack. Run while you can…

OH YES… and he wasn’t answering to “Shiloh” so I changed his name. He is now officially Nikolas - but Nicky in day to day use. He took to it right away

Nicky - pic taken yesterday
Nicky catches his tail along with the feather part of his toy.
He didn’t quite know what to do when that happened.
I catch Rummy & Anna just looking on a lot of times, not wanting to get involved.
Nicky & Anna share a hammock
Here he is playing pattycake - whenever I hold my hand out like this, he sits up and pats it
Nicky standing in the window seat
Nicky tackles his big brother Rummy
Nicky kills a feather - it was from a fishing pole toy
Here he is recharging his batteries (yes they really DO run out!)
Another feather toy bites the dust
Nicky rests after a wild chase
Chasing that elusive feather
Anna watching over Nicky
How can that feather keep getting away?
Another pic from yesterday
Here he is “helping” me change the bed by pouncing on the sheets every time I tried to straighten them
a movie of him chasing his tail in a break in the bed-making yesterday.
Rummy & Nicky sharing a nap spot
Rummy & Nicky in the front hammocks (not too spoiled are they?)
Nicky’s usual spot when I’m lap-topping it. He’s got this laptop thing down pat.

I hope I’ve redeemed myself at least a little with all these photos.

Squeeeeee!

I do not need a kitten! I do not need a kitten! (But I want one :))

Weapons-grade kitten.

It shouldn’t be legal for a cat to be that cute.

I just got out of therapy and you post more pictures?

dials emergency number

I’m in aww of his cuteness!

It looks like you have a high tolerance for long-haired kitties. We adopted an 8-year-old cat from the SPCA over a year ago who looks a lot like your Rummy. I’ve been getting kitten fever lately, but I think we’re going to look for a nice shorthair this time

I love the patty-cake picture, and how he went all Halloween kitty in the video.

man-Squeeeee!
:: falls over ::

 You guys have the best kitty reactions!
He managed to get on my kitchen counter today - the one off-limits place in the house. Time for me to get the doublestick tape and make up some shaker cans. I suspect this particular kitten will simply regard these measures as challenges, but I have to do something… and tomorrow starts a new workweek so I won’t be around.

I can see it now… I’ll come home tomorrow to find sticky tape all over everything and shaker cans on the floor. sigh This is the part I’ve been dreading… well, I was warned that Siberians are jumpers! :smack:

Tin foil on the counter. You can put snap traps under the tin foil to make scary noises but not hurt Nicky. They sell some that just make a noise, no “trap” part. Try also upside down contact paper (the stuff you line drawers with, sticky side up). Tape the corners down firmly so he doesn’t get wrapped up in it.

There are also motion detection squirt devices they sell for gardens. Depends on how serious you want to get about the “no kitchen counter” rule.

Tell me if you ever need a pet sitter - they’re all adorable!

Sticky tape did NOT work. It was just a small nuisance to him… made him pick his feet up more. Tin foil made FUN sounds and just made him hop and jump pounce on it all over. Shaker cans were very fun things to deliberately knock off the counters and then roll around the floor. The squirt bottle. Yes the squirt bottle. He won that round - just spun around and started catching the water in his open mouth. Thought it was a great game. Contact paper was about the same as tape for a reaction… .except he didn’t drag bits of it around on his feet. I finally took a cheap plastic carpet protector mat and taped it to the counters pointys up. One jump and he got down real quick. There has been no trespassing since then and my counters are bare again. Phew! (and no he did not hurt his feet - I checked them to be sure. The pointys were just nubs and not real pointy…)

Oh yes and in other news Nicky was um… humping the other cats… shamelessly… so he has been neutered at just 5-1/2 months. All is now calm again. Oh yes and did I mention he is now 10 pounds? NO FAT. Just lean, muscled cat. He is going to be a monster…
Here he is recharging his batteries yesterday morning.

Very cute kitty!

cuteness overload

That is one amazingly cute kitty dude. He needs to be the dictionary under the word squee.

Just gotta share a photo from this past weekend…
Here’s Nicky at 7 months hanging out in the windowseat
Yes - he is now as large as my full grown cats… I may have to leash-train this boy or he’ll be too big for the carrier before long. I wonder if they sell moose-sized cat harnesses?

Okay I lied - here’s one more.
Nicky, Anna & Rummy sharing a sunbeam this past weekend
Nicky is closest to the camera - Anna in the middle - Rummy at the door. You can see his size next to the other two cats.

Adorable. Just… Adorable.
