I must add that dorkusmalorkusmafia has the absolute coolest username.
I like all of you.
Except one.
Okay, I feel as tho the Trek Dopers are my friends. All of them, even if they only only posted once. Of course, by my psots and replies, you know if you’re a fave of mine.
I enjoy the religious debaters. Short of going door to door and asking everyone what they think, this is a great way to find out many things. Whether it be from a fundie view, liberal view, or non religious…it’s all enlightening.
Specifics?

and others i will probably post later as i remember certain threads…
Whether it’s because of wit, friendliness, wisdom, or strength of convictions (even ones I disagree with), many Dopers have won my admiration and thanks.
NoClueBoy is probably cute, but i have no clue…
he’s nice too.
Watcher: I am so flattered to have been remembered from that miles-long typo-induced thread!
Kn*ckers and NCB: Now I’m gonna be pronouncing my own username wrong in my mind!
NCB: Were you trying to say Zev_Steinhart? I think that’s it.
Of course NCB is koot. How could he not be?
I just want to say that I’m on the Biggirl train. When I very first joined up here I got entangled with a thread that was against the rules. I attempted to defend my actions and those of others in the Pit in a very passive-agressive manner. Biggirl said something to me to the effect of, “At least when I’m a bitch, I admit it.” Words to live by, for me anyway. Lesson learned.
From that same incident, thanks to Gorgon Heap for being so cool about the whole thing.
I was really hoping to come to NYC Dope this past January to say thanks in person to both of you, but I didn’t make it. So thanks. You learned me good.
Kyla, it’s an honor to be considered your long-lost sibling! ChiDope, here we come. Dinosaurs RAWWWWRRR!
I really appreciate the presence of the younger generation on this board. I am 23 and I’ve never been very impressed by members of my own generation. You guys have convinced me that there are people my age that are intelligent and have good hearts. andygirl was the first. I admire her immensely. There are many others. It’s wonderfully comforting and inspiring!
Polycarp is my hero and the sort of person that I would want either for an uncle or grandfather. I hope someday to be as good a person as he. Reading some of the religion threads in GD that he participated in encouraged me to sign up for a wonderful weekly seminar on Science & Religion at my university. Thanks, Poly! May God bless.
Hey, thanks for the mention, NoClueBoy. You’d be on my list too, as I always enjoy your posts. The rest of my (far from comprehensive) list of respected posters would include: Desmostylus, samarm, beagledave, Quadgop the Mercotan, Broomstick, astro, scr4, Johnny LA, Achernar, and others too numerous to mention. In truth, there’s not many Dopers I don’t like, whhic is unusual for any other message board.
Shagnasty has some of the funniest stories I’ve ever heard. He’s a sweet man, a good husband and father, and a very good friend.
Bedrosian Bixby writes some of the most gut-wrenching, heart-felt, lovely poetry I’ve ever read. It makes me feel nostalgic and old, but I love it anyway. He’s also got excellent taste in music.
Debaser can fight to the death and still have a grin on his face. Many people who have encountered him in Great Debates may not realize the sweetness and charm the man exudes IRL - and I’m sure he’s fine with that. I may not agree with his politics, but we can disagree and still hang out and have a beer.
Ye Ghods, I got mentioned in this thread! Thank you, thank you! It’s nice to know that someone is occasionally thinking of me and that makes all the difference in this long, long semester.
Now, my turn. Whilst I disagree with them in about everything, I do have to say that Joe_Cool, JerseyDiamond and His4Ever have a strength of faith that can only be admired.
There are many, many others here that I admire but they’ve all been mentioned before, so let me add a hearty ME TOO!! to this thread.
I’m fond of just about everyone on this board.
I must mention the posters from the ‘a’ thread. Boy, that was a blast while it lasted. I had much fun (especially with Q.E.D. ).
Also special mention of: TVeblen, CanvasShoes, SPOOFE, spooje, Opalcat, Lobsang, BioHazard, 2trew, Thunder, Smeghead, Miller, Esprix, lno…I could go on and on and on and on…
So I’ll just mention Q.E.D. one more time and then stop.
I would just like to thank Derleth for giving me such a warm welcome and making me feel at home.
:smack: I forgot to mention you among many, many others, sperfur!
Also, I must add SmackFu, 2trew, Tripler and Hamlet.
This is why I hate these kinds of threads, there’s just too many to name without leaving out some. sigh
Thanks for the compliment, Q.E.D.! FWIW, I find you a helpful, thoughtful poster, and I enjoy reading your posts.
A few more nominations:
Bippy the beardless: Funny guy!
Alice in Wonderland: My kind of girl, and funny too.
clayton_e: This man can have no enemies, he is just too much of a nice guy.
Gundy said:
Funny thing - Zyada keeps suggesting something with duct tape …
Thanks, Gundy!
Anyway, there are lots of special people here, so I’ll just mention Scotticher for being such a sweetie.
Wow, I actually got mentioned. Twice. Yeah, okay… so it was just by other Trek gee… er, Dopers but still. That’s awesome.
Vivalostwages is probably my favorite poster at the moment. I always look forward to the late night Trek thread barrages when she starts posting.
NoClueBoy’s cool too despite having absolutely horrible taste in television. And being a total spaz.
Kn*ckers is the female NoClueBoy. I’m not sure if that’s something she’ll be glad to hear though.
Tars Tarkas was the first Doper I really liked.
I really enjoy Cervaise’s posts about Enterprise.
SPOOFE and Psi Cop are fun to read in small doses. When they start talking physics and mathematics, my eyes glaze over though.
I spend entirely too much time in Cafe Society…
galen ubal is sweet, funny, good-looking, all-around wonderful. 'Course, being in love with him, I’m biased, but I’m right, dammit!
Superdude is really funny, sweet, and overall seems to be a great person. I hope his luck gets better soon
And for about the 80th time in this thread, I’ll throw in Guin. Her posts are always witty and insightful, and Customers Suck is a really cool site
Jet Girl The first person to actually reach out to me, I thank you very much.
Max Override You have been a dear friend, and have contributed in helping me overcome problems
Tir Tinuviel You helped me sort out that commitment problem, I spoke to that girl by the way about it.
Sassy Wise and thoughtful, reminds me of a ‘hip mom’
**Pammipoo, ** The first Dope on LJ to add me to thier friends list, to name but a few, have helped me over the last couple of months, and I appreciate it.
Cervaise and PunditLisa have written some of the most thoughtful posts I’ve seen around here.
Canadian Sue, for sharing with me her grief and sorrow over the duration her sister’s illness and passing - it helped me work through feelings I had while my Auntie Bonnie was going through the same thing. When I need a little pick-me-up, I’ll get a little surprise in the mail!
Montfort, who did what I did, but with much more style.
Uncle Polycarp has a wonderful gentle and loving spirit.
Hamadryad doesn’t entirely suck.
Oxymoron is pretty.
delphica is a dolly and that silly vix always makes me smile.
And of course, Frumtastic Kylapants and Miss Rasadasa.
Thanks, guys. And thank you to everyone else, too. You fill my days and you teach me and laugh with me, cry and commisserate with me. Without you, I wouldn’t have my husband, and I wouldn’t have been able to handle the transition to a new life.
