… I need a site with friendship cards in particular.
H’m! Just had a thought. What might Wikipedia have under Greeting Cards?
Well, if anyone has one right off the top of their heads, let me know in the meantime. Thanks.

Hallmark.com has lots of cute free ones.
Second the Hallmark.com recommendation, but I don’t think you can use it without registration.
I’m not even sure there is one that is all three of good+free+non-reg. I suspect most of the greetings sites that let you just send without registration to be little more than email address harvesting operations.
Since this is more about opinions, let move it to IMHO.

If snark is OK, there’s www.someecards.com.
I think bluemountain.com has some that are free. But beware!!! Even if you are a paid member, the recipient of your ecard will see ads. I just sent my mother a birthday card, and she said it came with a Botox ad!!! Fortunately she thought this was amusing.
Definitely my favorite. “You’re the Oates to my Hall”? Genius!
Thanks to all who responded.
I’m now thinking that there should be an annual thread, What is the best of…
– with several sections. Such as…
“Best online resource for given name derivations”
– and so on. Look for it soon.
In fact, maybe it should be quarterly. What do y’all think? If annual, middle third of spring (as it is now) would make a great tradition.
And, yes, I will be starting it here in IMHO, not General Questions. :smack:

That’s a great idea! The Dopers’ Choice Awards!
If only polls were enabled here, eh?
Oh, I know… the server, the server!
Personally I can’t stand online greetings cards. I never open the links to them - I have an opinion (probably wrong, but formed about a decade ago and therefore deeply ingrained) that they are all either email harvesting scams, or virus carriers, or both. Frankly I’d be a bit annoyed if someone had entered my email address into a free online greetings cards site, as I could pretty much guarantee that I’d be receiving penis spam from here to eternity.
May I second Colophon’s opinion?!
I hate email cards.
And it seems like every German I know just loves them to death, as I get them from Germany all the time.
I finally stopped opening those stupid things. They are usually some idiotic bouncing bunny with tacky artwork and a message that says, “Happy Day” or whatever.
The worst part is the Germans get really, really pissed off if I don’t open them - it seems they can see if I got the card and opened it and often I will get an email saying, “I sent you a card and you didn’t open it, why?”
Fine, I will open the stupid, crappy artwork, Flash card so you can get the receipt that I got it, and YES, I opened it. TaDa!
I really hate email cards. They are about as personal as Nigerian spam.
Thanks, Sigmagirl.
I was thinking of starting an IMHO thread today called “Spring Fling! What is the Very Best…”
I’ll just go with “Spring Fling! The Dopers’ Choice Awards…”
Thanks!

I feel . . . so very . . . happy!
