Any E-card sites that don't suck?

I have never seen an e-card site that had a single e-card I wouldn’t be embarrassed to send.

Then again, I haven’t made that much effort.

Are there any sites that are GENUINELY funny? Intelligent? Clever?

No one I know is stupid enough to open one, so what’s the point?

Yes, more specifically, how do you know that the e-card site won’t sell the e-mail adress of the adressee to spam companies?

Shrug, I normally send them from Kukuxumusu - they don’t move, don’t sing, don’t wiggle, it’s just the same pics they use on everything else they make. You’re not required to register, give them a DNA sample or even enter your email…

And so far they don’t seem to be selling my addys or those of my friends around (my friends send me musus too).

I’m partial to the hoops and yoyo cards, but then I’m weird (I love their Sarcastic Wednesday card). I won’t link to the site because it has music playing, but for the right person, I’d send a hoops and yoyo card.

There was that Malware sent out via e-cards for a while, so I just can’t see anyone opening one. I won’t, anyway.

It depends. Where are you finding your e-cards?

My family is pretty big on the card thing (I’ve never gotten into it, paper cards or otherwise). They love e-cards. So I send them, but I am picky - I try to pick something I think the individual would like. I usually send from Hallmark, but over the years, they started charging for some of the better ones, and I’d sent most of their old ones. I switched to American Greetings, and though you have to pay a small price for a membership, it has the people at the receiving end thrilled. That’s worth it, to me.

A lot of times, if you just type in e-card or free e-cards in any search engine, you get a whole lot of crap that I’d never send anyone.

These are great, thanks!

I found the someecards myself last night. A lot of so what, but a few real gems in there, I have to say.

I ended up going with lamecards.com. (I don’t have the malware concerns that so many do…Mac, ya know…)

I also love the Hallmark Hoops and YoYo cards. They are really funny.

Bluemountain.com has some very good e-cards (though you do have to sign up). They don’t sell your e-mail address. My wife and I use them, as do my parents.

Anyone who knows enough not to click on e-card links is smart enough to know the difference between a legitimate site and dangerous one. To say “I never click on them” is just a sign of a lack of computer savvy.

Those are great! Today was my husband’s birthday, and I couldn’t find anything just right for him, until that site.

I’ve always thought Amazon’s e-cards were decent. But I find that there’s only 3 or 4 per set that are really great and you have to remember which ones you’ve already sent to the person you are sending to again this year.

birthday alarm.com is quite good, and they email you reminders so you don’t go forgetting anyone! I have used them for many years and have had no problems with spam due to them, nor have the people I send cards to.

Sites can and have been spoofed. It’s a dangerous gamble to take, and a nice written message is better anyhow.

Does having Gmail protect against ecard malware?

I second the notion that they are a waste of time because the recipient won’t open it. I won’t.

Sometimes I find something I like on Hipster Cards: http://hipstercards.com/

My spousette and I send Hoops and Yoyo back and forth, too. I got a New Year’s Day card  .
