Ooh, I just joined Ravelry too - I’m inn.
And I second getting some knitpicks Harmony Wood - I just found out my local yarn dealer has them (boy, did I spend insane amounts that day!)

I’m in! Thanks, stargazer!
Knitpicks is awesome! I haven’t been disappointed yet with their yarn and I’m in love with their Harmony Wood interchangeable needles. The set is $70, but you get 4 different cables and needle tips in 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,10.5 and 11! That’s a crapload of needles! And if you ever have a problem (maybe the glue holding the wood in the tip loosens and it comes apart), give customer service a call and they send out a replacement right away. I called them because my set accidentally had 3 size 7 tips and only one size 6 tips. They sent out a pair of 6 tips that afternoon, free of charge.
I highly recommend Ravelry because not only is it a good place to store your stash/project information and look for patterns, but it can also be good for getting your confidence built. I joined it after I had only made one non-scarf project (a ruffled head wrap) and didn’t think I’d be able to make ANYTHING that was like, FANCY, or anything for awhile. Reading the forums, I’d hear, “Just jump in. What’s the worst that can happen? You can do it!”
And I thought, “hey, maybe I CAN!” I can tell you right now that I dived headfirst into a big lace shawl and into socks and things have gone great. I wouldn’t be as far along in my knitting skills if I hadn’t joined Ravelry.
I’m hotaru there. Feel free to friend me. :: waves ::
As for current projects:
Taconic Pullover, a store pattern by Webs (which I got to go to in person. It’s amaaaazing). I’m doing it in a super baby-butt smooth superwash merino in deep bright teal
Polly Jean socks. She only has two patterns on Ravelry and I’ve done the other (Claudia hat). I love her style and I’m doing this in a bright acidy kettle dyed green, which makes those “shell” like shapes look like leaves trailing down the sock.
I’m a fan. Yarn AND needles.
It really is. I can’t say why I bought it for my legwarmers. I guess the price lured me in. It’s so stiff too and I’m using 9’s on the main part.
Let’s have an internet prayer chain: Dear God, kill Woolease. Amen. PS, also Lion Homespun.
At least Homespun’s nubbly-ness covers most of the mistakes it causes you to make when knitting with it. That’s about its only saving grace.
Hey now, don’t get frisky on me. I happen to like Lion Homespun. It makes a nice, sturdy, machine washable baby blanket, and comes in loads of pretty colors. But I crochet and never use less than a “N” hook with it… it’s really hard to knit with.
Though I know QUITE a few people who wish the earth would swallow it up… I’m just saying, there are 2 sides, unlike Wool-Ease which is made of pure evil.
Hey hey, TA!
I’m Anna Livia Plurabelle on NADS…and Modgonne on Ravelry
Only one project up, but it is the wonderful ‘owls’ jumper.
