Scariest sitcom family to live with?

Have you seen Stephen Collins as Dennis & Dee’s slimeball bio-dad on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia"? He truly redeemed himself with that.

Freaky? I find it sexy.

As for scariest family, I couldn’t really name any. My family shares a lot with the Bundys, the Conners, and the Addams, so they don’t seem scary. Growing up I wished mine could be more like the Tanners, or the Winslows, or the Huxtibles, so they weren’t scary either.

Indeed!

On 7th Heaven both of the parents are Star Trek alums.

I think my personal hell would be to be a member of the Brady household. They’re just weird.

I gotta say, the Camdens spend a lot of time making sure their siblings/kids are abstaining. To the point of spying on each other. Matt in particular really skeeves me. I mean, Barry Watson was insanely gorgeous but he undid it all when it came to his attitude towards Lucy and Mary and their dating life.

I also saw an episode where Simon asked his father about how cults get started and asking him if their church was like that, and Pastor Eric encouraged Simon to spread a false belief among the kids to show him how cults get started. If the show had lasted, this family so would have gone Jonestown.

Zebra, you’re right about that. Though they got to meet a lot of celebrities, so I think I wouldn’t mind hanging out with them on the days when Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Davy Jones showed up.

Well, my wife used to watch this, and if I didn’t laugh, I would’ve cried.

They were creepy, and I wonder what issues the writers had, or if they were just extremely cynical.

My Wife & Kids. Michael and Jay Kyle are unfit parents wo raised three of the scariest kids ever.

I halfway agree; I gotta say that Mary and Lucy were hawt, which made it possible for me to watch 5 minute chunks of it every week. Of course, SWMBO and The Daughter were glued to it.

Lucy was the scary one, though! I mean, she was a nice enough kid early on but she was the most indoctrinated one in the fold by the end. Mary seemed like the only one who was vaguely cool when she started rebelling.

I’ve got nothing against religion, but Reverend Camden (Eric) was one manipulative guy. I just saw an episode where he meets a single mom and her son who are in debt because the mom joint filed with her boyfriend and he took off, leaving her with his debts. The IRS refuses to let the woman off the hook. Eric goes to meet with someone from the IRS who’s handling the case. IRS guy has a heart attack, Eric takes him to the hospital, then it turns out IRS guy just had heartburn. (The doctor tells Eric.) Eric requests a moment alone with the guy before the doctor lets him know the truth, and the IRS guy talks about how guilty he feels. Eric invites the single mom and cute kid in, and IRS guy says if he wasn’t dying, he’d totally help them. Then it’s revealed that there was no heart attack. Creepy, manipulative minister.

So why can’t I stop watching this show?

I’d have to say the Griffins in Family Guy.

Peter blows huge amounts of cash on crazy vehicles and schemes, can’t hold down a job, is abusive to everyone in the family and destroys half the city fighting with a giant chicken. Brian the dog is an alcoholic tree-hugging self-hater, Stewie the baby is an evil genius that may blow up the house or shoot you at any moment, the teenage son Chris is fat and stupid and is pursued by an elderly pedophile, an evil monkey lives in Chris’s closet, and then there’s Meg, she’s the worst of all.

Hell, the Griffins would win for the simple fact that, living in their world, you’re likely to end up humiliated, maimed, or killed on a daily basis. At least some of the other families would put up the pretense of mourning you, if just for appearances.
