pussy!!!
I came here to post that, the first 3 minutes of Colberts take on the election were hilarious.
I figured that out when I hit… ". . . maybe they were just stuffing multiple big, long ballots deep inside each other’s ballot-boxes . . . "
(Who is this guy, Chad, and how well is he hung, anyway?)
Ha. Karl Rove collected $300-400 million from wealthy conservatives, and lost the vast majority of races he spent the money on. Serves the guy who used the persecution of gays in 2004 to win an election right.

And these are the people we are supposed to trust with the economy, people who don’t take the time to hire a mathematician like Nate Silver to determine the election’s likely outcome, or where the money would be best spent to affect the outcome before they plump down $300 million. Maybe if we gave them another tax cut we could compensate for their ineptitude at investing.
All that money, but once the candidates opened their mouths it turned enough of the electorate against them that they lost.
I hope conservatives assume that they lost because they weren’t exclusionary, contemptous and disdainful of enough of the electorate. So far (according to Jon Stewart) that is the official line on fox news. Too many lazy layabouts who want free stuff from the hard working white man.
Same here. Sometimes I have to remind myself that just because someone is speaking it doesn’t mean I have to listen. Clearly she already learned that lesson because she disabled comments on her video after getting feedback she didn’t like.
Enjoy,
Steven
Yep, it keeps coming. I’m such an asshole.

Apparently Romney, Ryan, etc sincerely thought they were going to win because they bought into the concept that mainstream (aka librul) scientific polls were biased, so they ‘unbiased’ their internal polls showing a Romney victory.
Apparently Romney didn’t even write a concession speech because he didn’t think he would lose, he had to make up one right before he gave it. According to that Romney’s team was so misinformed that they were in PA because they actually thought PA was a swing state based on their biased internal polls.
How do these imbeciles convince so many people that the private sector is so competently run? These people (Romney, Trump, the billionaires who gave to Rove, etc) are leaders in the private sector and they are delusional people who are hostile to objective reality.
Poe’s Law strikes again.
TBH, I didn’t look for the Daily Currant byline until I reached
Let’s call it the Pennsylvania strategy. Romney thought he could campaign in PA like McCain did. How’d that work out for McCain? And Obama campagined in Wisconsin, primarily because that is the home state of Paul Ryan. Neither campaingned in Michigan; however, both campaigned heavily in Ohio. It all came down to Ohio. Even Karl Rove got unruffled on election night over Ohio.
Obama campaigned in Iowa and Virginia, and won those states.
Both Romney and Obama campaigned in Florida at the end of October.
Obama also campaigned on late night TV (The Daily Show, The Tonight Show) which might have fired up the youth vote.
And Hurricane Sandy, happening right before Election Day, likely had an impact on the election.
In the end, Romney accomplished one thing: turning Indiana and North Carolina from blue to red. If you can call that an accomplishment.
Wow. That’s … wow.
Romney didn’t turn IN or NC red, he took states that had offered 15-20 point margins for the GOP until the 2008 election and kept them red. It would be like if McCain won Washington and Maryland in 2008, and Obama won them in 2012. Obama and demographics still turned reliably red states into swing states.
Either way, if the Obama campaign believed that mainstream polls were biased because they didn’t like the results, so they ‘skewed’ their own polls showing them ahead and as a result got overconfident and started wasting their time campaigning in Georgia, then I’d be upset. But luckily it was the Romney camp to did that.
Nate Silver in today’s FiveThirtyEight writes that Obama lost North Carolina by 2 percentage points, in contrast to Gore who lost North Carolina by 13 percentage points. He also writes that Missouri was once a tossup state and is now solid Republican (it was known as a bellweather state) and that West Virginia was once left-leaning.
Bottom line: In 2012, Romney campaigned in Pennsylvania like McCain did in 2008; Obama campaigned in Virginia like he did also in 2008.
I was thinking kind of the opposite. This election is a total vindication for the Tea Partiers because, in their minds, Romney wasn’t radical enough from day one. I do agree that the more moderate, ideologically-mild Republicans are in an unfortunate position. But even then, they weren’t complaining in 2010 when the Tea Party was filling their sails with favorable winds. Sleep with a dog, wake up with fleas. Boo hoo.
I’ve seen a picture going around Facebook “comparing” President Obama playing basketball at the White House while people in New Jersey are standing in line for gas. Usually the people posting it are the right-wing crackpotty sorts, but my question is again their internal logic.
If you are opposed to FEMA, and/or government handouts, what precise difference does it make if the President is playing basketball in one location while people wait in line for gas in another? That was all arranged by the state/local governments, I believe, which should make these crazy people happy. And if it was the federal government, what are they expecting? Mr. Obama standing at the pumps giving away the gas personally? Do they really think Romney would have done that? He couldn’t even give away canned goods correctly.
I really hope that the wingnuts slow down in the next week or two. I’m so over it all.
Please God, let this be true. I will feel SO much better going into 2016.
I just want to say, there never was such a ship as HMS Irruncible - that is all
I’m STILL waiting for ted Nugent to make good on his promise to ummm be dead if Obama wins.
A real man would keep his word.
What did they do with your money? They put it in their pockets, just like you would have! What, you didn’t think they would stick it to your because they are Republicans?
Oh my god, I’m addicted. I’m addicted to schadenfreude. Snopeshad to debunk an internet rumor that absentee military ballots were delayed and would have given Romney the election if they had been counted.
American Thinker actually ran with the story before realizing they were hoaxed.
My old man, who is just to the left of Otto von Bismarck, subscribes! Thank you for making my day. Where’s my phone?
