Schlep Timbre (September Mini-Rants)

Small town America does not like its Atheists. Period.

“So, when are you going to move?” is an actual sentence said to me by a Fundy Duggar-type neighbor several houses down.

Wanted to say, “We’re planning on printing up fliers for an Open House that we could hand out at your Wake.”

Yes they certainly do not.

LOL @ Fundy Duggar phrase.

I don’t know what I would do if people came out to me and said stuff like that.

Would depend on my mood at the time.

That is such a difficult position to be in.

I had a similar situation some years ago and all I could do was put one foot forward and try to survive and get through the day.

I’m so sorry. Wishing you strength…you’re going to need it!

I once lost my glasses, found them, put them on, and continued searching. My thought was “Now I can see to find them.” It took me a couple of minutes to figure it out.

{{{Dogginit}}}

Too funny! Sounds exactly like something I would do as well.

It’s colonoscopy prep day for me today. 'Nuff said.

Oh my. Best wishes.

Only had one of these done 5 years ago.

I’m still in the pondering stage as to whether I want a repeat experience.

Fun times.

It’s better than the alternative.

This is my third one. The prep is the worst part of it, unless of course they find something.

I guess what’s really mini-rant-worthy is that I had to buy a box of 30 laxative pills when I only need two for my prep!

(((Dogginit))) That’s not mini at all.

My issue is I don’t have anyone to accompany me and they won’t let me use Uber.

What a load of crap!!!

Ever have someone at work steal your food?

Look for the “Best by” date. You may have enough for the next 14 colonoscopies.
I agree that the prep is the worst, the colonoscopy itself is fine even without sedation.

That sucks, but the Uber rule makes sense. You’ll have been under general anesthesia, and you may not be capable of making good choices, especially with a stranger. What Uber or Lyft needs is some sort of certification. “This person has been certified safe to take you home from the hospital.”

The taxi-company I drive for has a certification, without which I would not be allowed to drive unaccompanied children or patients. Will the hospital have some solution, perhaps a local taxi. It won’t be first time they have that problem.

Yeah well that means no colonsocopy for me lol!

Used the flashlight app on my phone to hunt around for my missing … yep, you guessed it.

I’m with kayaker on this one; you possess fearsome powers & are not to be trifled with.

There are companies that specialize in giving people rides home after procedures, do a search for medical care escorts or health care escorts.
