Scooooterrrr!!!!

Before they cleaned up Scooter’s name for TV, he was Scunt.

Please don’t rip Scooter, beacause he brought pie!

Kermit’s nephew is Robin.
Scooter the gofer is the theater owner’s nephew.

The voice of Scooter is Tom “SpongeBob Squarepants” Kenny, I believe. I’ve never seen the little guy, but I imagine he could get on your nerves, just as SpongeBob does to everyone else in Bikini Bottom.

I’m guessing the only reason he’s with the network is the same reason Scooter the Muppet stays around- nepotism. Everybody at Fox Sports hates his guts, but he can’t be fired since he’s related to Rupert Murdoch.

Maybe Scooter can explain whether he hit the dirt or not.

I finally saw Scooter last night. I think here in Panama they mostly run ads in the slot when he comes on. I’d have to agree with you on the annoyingness factor. I’d rather see the ads, and they’re horrible.

Scooter is the kind of thing that wouldn’t be bad to use on Fox’s Saturday morning baseball show for kids that they show during the regular season (in the same way they have a show for football during football season) but to subject America to Scooter during an actual game is just too much.

What is it with Fox? The glowing puck, Scooter…The only good thing they came up with was the Fox Box, which showed the count, the outs, the innning, the score, and the men on base all at the same time all the time on the screen. Maybe ESPN beat them to it, but I know Fox was the first to use it for national broadcast. I always hated watching a game when they’d just pop up the score or the runners every once in a while so if you came in during the middle you had no idea what was going on. And now they’ve gone from a nice little box to that animated monstrosity that spans the screen for both baseball and football.

Well, let me clarify. The NFL produces a show aimed at basically the teen demographic called NFL Under the Helmet. MLB comes up with This Week in Baseball. I thought it was mostly a kids show, though I suppose it’s aimed more at a general level. The few episodes I’ve caught I thought would appeal more to kids than adults. But if we’ve got any adult Dopers who love This Week in Baseball, I’d love to hear what you think.

I’d like to see Scooter explain a spitball or a Vaseline ball.

I’d like to see him explain that horrible strike 3…no, wait…pass ball in the bottom of the ninth in game 2 of the ACLS.
