Scott Baio is 45, Single, and in need of Career Guidance

Yeah, he’s pretty wealthy, and reasonably famous, and still works as an actor in decently received roles. T’ain’t nothing as most would define it.

Well, rather than nothing, he might have any of a number of communicable diseases… such as hepatitis.

So, he probably needs a life coach and penicillin or other medications.

I question the credibility of this “reality show” even more than most. It seems extremely scripted, very Larry David on HBO. I mean things like when the agent wanted to talk to Baio away from the camera, the blinds were left open and they talked in a spot where the sound guy could easily pick up the sound. And the “life coach”- she’s a lot more of human segue than any sort of professional life coach I have ever seen. OK, OK I’ve only seen two. Basically, her purpose in this show seems to be to send him back to a girl of his past to set up the episode.

Wasn’t this the film Dawg back in the 1980s

I can understand this however. I mean, if you can get a bundle of money for getting some friends, a couple of writers and a camera guy together and planning out a scenerio and poking fun at the genre, go for it.

Can’t you just see the agent trying to get in on the whole thing? “I know, I can act like I don’t like the whole idea. If you can get me on screen for oh, ten minutes, I’ll even pass on my commission.”

I suppose this could be called a hijack, but…

Just so everyone knows, I had an odd dream about Scott Baio last night. I was standing near the door to some fancy shop, when he came out and smiled at me. I said, and I kid you not, “Scott Baio? Aren’t you 45 and in need of career guidance?” If you guys are going to be directing my dreams from now on, at least have the heart to toss a boob or a cake in once in a while.

Click on the link I posted above that loads of a picture of Corey Haim. That’ll get you a good nightmare.

I just realized last night, when describing this thread to my husband, that I’ve been confusing the show Charles in Charge with Who’s the Boss. For some reason I’m singing the Charles in Charge song, but I keep picturing Katherine Helmond and Judith Light and her hair with Scott Baio instead of Tony Danza.

I don’t know about that, but it was the film Broken Flowers (with Bill Murray) just a couple of years ago.

He must have caught Nicolette Sheridan on her tour of teen idols.

Well…pretty shallow.

Ok…so now he’s just like the rest of us except he banged a bunch of hot women

I could never figure what those women saw in him. I wasn’t even interested and I am no beauty.

I’ve been watching it and it’s fairly addictive. That said, the show is totally staged. Far too many coincidences. Still, it’s interesting and he does ask some good questions.

For sure he’s a self-absorbed cretin but at least he knows he is and is doing something to change that.

His little friend must also be a set up, still he’s funny to watch.

Ever kind of floundered around a problem that you needed to deal with, but for whatever reason wouldn’t? You know your friend (not necessarily your best friend because they’re often too sympathetic and too supportive, and too nice, but close friend), who the objectivity to be able to clearly see the problem, and the bluntness to tell you to get up off your butt, quit whining, and do whatever needs doing?

If you don’t have one of those friends, you can pay a life coach to be that person.

The differences? Therapy might explore the roots of the issue, etc. life coaching doesn’t really care. Also, in most areas, therapists are regulated (so the therapists have some level of education, some level of clinic hours, etc.) All a life coach needs is someone willing to pay money for their advice.

Let’s just hope he didn’t catch “Baywatch actress” Nicole Eggert on the set of Charles in Charge .

Scott Baio ought to host The Price Is Right now that Barker is gone.

He has that “game show host sleaze” aura about him.

[HIJACK] That website has some really cool pictures. Michael Jackson was a good lookin’ guy at one time. Nice smile, etc. [/HIJACK]

My guess would be they’re attached and have a S.O.

I agree, he should be a life coach.

Feldman is married and has a kid, daughter I think. Haim is supposedly clean and sober and trying to rebuild his career. They have a reality show (who doesn’t?) on I think A&E called “The Two Coreys.” They acknowledge that their reality show is in fact “lightly scripted.” The show is just awful. Almost literally painful to watch.
