The part of your post I quoted was, in my opinion, very nearly completely senseless. You have admitted that you do not pay full attention to what you are typing, and it shows, Scott, it shows.
Your brain is, again in my opinion, very nearly completely impenetrable. After all these posts, all these explanations, all these examples, you still cannot understand why so many people have an issue with you.
I no longer believe that you are still in this thread in the hopes of learning anything.
Well sure, now he’ll Google it and say that either he’s right or you’re wrong or Google’s broken or giant space llamas have taken over the internet or …
zzzzzzt
brain error…

Why yes, I do indeed agree with Scott Plaid. He makes the best points sparkle with clarity and wit. Why just the other day I was chatting with Zeus and Underdog and we all agreed that the name of the place should be changed to the “Scott Plaid Message Board”.
I said the following: “i would laugh at any jew who claimed to believe in Jesus” Believe, in that case, has a very definite theological meaning. However, apparently, that was not what you meant.
You asked me how. When I told you, you preceded to bring possible scenarios in which a jew could accept Jesus, as a historical figure. I told you how it would not really be possible. Somewhere in the discussion, you asked a question which I misinterpreted. Thus, rather then go in the direction you were asking about, it continued in the vein I mention, rather then how you intended it to go.
Well, for one thing, I “know” when I am the only one who is correct. For another thing, it you keep on using words that have specific theological meanings out of their context. I will bold the relevant parts:
Besides which, Sampiro read your posts the same way I did. Also, it seems as if Polycarp responded to the same thread I read, as opposed to the one you read. However, I might have been wrong about this.
But really, I am a horrible speller, and, as I have already said, unable to see problems with my own posts. Thus, I run it thought a spell check. Why don’t I also run it though a grammar check? I can’t seem to find it in Open Office, that is why. Oh, also, here is a corrected link. A thread about the Sun god’s son.
Why is that interesting? What do you deduce from it? Do you deduce that because the poster’s “logically indefensible claims” went unanswered and unrefuted that the poster won the debate? Because that is exactly what you seem to claim on your own behalf. Please, make it clear to me.
Scott, I came across this thread and WHEW! You are tenacious. Good for you. A few posts back you asked for constructive advice; as someone who has written advertising for years, here is what I would offer:
After you type your post, take a minute or two to breathe–go get a soda, make a phone call–then try to read it out loud. The greater the time between your writing and your reading the closer you’ll get to seeing what the reader sees. There have been many times that I put things aside for a week just so I can read it with a clean head.
Since what we intend to communicate is already in our heads, it’s easy to read over something and assume it makes sense. So when you read things over, DON"T give your writing the benefit of the doubt. Keep your audience top of mind.
I would bet that there are passages you’ve written that seem a little awkward to you, but then you talk yourself into thinking they are fine. We all have a tendency to default to that, but the risk is unclear writing.
Embrace editing. Editing your own writing not only benefits the reader, but you, as well. Sometimes when we struggle to piece a paragraph together and are having a hard time, it is not a writing problem, but a logic problem.
Countless times this has caused me to reconsider my thinking. Things wind up clearer in my head, and subsequently, on the page.
Read good writers. Especially journalists who right in a shorter form. Molly Ivins is very good. So is Ann Coulter (WRITIING, not ideology.) There are many others. I’d pay particular attention to how easily their arguments flow. How clear they make each of their points.
I’ve learned in my few weeks in GB that this forum tempts one to be lazy. I’ve succumbed and have been embarrassed by my own sloppiness, whether called on it or not.
I have been slowing myself down. Remember, the “Submit Reply” button will be there ninety seconds later.
You don’t know what’s wrong. 21 pages of many people pointing out exactly what is wrong. You evidently just cannot comprehend the written word. That’s one thing. Another thing is you cannot communicate via the written word.
Step away, perhaps? See how just one sentence into this and already you are not making sense.
Being or acting? I didn’t know you could use both at once unless maybe being/acting. At any rate, here you are proclaiming your intelligence and fuck even THAT up.
Your posting is preciously wrong? Preciously little was wrong with your post? WTF does THAT mean? Or were you trying to say, “…tell me what, precisely, was wrong with my posting”
Can you not grasp how hard it is for people who use English as their first language to decipher what you are even ATTEMPTING to say??
How many of your posts do we have to break down for you? I’ve broke a few down, not that you would notice. Hasn’t made a lick of difference, you still pump out the same stupid shit. Copping a condescending attitude while challenging people to “break down” your posts isn’t going to go well for you.
You could spell every word correctly and it WOULD NOT MATTER! The CONTENT of your posts is so fundamentally flawed that if a few spelling errors were the only thing wrong, you might get a mild ribbing over it. So you blame it on a grammar checker. Well, you need to blame a syntax checker, a context checker, a fact checker, a content checker, all the things everybody ELSE uses their brain for.
Remember back a few hundred posts ago where you said you would try to alter your posting style? And remember how I made the analogy that putting a Mercedes hood ornament on a Yugo would not make it a Mercedes? That’s what I was trying to say. Changing the “style” of your posts will not help.
So what’s wrong? I think there is a distinct possibility that you, Scott, might just be an idiot.
