And I’m officially an idiot - as well as having the 5K that morning, I’ve triple booked and have Bookclub that afternoon, sorry. I can’t decide whether to piss off the fellow members (only 5 of us) by standing them up for about the 4th time this year, and second time in a row, or…

I’m looking into quitting Bookclub and persuading the babysitter to still babysit for me to go imbibe a few beverages with you guys instead. Will update once successful

So who-all is coming for sure? PaulParkhead and I scoped out Waxy’s for a likely location, and found a table on one level that would hold 8 or so people. It’s just down the stairs from the back bar, which is insufficient information for anyone who’s never been in this maze of a place. It’s in the “link bridge” area of the bar, just to the left in this picture: http://www.waxyoconnors.co.uk/images/Waxys/gallery-wxg/8237.jpg If you find the big organ pipes, it’s to the left as you face them, in the corner just past the big tree trunk. This photo shows that area as having two small tables, but when we were there recently, it was one big one: http://www.waxyoconnors.co.uk/images/Waxys/gallery-wxg/wxg-pipes415.jpg Provided they haven’t rearranged the place again by the time we get there, that would probably be a suitable option.

The back bar is just inside the Dundas Lane entrance, and then if you go around the bar to the right, there’s a little stair down to the table described above. If you’re coming in the front entrance, go straight along to the back and the If that doesn’t suit on the day, we’ll have to find some way of contacting folks. Maybe we can leave word at the Dundas Lane bar so people can ask where we’re located.
Since that new job never materialised I’m going to have to forego it this time. Pity. I was looking forward to being in Scotland again and meeting yiz all.
