Some of us have recently gotten into playing Scrabble over at http://www.games.com, and I got to thinking, during my latest bout with insomnia, why don’t we have a Stright Dope tournament?
So, I hereby throw the little sack filled with letter tiles down and spin the deluxe board in your general direction. Who’s in?

So too could Scotticher, a fellow Seattleite. She had to miss a Dopefest for a real-world Scrabble tourney. She’s probably good.
I win about 50% of the games with Virgin Games Scrabble software set at Level 7. I know – that and a $5 bill will get me a beer.
ok, so it looks like we’ll get enough people for a decent tournament. So, I’m going to put an entry deadline of…say 11:59 PM CST Saturday, July 7, 2001.
At that point, I’ll put together some brackets or something and we can get to the games. It’d be nice if we wound up on a multiple of two, but, if not, I get a bye

I’m in, if the time works out for me. But JFYI, it was ren who missed the DopeFest for a tourney. You associated him with me, hon, because I used to play Scrabble with him by email until they closed it down. 
I even beat him once. He is GOOD! I’ll email him about this when you decide on a time.

I’ve not played scrabble in years. I’d love to play although I am probably quite rusty. I even tried to play in a spades game this week there, however for some reason the applets from that site never load for me.

I’ll play. I joined games.com yesterday, Almost all of the people I played left, so I won by default. I’m actually pretty bad at scrabble. I can be contaced by email, or AIM. My AIM sn right now is skoolskipper102.

I’m getting better. I just scored 54 points for axis, la, ax with the x on a triple letter. Woo Hoo!
