Well, almost all roles so far have had an evilish element although some of these may be standard characteristics of each role:
- Thing Fish’s “die to protect” means he was unlikely to use his powers much
- Peeker’s “find someone being killed by a Screamer” in order to activate his Doc powers was also a little cruel.
- Jpei’s “steal the show for a day” once off power which exposed him
- The politician’s use of the vote buying power on Thing Fish was evilish.
- And finally, if TexCat actually was killed during a recruitment mission, someone else has a pretty good retaliatory power

I was planning on voting for Daphne but that’s kinda out but I guess the next most confirmened townie is Boozy so that’s where I’m going to put my leader vote.

On #2, I think you were honestly convinced you’d caught the scum, in which case you’d have been golden with Town for catching a scum, and of no further threat to the scum (apart from being confirminated).
However, I admit I’m not sure why you would have gone fishing for scum instead of grabbing jpei’s gold today. I wish there was some way we could put it out of your reach.

Actually, I guess having gone public with it I might as well say what it does.
It initially played “it’s a small world”. I left it running overnight as I slept.
Now, it says “I am Thomas Scud. I am a Town [role redacted]. Please help.”
I will send it to someone tonight, who can confirm or deny the message and send their own message.
I’m fine with being leader, and fine if Alka is leader. In either case, this should be a happily uneventful day: now that the cat’s out of the bag (ahem), there’s not a heck of a lot that we can expect in terms of fruitful conversation for the day. I can do a quick leader vote (sometime around, say 4pm EST this time?) in order to whisk us off to another night.
On “evilish” - I see what y’all mean. I was mainly interpreting the word as meaning “evilish to other players” not “evilish to the person who has the role”, but I see where you’re coming from.
I’m really not sure but I really don’t see what we can do about it. If alka is town all his lynch will do is allow a known scum to live another Day, or hope we have a vig. If alka is scum then either we don’t lynch the head screamer and Alka dies tomorrow or we do and he builds some townie cred, good news you’re watching him. The third option is Alka is third party in which case we lynch scum and he builds townie cred but scum have to worry about third party too so they kill him since at point town won’t lynch him before he wins.
There really is no advantage to lynching Alka toDay since two out of the three options have us lynching scum otherwise and if the third options hits we’ll lynch scum toMorrow. I think we have to leave any third party fears to the scum to deal with.
Well, I’ve given it a bit more thought, and I don’t think my initial scenario holds up for one reason: there’s no reason at all for a third-party Alka to tell us that he’d found the Head Screamer’s gold. Even assuming that for whatever reason he decided to go scum hunting instead of first grabbing the easy jpei loot, he could just have, upon finding the scum trove, let the day go forward, let me try to fight off a mislynch, and then grabbed jpei’s bling and rocketed off.
So yeah, I’ll withdraw my objection.

Tom, your discussion of the music box has given me an idea as to what my item might do.
i don’t really care who out of Alka or Boozy gets elected leader. But I figure if I am going to trust Alka that Cat is Scum, then that is good enough for trusting as a leader, too.

It wasn’t a flip. Prior to the end of Day I was speculating on **Drain’s **motivation for asking for her own lynch. Knowing Chronos’ alignment led me to strongly consider the possibility she was protecting him.
Exactly. Speculating on night kills after Night 1 is almost always wasted time. After two Nights, there is enough data to be worthwhile.
Nah, my irritation is strictly due to my past experience with the program and reflects what I said in thread: it is based on an unprovable assumption and is easily manipulated by Scum.
