No night kills. I guess that means scum (and maybe SK or vig) tried to kill Alka, but he escaped first.
Oh, and GG Alka. Too bad we’re down a Town-friendly.

Balls. And Tom saw it coming!
The thing I was wondering about Alka was why he grabbed Gryff’s cash when it really wasn’t necessary and Gryff seemed Townie enough, when he could have been looking for the scum. Ah well. At least he wasn’t a PFK.
But he was a 3rd party, right? That’s why his flip is in green and not blue or red.
Okay. So I made the right decision last Night. I was going to give my item to Alka Seltzer, then changed my mind, thinking he’d be killed. And I’m wondering if he would have been. There were no deaths, but since it seems Night actions trump Night killings, he may have escaped before he was targeted for a killing.
All that having been said, I gave my item to someone else, and I’m curious to see what it does, so hopefully I’ll get a report soon.
Oh, Elect Gryff.
All things considered, a much better night than I was expecting. I’d figured we were going to lose 2 of the Bling Brothers, but I guess our SK and scum didn’t coordinate so well.
Given that Alka was 3rd party, how much of what he said about the rules of bling can be trusted?
I’m willing to believe he played it straight; if Boozy was a fellow thief, he would have skipped town with Alka.
Oh, and since I’m still alive:
Tom Presents the case for the defense:
First, the likely charges:
1 - The “save your ass” post. Frankly, it was posted when I was exhausted from working on DB’s wall; I wasn’t thinking too hard about it. In retrospect, I think I already realized that it wasn’t possible for Drain and Chronos to be scum teammates; thus, having found a case against Drain (see point 2), I figured Chronos was probably innocent. This was not a conscious process, thus I wasn’t able to actually say it in as many words on the day of.
2 - The case against Drain. I maintain that the timing that I saw in my Wall of Words is accurate: at the time Drain made her last post, asking Daphne to block her, there were four votes on FS and only 3 on Daphne, to 7 on Thing. She could have swung the vote close enough that a changed vote by a Thing voter would have saved him (Thing). The weakness in my case that I see now is that I really didn’t take into account that this would not have been at all obvious at the time; it was late & Drain probably made that last post just before logging off or whatever. But there was a real case there.
Now, the case for the defense:
What is my scum motivation for:
1 - being the first person to tell Drain that her “trial by vig” idea for peeker was insane?
2 - voting Cat on Days 1 and 2?
3 - doing 3 walls of words on night 2, including one that found now known Town amrussell to be nearly-certainly Town, one that found Cat to be somewhat scummy and possibly worth a vote, and one that found Chronos very scummy and promising to vote for him?

Did you give the Music Box to Alka?
Elect Tom Scud
At least that way, if you get elected leader, you’ll think carefully about which one of your many trains of thought is the most likely and stick to it. You were right about Chronos but didn’t stick with it, you were right about Alka but managed to convince yourself out of it. Maybe you’ll be right about USC and Scuba and by having just 1 chance to vote, you’ll make the right choice and stick with it.
I was pretty certain Alka was third party but I was almost as certain it was not detrimental to Town. Hence my earlier posting on him where I mentioned I didn’t think his information confirmed him.
Actually I gave an item to Alka last night that I expected to have interesting results… but I got no PM stating success or failure from the Mods.
Probably just means I guessed wrong what another item did…
Now I wonder if the tiara had something to do with Alka (doubt it) or it stopped a night kill aimed at me (I idly thought it might). I am so going to enjoy reading the spoilers on this later so I can get some idea what these all do!
Did you activate it first?
No PMs have been sent, nor will be sent for a few hours due to technical difficulties.
Good game, Alka. Well played. At least us Town can vie for second.
We’re still down one person from Dusk. But at least there wasn’t a night kill. Maybe Alka’s departure overrode the killing? Maybe people got blocked?
After brief thought, Elect Gryff and dole out more interesting items.
I’ll wait until people confirm that they got night-action-result PMs before I say any more.
Yes, but I will not say how at this point in time.
NETA: My reason for doing so is to see what the person who got it has to say about it before I say what I did (and what I think it will likely do, although I could be wrong about that).
<faint voice from the ether>
Thanks for the game everyone, it’s been interesting and played in a good spirit. Just remember, the only two certainties in life are death and taxes.
I did not give the Music Box to Alka. And actually, it turns out we did the right thing Yesterday anyway; if we’d followed my initial advice we’d now be in much worse shape.
Gueri is quite right that my first votes have been way better than my second – you can include my Day 2 votes, when I switched from Cat to Thing.
They say that second is the first loser but I think that we did the right thing in lynching CIAS last Night even if it did give Alka the win. Nice work, Alka!
As far as who to make the leader for this Day, I think we need to consider the blingers that remain as confirmed town so I’m going to vote for Boozy again. I’d rather have town in control then trying to watch the leader for scummy actions.
Elect Boozy
By the way I was just thinking what happens if the politician buys the leader’s vote? I think that would make them a incredibly powerful so that should make it a town power (hopefully) which means we still might have a power role hiding in the vanilla pool.
