Screamers Mafia

/snipped

I’ve had a look through Chronos’ program and found that, in addition to omitting Thing Fish’s alignment, he’d also omitted a number of final votes (IIRC OreDigger’s and USC’s, if anyone cares I’ll recheck). There’s also a section which I feel could be very telling (re: scum team members) but I haven’t managed to figure it out yet. I promise not to bring up the program again unless I make a useful discovery…

@ Tom and Normal, you’re both being extremely useful with the WoWs and analyses. I wish I could give more useful input than a few replies and random comments here and there but have some personal obligations which will limit my time availability for the next few days (if I make it through the night)…

Something that just occurred to me: Maybe the Head Screamer’s power was that he could assume the role of a dead Screamer.

That’s certainly plausable.

Tom, you may have something there.

Huh. That’s a pretty good thought there, Tom.

Meanwhile, I’m curious to see how many kills go through toNight. Only 1 NK last Night - maybe there is still some kind of protective element or role blocking in the game, or maybe both the Scum and the SK/Vig targeted Daphne. If the latter is the case, then we are far more likely to be dealing with a SK than a Vig.

Hopefully Dawn will bring some good clues without hurting us too badly.

I wasn’t deliberately distancing myself from anyone the previous Day – I truly dropped the ball on following this game.

Trust me. I’m a Diplomacy player.

Other possibilities: Daphne herself blocked a would-be killer; we have a vig that didn’t shoot.

Yes.

Ok. Music box timing, then:

The recipient should try to record over my message Tomorrow Night, then they can report back on the results on the Day after Tomorrow, and pass the box on to whoever they think should get it next.

And so it’s possible that Daphne blocked her killer. Do we have any idea who she may have tried to block if it wasn’t OreDigger?

She’d said earlier that she would reveal her block choice just before Dawn, but she didn’t.

NETA And so it’s possible that Daphne blocked A killer. Her killer wasn’t blocked unfortunately…

surely if she’d blocked her killer she would be alive? If a block doesn’t stop the action what’s the point?

I love crossposts.

I thought it was very civil…

That makes sense.

It’s possible Daphne could have blocked any action except her own kill. That would prevent her role from being overpowered in an endgame, and makes sense given her role colour (offering a determined killer a drink is unlikely to work, unless we have chronically alchoholic robots or other killers).

Since the bar was closed, the nightlife had relocated to Gryff’s house. The atmosphere was more muted, though, and most of the group left early to go to bed. Before long, only Alka was left in the bar.

“Hey Alka, were you planning on leaving?”

Alka glanced outside nervously. Could he? He could. “Yeah, I’ll go.”

Gryff started to close up. “You be safe out there, okay?” he said.

Outside, a lone figure prowled through the town square. Could this be one of the killers who had been ripping through the town’s individuals?

“Alright Jpei, time to pay up!”

Apparently not.

OaOW had gotten up early, and was just out on his daily constitutional when he saw Alka messing with jpei’s grave.

“What–are you robbing him!”
“No.” denied Alka, as he worked the crowbar.
“Yes you are! You’re doing it right now!”
“Am not!” he denied again, as he opened it and took the berynium inside.

By this point, Tom Scud had followed, still half asleep.
“I told you!” he yelled. “I told you he was going to betray us all! Watch–now he’s going to run off”
Alka ran back to his house, dodging Scuba and Drain Bead.
“And now he’s going to blast off in some tiny spaceship none of us have seen before!”
Alka’s roof opened to permit the tiny spaceship he had flown off in.
“And now I bet he’s going to rain bombs on all of us. I! TOLD! YOU!”

They waited. But nothing happened.

Alka Seltzer (Government Collector) has collected all 4 caches of Berynium and left! He wins! But the main conflict is not over!

The rest of the players had assembled. Unnoticed, Gryff’s tiara fell off, the center split neatly in half.

It is Day 5.

OaOW is ineligible to be leader.

Election for Leader ends at 12:15 PM EST on Saturday, October 31.

Well. Guess I don’t have to defend myself on the third-party WIFOM charge, anyway.

Hahaha, that’s awesome. Congratulations, Alka.
