My initial reaction was to vote for USC but I wanted to do a WoW on him to be able to provide some solid reasoning for my vote (as he’s requested from both Gryff and Tom). However, partially completed WoW in hand he’s looking pretty townie to me so I’m now also at a loss.
Damn guys, but I am getting more and more confused. I’ll try to revise things before Day’s end, but I can’t promise that - I have an exam tomorrow. So I’ll trust my first instinct and leave my vote where it is, all the while apologising for a lack of input.
On another note, the idea of a mass claim toMorrow if we don’t nab Scum toDay (or toNight, I suppose) is a good one. With 30 million power roles in the game a full, mass claim might prove illuminating, hopefully flushing out the Scum.
I suppose we could get one of our more confirmed players to construct a claim-order list, or use a publically verifiable random event as the seed.
Vote UCSDiver by way of OMGUS. Weak, I know, but it’s what I’ve got.
Mostly I scanned through your postings and couldn’t find a reason not to.
As after scanning through people I found suspicious I couldn’t find any scum tells I decided to go through them again and vote for the first person I found that hadn’t actually been helpful in any significant way.
Of course I could have missed something so feel free to point it out. My vote is pretty floaty at the moment.
If it helps, if you turn out to be Town, Tiltawhirl is the person I will vote for next. Partially for placing an OMGUS vote (itself a beyond weak vote), but more for placing it on the wrong person, one who happens to have a enough votes to be a contender. Possibly skimming here, or pushing a Bandwagon?
OMGUS means your voting for me only because I voted for you. Since I’ve never even mentioned you, I’m curious why you think your vote is an OMGUS?
I was just about to say exactly this, but you said it for me. Low participation and weak voting justification plus getting said weak justification WRONG is just too much. I’d switch my vote now if I thought enough people would do it with me.
If we’re voting Tilta for LtL, OK. But, apart from this vote for USC, I’m unsure of her scumminess. She’s made very few posts and most of them were either lynch or leader votes and defense of them. She FOSed Chronos early on in the game, questioned JC (and GryFf), was WoWed by CIAS, was questioned by Alka, and has discussed Tom’s influence over others. Possibly there was some distancing going on. She has admitted to following the main bandwagons (until now?) but also gave some sort of personal reason for her votes and unvotes. Apart from that she’s simply not been very active and that doesn’t help us right now. (Gryff would say that while I am active, I’m not helping very much either…)
Well, hell. I’d talked myself out of a Guiri vote, and was going to come back and place a reluctant LtL vote on USCDiver, but with that vote I think I’m going to
vote tiltawhirl
Yes, it’s easy to mix up the divers, but you were on my radar anyway for a LtL-ish vote.
Vote Count:
Scuba (3): DrainBead, AllWalker, Norma
USCD (2): Gryff, tilty
Tilta (1): Scuba
Mr. Scud (1): OaOW
Guiri (2): USCD, Boozy Squid
Day ends 2:00 PM Eastern today. In the event of a tie, Guiri gets it. I will not be at a computer until 4:30 PM Eastern, so unless Mahaloth ends it, there will be an extended dusk.
It looks like you listed Tom’s unvote, but not his new vote, which brings tilta up to 2 votes to Scuba’s 3.
I think the two are equally scummy. I’ll keep my vote where it is, with the proviso that if Scuba kicks it toDay and turns up Town, I’ll be voting for tiltawhirl tomorrow, and vice versa.
If I’m still around and we think LtL is the best strategy Tomorrow, Tilta is a prime candidate but I think we may be able to lynch a scum Today and so I’ll go with my initial choice.
@ Tom, sorry for asking you to move your vote for no reason but I really thought I’d convinced you to hold off on my lynch and I really felt USC was a stronger case for scum than Scuba until I did a WoW and came up empty handed - he could well be a SK though, if there is one…

@ Scuba What did you mean by this? I understand you don’t like the outcome of your lynch but what’s wrong with the outcome of a town victory? Or was this sarcasm?
He mentioned earlier that he’s always played Town, and that in the games he’s survived to the end, Town has always lost, whereas in the ones where he’s died, Town has won.
Yikes! I should’ve known that no vote would have been better than that bit of tripe I posted just in order to have a vote up.
Before we do anything hasty, please allow me to claim my role as an Escape Artist. If I am the vote leader at end of Day, I will escape the lynch and town will have no lynch for toDay. There are other aspects of the role which I’m pretty sure would be anti-town to reveal at this point.
It’s been frustrating to have been saddled with an “evilish” anti-town role like this. Probably the best thing for me would have been to be NKed, but I wasn’t sure how to invite that without risking town’s loss of a Day lynch.
I don’t suppose any of them are confirmable short of a lynch?
Also, do you want to switch your vote to your actual OMGUS target, or else explain again what justifies your vote for USCDiver?
Lots of evil-ish roles. But escaping versus being lynched isn’t exactly one of them, on the face of it. It’s still one extra player with status known, same as a regular lynch, unless I’m missing something. What makes that anti-Town?
Escape artist sounds good for you, and limits the effects of a mislynch, so I don’t see a problem with confirming your role with a lynch if we don’t have a better target.
Bah. I don’t believe that claim!

Not to my knowledge.

You’re right-it would be more correct to say that it’s a no Lynch for town rather than a mislynch.
OK, in retrospect that makes sense, I guess. I really don’t know who else is a good lynching candidate at this juncture.
Never mind my last comment actually. I read your “escape the lynch blahblah Town” as “escape the Town”, which implied to me that the game would be over for you if you were lynched. (Hence we’d get alignment and so forth.) If it’s no-lynch with no reveal, that is arguably an anti-Town. Maybe. I’m having trouble thinking straight today.
