Thanks Mods & good game all.

I shall now savor my unearned (by me) team victory

Good grief, I have finally won on a scum team, wonders will never cease.

Excellent play Normal Phase and thanks for the game pedescribe/Mahaloth

Cat was telling almost the truth. There were two Screamer Model 5s, one of them was a Scum-aligned investigator, and the other was the Town-aligned investigator who shows up incorrectly on death. The only part he was lying about, of course, was that he was the evil one and Jimmy was Town (a possibility I’m surprised nobody considered). It was really a huge stroke of luck for us that AllWalker decided to kill him Night 1.

And since someone was asking about it during the night, the night Alka skipped town, we Screamers tried to kill him just in case he was a win-stealer, but failed because he had already left, and AllWalker attacked Gryff, who was protected by that silly tiara.

Hey, congrats, Screamers!!

Good game, everyone!

Damn, good game everyone.

If I’d been online (as I’d hoped to be) to post that I’d blocked Normal Phase the night I was killed, I wonder if anything would have been different.

Probably not, I guess.

Jimmy actually was Town? Too funny. The blind alleys that led me down …

(Also, after Chronos was lynched, I sent an anguished PM to pedescribe saying how much I suck for getting our Roleblocker killed and please apologize to my teammates – he sent back a PM saying something like “Jimmy says no worries.” Yeah, I bet! Jerk. :p)

Actually, Daphne, I think that would have caused serious problems for me, given that there was in fact only one kill that night. It wasn’t due to your block, but it would have looked that way, and I really doubt I could have survived to endgame with that over my head.

I came really close to WIFOM-ing myself on that, before I finally clamped down on the urge.

Well done Normal, think you played a strong game throughout. Your claim was risky, but a good one to deter both your team-mates and the SK from NK’ing you, and your no-kill strategy at the end was inspired. I expect that both town and AllWalker were thinking all the scum had probably been eliminated.

Jimmy’s role (town cop/death miller) was pretty evil, but the clues were there in the colour (in the film, there was a good screamer), so I don’t think it was a gastardly setup. I think the game was fairly balanced, any side could have won at the end.

Town had a disastrous day/night 1. They lost the two most powerful roles (cop and recruiting mason), and the backup doctor was forced into a claim.

Thanks Alka.

Out of curiosity:

What result would Daphne have gotten on me?

So, when’s the next game going up?

Not sure. As far as I can tell, Daphne learned either power or alignment, but not both, randomly chosen.

So if it had come up “alignment” she’d have learned you were a Screamer. I think.

Ah crap! I was afraid of that. We were duped. Well played everyone.

“Alignment = Screamer” is pretty straightforward, but I’m not sure how Normal’s role could have been revealed without her alignment. You can have a Town or Scum roleblocker, or investigator, or even doctor or the like, but “your teammates don’t know that you’re on their team” is kind of a feature of all Town roles.

Daphne didn’t get role information. According to Pede’s notes she got alignment or powers.

If it had come up powers, the result would have been “none” - because at that stage, Normal was powerless.

Well, not quite powerless. She was able to send the rest of us suggestions for our Night-kills.

I suppose that didn’t count as a power; pedescribe did say my being roleblocked didn’t affect it.

What were you guys told about me, exactly? Seems pedescribe had a few different contingencies for the role. And BTW in case you were still wondering, I chose you to be “killed” night Two primarily because at that point I was still trying to signal who I was. Jpei and you were my first two votes. (Jpei was also the person just below me in the player list, so like an underline.) And it just happened I wouldn’t have minded either of you dead, either (I thought you were the SK.) I gave up on that with Daphne Black and just played it straight from then on.

We were told that there was a captured Model 1 somewhere in the town with unknown programming, and that if we investigated you we might be able to recruit you, or you might fight back. Starting with Night 1, when you gave us a kill preference, we decided that you were probably recruitable.

And we didn’t pick up on your recommendations matching your votes, but I did notice that you (and Guiri) backed off on me after the night I was recommended but not killed, and so I figured that the One was either him or you. Cat investigated Guiri on his last night alive, and never got a chance to try you.

I also noted that, after jpei, you didn’t recommend any of the declared power roles. That was a good move on your part: We were planning on killing power roles anyway, so by naming undeclared folks, you narrowed the space we were looking for you in.

Wow…

Okay Normal, you fooled me. I thought the Scum were wiped out, had I suspected they were still around I might have risked NKing you. Nicely played.

Great game, thank you mods. And thank you players, this has been intense. Ah, so close, so damnably close!

FTR, the reason I survived the lynch was because of my power. The Role PM said I could survive an attack, but pede PMed me after my lynch to say that was bad wording on his part.

@ I’m glad it worked out that way – that part wasn’t intentional.

@ AllWalker – Nicely played to you, too. It could so easily have gone differently.
