I’ve asked the Mods to confirm the claim and eagerly await signs of Jpei’s being “the most efficient and leader-like of the miners”. We have either 5 hours or 3 days left to vote - plenty of time…

Huh. I wondered if OaOW might have a power similar to this since he’s ineligible to be Leader.

jpei shouldn’t you have role claimed before using what might have been a useful power under your “Jim Jones” scenario???

Though, looking now, I see no rule against it for this game. Nonetheless it will usually get you lynched if not fried.

This role would have been great at endgame, but at the rate it was going, he wasn’t going to make it to endgame. If he claimed truthfully but didn’t use the power, he’s a prime target for scum to NK. If he claimed untruthfully it’s all bad for reasons I stated upthread. If he’s scum, he’s just now used a very potent scum power. Like peeker, we should accept his claim (provided the mods confirm, which I’d imagine they will) for the time being, but we should not necessarily accept his alignment as the game moves forward from toDay.

I do think he should vote very soon, however–this day has been long enough and we need to move on and get some information. At this rate, half the players are going to claim before it’s over. I think it’s scummy to extend the Day too long at this point.

This is admittedly a quick & dirty (if it turns not to be last-minute because of the day extensioin) on my part but it’s the best I’ve got. BillMCvotes Boozy because Boozy interpreted peekercpa’s “a doctor” claim to mean that there were multiple doctors. Others had made the same interpretation, so why single out Boozy?

Thank you for pointing this out, I am actively searching for a Mafia rule book or post where I can find general rules.

Actually, I have one question for jpei.

If you didn’t like the Leader, according to your claim, you could always take over once. There is nothing from your quoted PM that would stop you voting either. So why didn’t you vote on the Day 1 Leader as according to your quoted PM you could always reverse the result?

Yes, why exactly have you extended the (already long) day?

I could see you doing it just to prove you have the power to avoid swinging, but that isn’t your justification, and actually participating with the game rather than lurking all this time would probably have been sufficient to manage that. In that case I would also expect you to only extended it a short while to prove the powers ability, rather than all weekend.

You have also used up a power that could have helped town towards the end game when a scum controlled leader could have caused us real problems.

Incidentally , this brings to mind a question

What happens if the leader is active, but just refuses to end the day until X happens. (i.e until vote goes his way, or other nefarious uses)

Even if, as appears likely, you are telling the truth this is still an anti-town action. I can’t see how this helps us?

We have a back-up plan, don’t worry. I’m hoping that we never have to get into that, but we’ll see.

I’m not inclined to move my vote at this point, although I do reserve the right in this now freakishly-long Day. jpei has been playing anti-Town and the way he has chosen to use his power is very anti-Town. Also I see no reason why he could not be scum with this one-shot power.

Of these I find Tilt, Cold, and FS to be the most bandwagony and most like to be scum hitching a ride to lynching town. Tilt is pinging as a bit of a confused newbie. Cold has barely been playing with a total of 7 game posts 2 of which were fluff but he did unvote Drain once his accusations were answered. FS has disappeared the last couple of days and so may have just been too busy to post a real vote but I also think that there is too much experience there to be allowed to get away with such a lame vote post.

Well, this game has gone a lot faster than I thought it would so it’s a little hard to keep up. I don’t think I’ve done anything scummy other than not post a lot and hitch to a bandwagon but I’ll try to see if I can read and get a hold of what’s going on. (Why do I so often feel like a student who hasn’t done the reading and then doesn’t go to class and then doesn’t do the reading because there’s no point and then eventually gets failed or something?)
