Thanks Jpei, you’ve proven yourself the most efficient and leader-like of leaders (so far, Allwalker’s vote was rather dubious), few posts but, as time went by, plenty of detail and analysis. I was concerned about the bling comment -awful taste- but all makes sense now. Sorry for causing the Opal flashback. In retrospect, maybe your role wasn’t so cool after all…
But how to vote? The arguments against voting for Jpei, Boozy, OaOW and Peeker (who’s found interesting alternative uses for this board) are very thorough and convincing so I agree to wait and see how their powers play out.
However even Jpei’s vote for BillMC stinks of jumping on a bandwagon (isn’t that a scum ploy?), the guy’s done practically nothing (which in itself may be a good reason to vote further down the line but day 1?) but even so, our illustrous leader gives no better reason?
Luckily we have another 24 hours but the way things are going, with 8 votes on BillMC, my vote probaby won’t count for much. Will I be hassled for not voting as Jpei was (or was my edit reason enough to die?)

Finally the fog clears. Well, some of it anyway. Though I do not believe it’s likely that either jpei or Boozy are Scum.
I’d love to sign on to this, not least because it would mean I could let myself off the hook of analyzing all six hundred of peeker’s posts by tomorrow morning, but there’s a flaw here: if peeker is Town and the only Doctor (possible even if he is telling the absolute truth), then either Boozy is vulnerable or our only Doc dies. Not to mention it requires we have a vig to be certain to prove anything, and we don’t know that we do.
On other topics:

as almost nobody seems to see things the way I do, it’s going nowhere, and there seems little point to just keeping my vote there out of stubbornness. I don’t want to vote BillMc either, because there’s almost nothing to go on with him. One vote with poor/no reason given, and a minimal voting history. I hate to vote on so little if there are halfway decent alternatives, and given BillMc’s current substantial lead, I’m even less tempted than usual. Bandwagons are icky. So let’s do something else.

I’ve been back over his posts for the Day, and really only two things stood out: policy/“encouragement to claim fully” votes on OAOW and Boozy; and being the person who suggested the mass alignment claim. I can just about understand making a policy vote, thought I disagree vehemently as to its usefulness to Town. What I can’t understand is that after a week or so of discussion and it being long since overwhelmingly clear that the vote on OAOW was not going to achieve its desired end, the best thing Chronos – not even remotely an incapable or unimaginative player – can come up with to replace it is … another policy vote?
I find it strange voting behavior to begin with, and even more so coming from Chronos. Two things have been holding me back from voting for him until now. (Well, three, if you count that I’m still suspicious of Drain Bead.) The first is that, like Tom Scud, I have a history of finding Chronos scummy when he isn’t. The second is the mass alignment claim, which I find it hard to believe would come from a Scum player. (Too much risk of exposing your teammates unnecessarily.) However, while re-reading it occurred to me that a third party has no one to worry about but himself, and there’s nothing saying we don’t have any of those. It actually fits quite nicely with the rest of his behavior as a motive: suggest a mass alignment claim as “proof” that he’s not Scum (hence Town leaves him alone), and only place votes for reasons that Scum would find un-threatening (hence Scum leaves him alone, too).
Lack of persuasive Town motive for one action, plus plausible 3rd-party motive for both = vote from me despite misgivings.
Peeker should protect himself tonight, if he’s a pro-town Doc. Similarly, any Vig out there should attack him. That’d get his status at least somewhat confirmed in at least one player’s (other than peeker) mind out there.
Any other town doc really shouldn’t need to bother protecting me. I am not Vanilla Town, but my role is not one of massive value like a Cop. If Doc does want to WIFOM with the scum about the value of my life, they are, fo course, free to.
I just want to speculate a bit on the berynium element of jpei’s claim. I doubt that it’s a Miller tag – I don’t think that in a game not advertised as Gastardly, there would be two Millers, and from Boozy’s sorta claim, I assume he also has something like that second sentence.
It’s possible that it was there just to allow what Boozy just did; a sort of second-rate Mason claim.
It’s possible there’s a third party who wants to acquire x quantity of berynium, either by using a night action to steal it or by killing the possessor and stealing it that way.
It’s possible that the scum, being robots, can use berynium as raw materials to do, well, something scummy. An extra night kill?
Other than that, I’m out of ideas.
Oh, yeah. When do people think Tomorrow’s leader should start the clock? As it stands, Tomorrow will start on Wednesday at about 2; thus the next leader will be elected Thursday at 2. If he cast his vote immediately we would have a day ending on Friday afternoon; otherwise he’d have to wait until next Sunday to start the clock in order to get a weekday finish.
Much as I hate to say it, I think Tomorrow’s leader should start the clock on Monday for a Tuesday finish, as I don’t like having only half a weekday for discussion at the end of the Day.
