Screamers Mafia

Well, you said “obsessive”, I didn’t…

But if you insist, give me another drink and I’ll see what I can do.

(Trying to resist urge for inappropriate use of the :o smiley)

Quoth Alka Seltzer:

I thought I had answered that: I remain suspicious of peeker and don’t think that a doctor claim is a Get Out of Jail Free Forever card, but agree that it’s probably not worth the risk to lynch a claimed doctor on Day 1.

Ah, yes, I had answered that. Post 652, last paragraph.

Right. I’m going to request now that we have a Monday morning discussion on any players that look like they might need to be subbed out, so that we don’t end up with another lynch-the-lurker finish.

The posting numbers are as follows:

peekercpa 106
Drain Bead 98
Tom Scud 78
Boozahol Squid, P.I. 50
Freudian Slit 44
Normal Phase 42
Chronos 42
Jimmy Chitwood 41

While ColdPhoenix and USCDiver have a heck of a lot fewer posts than some of us, I don’t think a dozen posts in the first Day is actually lurking. It’s just not yammering as much as some of us.

Sorry Chronos, I’d missed that.

Mods: Can the scum talk strategy during the day in this game?

Every group can talk strategy Day and Night. That includes the Town, the Scum, and any other secret communicative roles that may or may not be in this game.

Well, I’ve reviewed the voting patterns for Day One, and nothing too dramatic is jumping out, though certainly this will bear further review as we learn more people’s alignments. As I commented at the time, the very quick way** Drain Bead became the vote leader once peeker** was endangered looked somewhat odd…if peeker eventually turns up scum, I will be suspicious of those five people. Conversely, if peeker flips Town, I will be even more suspicious than I already am of the people who continued voting for him even after his claim.

Although I’m growing increasingly disenchanted with the Lynch the Lurker strategy, it can’t be denied that BillMC’s participation was minimal and his vote for Boozy was very poorly justified. I’m guessing there are probably some scum on that wagon, but Bill made it easy for them to justify their votes. Reviewing the BillMC votes, I note that jpei didn’t really justify the vote at all, but just stuck it in at the end of a long post explaining his previous actions. Daphne Black’s vote is also rather vaguely justified, but I suppose both of these folks could have reasonably assumed that people expected they were voting for the same reason everyone else was.

Just about another hour to try to drink enough to wash that AllWalkery aftertaste out of my mouth…

The town spent the night building an elaborate machine-killing deathtrap so as to avoid risks like yesterday’s. Also, there was lots of drinking, as per usual. Eventually, everyone piled into bed, for a few hours rest.

When the day rose, there was hope, quickly dashed, that the night would be somewhat bloodless. Piled high above the death trap was a macabre triangle of bodies.

The top one was Jimmy Chitwood–Model 5 (Screamer Investigator). His body was leaking oil, and he appeared to be facing downwards. Perhaps he was the arranger?

Next was Texcat–Prostitute (Town Recruiting Mason). She was in mid-recruiting, apparently, as she attempted to build up a base off towniness. It’s a shame she didn’t finish…

Last was jpei–Head Miner (Town Governor). After putting himself out like that, there was little surprise that he was there. Depressing, though.

Discussion began again, as the townspeople were determined to find all of the culprits.

Also–Once again, OaOW is ineligible to be Leader again toDay.

Due to the ugly tiara he’s wearing, Gryff is also ineligible to be Leader toDay.

Vote Count:
Gryff (1)

Well. Jimmy had me totally taken in. More later.

Also, 3 deaths. Serial Killer, Vig, scum? Or something else?

Geeze, that was a lot of power roles, on both sides, taken out over the Night. At least we got one scum so far. Now we have two people who can’t be leader, there are some weird powers out there.

I don’t have any opinion on who should be the leader toDay but I’m going to look through the vote patters and see if knowing Jimmy is scum pops out someone I don’t want to lead us.

One immediate note is that Peeker looks a lot more Towny - Jimmy was pretty central in pushing the case against him early.

Arranger? As in, this pile of corpses is supposed to be like some sort of flower arrangement, or something?

So we appear to have three killers. I’m guessing that that’s a Scum team of Screamers, a vigilante, and a serial killer, though I suppose that there might be a Scum bonus-kill of some sort in there. And at least one of the kills is not Scum-controlled, which is some comfort (though I’m a little nervous about vigilantes who kill Night 1, on general principles, and even more nervous about serial killers).

In fact, elect peeker.

…And now I see that Gryff is both ineligible to be leader, and inexplicably has a vote on him already. I’m not sure what to make of that. To clarify at least a little,

Is that phantom vote against Gryff a Leader-vote, or a lynch-vote?

A lynch vote. Sorry that wasn’t clear.

Also, I’d count Boozahol as basically confirmed Town at this point.

Hm. In addition to picking up my early case and running with it, Jimmy also was the first to push the “why is peeker claiming there are multiple doctors” argument.
