He guessed a previously-unrevealed element of jpei’s role, the part about having shiny berynium. And did so in an attempt to help save jpei, a known town, from a lynch.
He actually argued with Chronos about the OAOW vote multiple times during yesterDay’s events. That, along with the fact that he was the one who sort of put my wagon out of commission, were the two things I noticed.
Not sure if it makes me look more Town or more Scum to you guys that he and I were so closely entwined during the day. We both voted BillMC at about the same time for the same reason too. Oh well.

Here’s a link (which I hope works) to my previous wall of words on TexCat. Only two things of note that stand out to me is an early suspicion of peeker and the “scumfight” theory. Which of course I don’t like, but what can you do.
Items since I posted my WoW included a few WTF comments about jpei’s coup, a review of the role-claims, and a vote for BillMC. Not much information to go on.
OK, I’ll grant that Boozahol has (or apparently, had) some berynium, but that doesn’t prove anything about his alignment. And trying to save jpei turns out to have been a pro-Town action, but there’s nothing that says that Scum never makes pro-Town actions. OK, it’s a check in his favor, but it’s far from proof.

I couldn’t imagine why anyone (I assumed scum but realise there may be a SK) would target TexCat when there were at least 3 other town-aligned role claims apart from Jpei’s, each of which, I imagined, would be better targets. Maybe there’s a paranoid gun owner or bomb among us who was approached by TexCat in a recruiting ploy? (I learned those roles in today’s Town 101 lesson)

For that matter, Jimmy could have been knocked over by a paranoid whatever who he was trying to investigate. I think Diver’s probably right that speculating over who could have done the killing isn’t likely to be productive.
NETA: of course, there’s the WIFOM involved in the role-claims: is the (claimed) doc self-protecting, or protecting one of the two other claimed players? jpei, having used his power, would have been a safer target from that perspective, as would other Townies outside of the claimed three. (Even assuming all 3 were town).
Or there is a redirector, or there’s multiple scum factions, or there’s a third party faction, or the Vig is compulsory and took out a lurker. Again this is not going to help us.

Not bad, we got a scum! Yay Town.
I remain suspicious of Boozahol. All we really know is that both his and jpei’s PMs apparently made some reference to berynium and/or shininess. Someone speculated a while back that the berynium could relate to some scum power, PFK victory condition, or the like. For all we know, Boozy could be a PFK whose victory condition relates to killing berynium-bearers, and that was his motivation to keep jpei from being lynched before he could kill him.
Not that I think that particular scenario is especially likely, but the point is that, although I will agree that jpei’s Town alignment counts as a* small* point in Boozy’s favor, I think he is very far from being confirmed Town, and, looking at his play as a whole, he’s still probably the player I’m most suspicious of.
I might not be around before the next Leader is elected. Obviously I won’t vote for Boozy, so…let’s see, why not…

since we now know for a fact that scum have some power other than just a kill power, i wonder if in fact this might color any observations about known Day one activities. Especially, in light of the scum investigator getting bagged.

I don’t think Boozy is confirmed town, but he’s been acting in a strongly pro-Town manner in a lot of ways. For now, he’s a good bet.

I feel like speculating about the kills is not useful, especially in a closed game. However, since we do have a dead scum, we can get some good info (as I see people have begun collating).
Guiri, why do you seem confident that TexCat is the scum kill?
It’s interesting the Gryff has started the day with a lynch vote. What roles do we know of that can do that (the tiara seems like some kind of ‘tag’ which could imply a mad bomber type role, or could be something else – I’m totally unfamiliar with the colour – anyone have any ideas?).
I don’t think he’s confirmed town either, but he’s the closest we’ve got at the moment IMHO.
