Then in that case, why make peeker’s doctor claim so bizarre? They had time and opportunity to fake up a PM if they were so inclined. I just can’t see this as an organized, coherent effort, either way you want to spin it. I can’t account for why so many people are wholly dismissing the simplest and most explanatory interpretation – that Jimmy and peeker were not associated.
Hello all. I’ve received my PM, and will attempt to reread the thread (probably from page 17 or so) on Sunday afternoon. I’ll pay special attention to what ColdPhoenix said, and people’s reactions to him.
My history – The two times I Died early, I was Town, and the Town won; in my other two games, I Survived to the endgame, and Scum won.
I’m slightly inclined to accept peeker’s Doc claim, pending an investigation and a decision to reveal the investigation.
At the moment, I neither confirm nor deny the possession of any Game objects, berynium or otherwise.
@ Guiri. I guess I can see what you are driving at, but it seems like a pretty big stretch to interpret it that way. I think it’s pretty clear that I meant it was ‘great’ not because they were being scummy per se, but because the scummy action would expose them – I’m not sure what other reading would be possible there.

All right, here are the two questions that I find most compelling on either side of the “was peeker vs. Jimmy a scumfight?” question:
I have no answer to this one; it does seem like a pre-planned scum Doc claim would have been more straightforward.
First of all, it was jpei in 822, resurrecting Drain Bead’s suggestion from way earlier in the thread, who suggested vigging peeker. But that’s a quibble.
What this analysis misses is that there were 3 people who had already argued against vigging peeker (Alka at 856, me at 858, and Thing Fish at 861) on the grounds that it would suck to vig a non-self-protecting doc as part of a clever scheme to test his claim. So Jimmy could have figured the vig-peeker wagon wasn’t going anywhere, and decided to go “me too” and snuggle the three of us.
However, I still find peeker’s claim weird as hell, particularly the capital A part of it. I’m leaning towards thinking of him as a third party (which could also explain why he came out gunning for me as a third party, rather than scum, way back when).
I just noticed it as an interesting fact, not as a huge scumtell or anything. The three people I quoted didn’t* just* vote **Boozy **for leader, they all made statements which struck me as greatly overstating the extent to which Boozy could be reasonably considered Towny. I didn’t review all the Boozy votes in detail, so I can’t say to what extent they might have stood out from the others in that regard; I just noticed that these three people happened to be making what I considered huge and potentially anti-Town leaps of faith, noticed that they also had voted for Townie Bill, and decided to throw it out there. It did inspire me to look a little closer at you, and notice the same things that amrussell noted above; time will tell if that was useful or not.

Also noted on vote review: The three people who voted for both confirmed Townies jpei and BillMC at some time: Alka Seltzer, Daphne Black, and AllWalker. Alka and Daphne also had votes on **Drain Bead **at some point.
In other news, the fact that jpei’s body still had berynium on it seems to weigh heavily against the possibility of a scummy berynium-stealing mechanism. This would seem to constitute a point in favor of Boozy’s Towniness.
Also, looking over **Scummy Chitwood’s **behavior vis-a-vis peeker, I must agree with those who have said that if this was scum strategy, it was *very *subtle! So both of my major suspects are looking a little better.

And with recent discussion, it looks like we’re trying to decide whether to lynch Jimmy. OK, it’s great that a Scum is dead, but there’s a whole lot of iocane involved in trying to analyze what he said and did before he died. Almost anything he did could equally well be an attempt to gain direct advantage for Scum (saving a teammate, mislynching a townie, whatever) or an attempt to build Town cred (bussing a teammate, snuggling a townie, whatever). Is this really a profitable use of our time?
Yes. Thanks to Normal’s argument, and a lot of sifting, I’m now reasonably well-convinced that peeker is at the least not on the same scum team as Jimmy.
I’m also a bit more convinced that your needling of OaOW was sound. If Jimmy was agin’ it, and willing to treat it as a Mark of Scumminess that others were for it, then I’m for it.
