I’m finding it very difficult to separate my opinion of Daphne Black from my opinion of Drain Bead, but will give it my best shot. Piggybacking on Guiri’s post 1192, the case against her appears to boil down to bandwagoning, plus unvoting Drain Bead while maintaining suspicion against her for one issue, which she ultimately drops. The latter point is consistent with Scum behavior, I think (so is the former, but it’s too common among Town to build a case on in itself) – assuming for the moment that Drain Bead is Town, a Scum Daphne might not want to be caught among those still left on DB’s bandwagon once it started to unravel; yet she wouldn’t want to be perceived as flip-flopping for no reason, either. All right, I’m with the argument that far. Where it falls apart for me is that that sort of play is also consistent with her being a very cautious power-role, and that fits with what she has since claimed and how she has handled the issues related to her claim.
I find the case against Thing Fish to be considerably stronger. From amrussell’spost 1363, the inconsistency in the two posts highlighted is stark, and certainly leaves the impression that Thing Fish was not sincere in his respective takes on the Drain Bead bandwagon. It reads as the actions of someone whose opinions are shifting according to the needs of the moment, and that profile fits Scum (or heck, even 3rd party) much better than Town, power role or not.
Daphne has claimed a testable power. I would prefer to have heard something from FS, but can’t really see that a Daphne lynch is the best thing for today
I don’t think we ought to put any particular weight at all, one way or the other, on vanilla claims: Vanilla is the most common real role (except in really weird setups like the recent gasterd game), and it’s also the easiest role to false-claim, so a vanilla claim could just as plausibly be true or false.
That said, a point in Drain Bead’s favor, that I don’t think anyone has mentioned yet: She was the first to cast a vote toDay, after several days of nobody voting. Really, we should all of us be ashamed at letting the votes go quiet for that long, but I think a Scum would probably not want to break the silence any earlier than needed.

May I ask anyone who intends to claim, wear a rubber body suit, do a party trick or give a good reason why we shouldn’t vote them (especially **Thing Fish **) to do so before 6pm EST.
Some of us are based outside the US and won’t be around till 5:35am. I really don’t want to be held responsible for a mislynch or considered scum for not moving my vote just because I’ll be in bed and won’t see the final hours of this Day.

Yeah, I’m not too pleased with the time of the vote either. I’m well in bed a couple hours before then, what with the baby who wakes up between 5:00 and 5:30 most mornings.

My role has a minor variation from the traditional Doc role, which I don’t think it would be pro-Town to reveal at this time.
PS No, my PM contains no indication one way or the other of whether there are other Doc-like roles in the game.
I do appreciate this game is very difficult to keep up with (it should be more manageable in a Day or two), but:
FS is being incredibly anti-town by not participating, it’s really screwing us over as it’s preventing us from resolving part of Daphne’s claim. That adds more noise to the game, making it even more difficult to keep up with. She’s made dozens of posts in other threads in the last few days. I don’t want to lynch her toDay, as that will lose us some crucial info. If she doesn’t get back into the game very soon we’ll have no choice but to lynch her.
USCDiver and OreDigger haven’t been active on the boards for several days.
Tiltawhirl promised a content post yesterday, but hasn’t delivered yet.

I haven’t had time to review the case against Thing Fish properly. I think two doctors is extreamly unlikely. Of the two, I’d prefer to lynch Peeker. His theory about him being blocked to ensure the kill of TexCat makes not an ounce of sense, and his vote on Boozahol can’t be justified.

Would a politician be a Town or scum role? Buying Thing Fish’s vote as he’s already in the lead to be lynched seems a waste of a bought vote but to force TF to vote for himself is quite scummy, no?
i’ve also gotta run. won’t be back until after Day end. and now that i see that fishy has also claimed a doc i have not doubt that those non town elements might very well use this to switch their vote. i would only implore that when i flip town doc that you don’t knee jerk vote fishy. i am convinced that there are more than one protective role(s) in this game (my term for doctor). now he might very well be scum but he could have also gotten assigned field medic as well as i did based on certain conditions in my pm (which to reveal would give way to much information to scum). also go back and look at the insance references. there is certainly a clue there. i don’t know exactly what but i think it might very well be key.
