I think the “he’d” and “his” in that first quote of yours refer to Boozy and not ThingFish. I went back and looked at the posts around peeker’s claim. Boozy calls him crazy a couple of times, and peeker asks Boozy “are you insane”?
Yeah, stupid pronouns and punctuation!
I found that Boozy post too and it explains why Peeker decided to visit Boozy on night 1 but I don’t see why Peeker originally suspected Thing Fish was the crazy survivalist. Is there a breadcrumb I’m missing?
After Thing Fish’s first claim, sure. But before then? Peeker seems to be implying that we all should have picked up on the references to insane but I don’t see how anyone, bar Thing, could have understood what he was on about and so, after Thing’s first claim, why not ask in a more direct way? That could have confirmed both of them (to an extent) and possibly saved a mislynch.
Yeah, there’s still something missing in what peeker is saying.
Something pings me about this list. As usual for me, I don’t know what yet. (I’m leaving FS off this list as she’s AWOL)
What do MafiaScum veterans have to say about players who are in neither of two consecutive bandwagons? Are these one-off or non-crowd players more likely to be unswayed by crowds, or is it reasonable to suspect a Screamer staying out of a crowd?
It also occurs to me that given the nonstandard (and non-gasterd) power roles we know exist, it’s possible that somebody has a retaliatory role (if they get lynched, one / some / all player who voted for them gets Killed). It also occurs to me that this is just as speculative as Day 1’s thought of a Lie Detector.
If there are few killing powers in the game, there might be powers like this just to keep the game from dragging out too long. I have never seen it in my limited Mafia experience, but then I’ve never seen recruiting Masons either.
I have a rough idea for running my own Mafia game, where the Survivalist role would have a retaliatory power. So if I can come up with it, so could pede. (And I’ve never run a Mafia game.)
In the end, though, speculation is nothing more than wild guessing.
I’ll have to block off Monday evening and FINALLY get caught up.
Meanwhile – I need drink, badly. Seeing as this mining colony is going to Hell in a handtruck, I’ll have a Triple-Six please.
Since its night, here’s Peeker through a Markov text generator.
actually that was quantom. neta: when chronos pops back in a lynch and the next leader that votes in such a non town fashion can we please ignore it and just because there is no downside.
i am town, that i tried to leverage. shoot noone agreed to the exten that they want to talk to me and let the other thing that is odd about this board, not bad just odd. off board when i went down this road earlier.
i attempted to visit boozy Night one. yasee i had a role blocker, no brainer, block and whack. only trouble if town had a piece of knowledge, i am town, that i got all fucking better they were whoopee.
shameless promotion: come play idle’s board. those folks are brutal. kind of didn’t expect fishy to be back to explain more fully in a sec.
everyone turn to the extent of calling folks in san antonio to see if they are at all congruent with what they may have received. and for the non town fashion can we just fracking lynch them as well.
so anyways when fishy flipped i was blocked because more information is better than less, my two cents and ymmv.
i posted the pms so that our town investigators get busy tonight. if you aren’t them then you’ve gotta go.
also, i don’t know. maybe there never was a medic and couldn’t do shit until i either sat with someone visited by a screamer or found the insane references and even the survive reference. my first choice was fishy but i kind of didn’t expect fishy to also be protective hence my delay in putting it all on me so that anyone who is in there group (notwithstanding some late joiner by some mechanism) they, i don’t know if scum have a hell of a lie detector as defined. to be airborne and am instead sitting around wondering if i will absolutely not vote for today is fishy.
i still think boozy scum for what now would be my move. and if you haven’t already looked at tom, chronos, allwalker and amrussell those are the latest.
must have a hell of a lot of different ways.
so you know fishy to also be protective hence my delay in putting it all game and i swear this is not a standard set up. so if i also, i sure that doesn’t make sure hope (i know as the As, the next leader that he might very well use this board seems less in direct conflict with that vacuum cleaner). You are more to lose calculations need to string me after Day one protective hence my two plus two all fracking minute. is important. i was a previously determined outcome and did yaknow. metagamey as well.
so of fact get a doc i know fishy to come.
what the food on rescheduling.
i believe
Trying to sort my way through Peeker’s claim and the implications atm.
Classic! Love the vacuum cleaner reference!
Wow, that’s almost as coherent as his usual writing. What’s the history length on that, two words or so?
Oh, by the way, peeker, since you seem to use the word a fair amount, there’s no ‘c’ in “frak”. It’s a four-letter word.
Alright, I’m back. I have no excuses. I simply could not keep up. It’s poor play on my part. I inquired about getting a substitute when it became clear I wasn’t able to contribute as much as I’d like, but I was told there would be no more subs. I’ll do my best to keep up better Tomorrow (if I’m still alive), but I’m also going to be out of town Wed-Fri.
Again, my apologies to the group.
Welcome back to the game. When you get a chance, please post your thoughts on the events of Day 2. Town could do with a fresh pair of eyes to stop us from lynching each other again!
(snip)
Is it any different?
Oh, in response to CiaS: I’m in the midwestern US.
Also, several long posts will be incoming c. 9 PM Eastern.
This post by Chronos (1498) reads wrong to me. He says he’s suspicious of peeker and sees no good reason for the bandwagon against Thing Fish, yet goes on to place his vote back on Daphne, where it can do no good (from 2 to 3 votes, versus TF’s seven). This was less than two hours before the end of the day, and there was a wholly inactive player sitting right there with four votes at the time (FS). I haven’t been able yet to go back and find the context of Chronos initial vote on Daphne, but literally every other vote he has made so far in this game has been a null from the point of view of accountability; and this one in particular did nothing to advance the cause of someone he seemed to believe was likelier Town than not, and a power role to boot. It’s extremely cautious play – too cautious, from my perspective – and does not seem characteristic of him. I still consider him a likely candidate for third party, if we have any.
I’d also like to know what happened to Drain Bead’s suspicion of Chronos. It was emphasized so much through all the talk about the mass alignment claim, then apparently just dropped completely.
It’s still there, floating around in the background, and I had the exact issue with that vote as you do. I thought my case against Daphne was more solid than my case against Chronos at that point, and had actually planned to revisit it in the Morning.
NETA: By “it” I meant my case against Chronos.
As I said, I voted for the person I found most suspicious. And the reason I find DaphneBlack most suspicious is that I don’t believe her role claim: She claims to block folks by getting them drunk, but the people she should supposedly be blocking are robots.
and this is the whole logical thing kicking in again. i guess that’s just the way you approach this game, meh.
oh well, for the people giving me grief tough luck. i had a kind of all right role and i have played it as well as i know how. as mentioned earlier i am always an in your face type of player but when i have knowledge, probably more so. also, since i was half assed i really didn’t run a real risk of hurting town if i got NKed. matter of fact that would have been a net benefit because at the time i was operating under me being a back up to a full doc. and as i have said now i am not sure. so maybe i just got lucky as frack. because as long as i was alive the full powers could go about their business with impunity. maybe that’s why i get so lucky and win a lot of these things. i have no problem giving myself up for the team i am on. i’ve been a scum power when i played that power even though it screwed me because it saved a couple of team mates. shoot just recently i was a witch in c3 and kept the attention on me so that the others could go about their business even thought i knew it made my shelf life unstable (get it another nuts reference). i just do what it takes for my team to win.
remember that everything i have done, thus far, has been because i either had to witness a screamer hit or find the insane survivalist to get “powered up”. when you get those kind of roles everything, and i mean everything, starts to take on a different light. basically it was going to be better odds to find the insane one in my opinion.
back to finish up in a bit.
