Screamers Mafia

Oh Jesus. Sorry about the typo, Tom. Freudian slip.

Yiiich. I had stuff come up and have been away from the boards all week. Much apologies, shimatta, slicha, &c. :smack:

  • I have nothing to report on the doily. I don’t even have a message saying that I received the doily or anything else.

  • I am going to catch up the best I can from page 34 on today. Meanwhile, just so I’m not thoroughly absent:
    Vote No Lynch
And I expect to change that vote.

Eh. I’ve been called that by better.

Heh, I’ve nearly done the same thing about fifteen times myself. It’s all peeker’s fault.

I’m working on a WoW on Guiri; I think somebody should do AllWalker, too. Guiri points out his leader vote on Day One avoided all of the current bandwagons in favor of a go-nowhere vote on Chronos; while that’s not scummy in itself, it does remind me that AllWalker is too good to let fly beneath the radar.

Vote Count:

Gryff (1)
Chronos(9): Oredigger, USCDiver, Tiltawhirl, Gryff, DaphneBlack, DB, CatInASuit, OaOW, Boozy Squid
Scuba Ben (1): Guiri
Drain Bead(4) : Tom Scud, Normalphase, Alka(leader), Chronos
NL (1) Scuba_Ben

Day ends at 1:34 PM Eastern today.

Yeah. I’m a bit burned out on walls, but I might take a look at that. Also, I might take a look at OneAndOnlyMagicBag.

OK, wow on One and Only

(is declared ineligible by pedescribe; various speculations ensue)

229 - is ineligible because of role; uncertain whether to claim; asks for comments and suggestions
231 - considering claiming because of “other aspects of my role”
243 - elects AllWalker; doesn’t think it’s important who Town elects
253 - part claims are bad, but my part claim was forced by game mechanics
300 - votes jpei for not voting in leader contest [2nd vote on jpei]
333 - responds to Drain Bead re: whether he was forced to claim, notes that he would also be ineligible tomorrow
369 - is town aligned; watching peeker discussion; surprised by Chronos vote
592 - agrees with Daphne Black that he wants to hear Drain Bead’s explanation of why it’s bad if Chronos is trying to fish for third-party and second-scum-team roles
633 - “I’m not feelinfg the Drain Bead case. I was interested when she wouldn’t declare alignment, but to have stuck to the guns for so long, garnishing so much attention, when a simple “I am Town Aligned” would have made it go away…”
678 - asks peeker for his role title (echoing others)

(jpei claims)
702 - “jpei’s claim does explain the lack of voting from him. I can even understand the use of the power as we were getting quite close to day end, though I would have preferred a gap to see what people did before using the power. I am waiting for a mod confirmation that day end has moved before I unvote.”
716 - unvotes jpei
852 - thinks we shouldn’t worry about Day 2 end time until Day 2 starts.
859 - "I am not feeling the Bill lynch, so will not be joining that train. Having looked around, I can’t see a really good prospect to place my vote on. People of interest tomorrow, from my pov, would include peeker, Chronos & CIAS. Jpei’s monster post above had me put him down as town. "
(end day 1)
935 - fluff
995 - elects Boozahol
1151 - (to Tom Scud) “I’ll need more than one opinion before opening that bag.”
1229 “Need to do a full re-read. Daphne feels scummy to me, but I want to go back and put some flesh on the bones of my suspicion.” [at this point Daphne already had 3 votes]
1232 “Not a great defense. Presumes you will always play the same way and never change play style.” (in response to Daphne commenting about her previous play style as scum)
1237 asks Daphne if she has investigation results to share
1264 - WoW on Daphne Black. Thinks she was trying to have things both ways on Chronos; Drain Bead, also not impressed with vote on BillMC. Votes Daphne.
1270 - “I will claim, either when I think it is the most pro-town thing to do at the time, under pressure of lynch, or if a large number of the town wish it.” - may change vote if events warrant it.
1342 fluff
1346 Notes that a Daphne blocking Drain plan has problem in that if Drain and Daphne are both scum, Drain can give Daphne a clean bill of health.
1348 On TexCat’s cause of death: "Wouldn’t an existing mason who knew the identity of a scum come forward? In other games I have played, recruiting mason’s start out alone. "
1357 fluff
1435 “The only info i would have wanted from Daphne is any role info on FS. Since Daphne has none, I see no point in pursuing this.”
1444 “Daphne has claimed a testable power. I would prefer to have heard something from FS, but can’t really see that a Daphne lynch is the best thing for today” Unvotes Daphne

(end Day 2)

1523 "Change this to didn’t have a vote placed at nightfall. Not the same as not voting at all the entire day. " (wrt his not having an end of day vote)
1526 "In previous games I have played it [politician] has been a town role, but that doesn’t mean it always has to be. "
1529 asks Boozy for his reasoning on Thing Fish vote
1626 elects Tom Scud; convinced Alka and Boozy are on same side; not sure that side is Town.
1691 “My elect vote is not a trust list. I don’t think it matters much who is leader at this point in the game. Seeing what they do with it though may provide data points.”
1719 and 1720 - criticizes USCDiver’s criticism of Chronos for bringing in the program; NETAs to vote USCDiver for his “me too” on Chronos plus the program issue.
1721 - unvotes USCDiver (with wrong color ink), having not found anything scummy in his other posts. [note: though these three posts are sequential, there was a half-hour gap between 1720 and 1721]
1722 - “We all need to think about the ramifications of a politician being in the game, combined with the leader mechanism.”
1741 - fixes color error on unvote
1743 - fluff
1788 - “What would following this plan achieve?” [Drain Bead’s “lynch me” plan]
1856 "Right now I would be OK with lynching DB or Chronos. I think that the Chronos lynch gives us more information. "
1872 - re information is thinking of Tom Scud’s impassioned defense of Chronos.

Notes: I was wrong here; I’d had an impression of someone skating along and using tl;dr as an excuse to throw in some late bandwagon votes and otherwise not contribute.

Instead, he contributed substantially to the Daphne discussion, and his vote/unvote on USCDiver shows some independence of bandwagons. Not having an end day vote on record would normally be pretty scummy; in this case, I think his reasoning has been fairly solid on that ground. I’m still nervous about the magic bag, but given that he’s been reasonably townie otherwise, I’m okay with that.

Apologies all for the shameless plug.

New game starting on idlemafia being run by me of all people

One slot remaining. Boozy, I dare you

On-the-job fires are quenched for now, and I’m sort of caught up for this week.

Unvote No Lynch

So you openly admit to playing Follow the Crowd. I find that technique has landed me in trouble before. Maybe you have a better way to play it than I do?

And you didn’t even vote for yourself until a later post. Drain Bead, why do you want to be lynched so desperately? Are you a Jester role, who wins by being lynched?

We’re close to the deadline, so the lynch is all but certain to be one of these. But the two cases don’t persuade me.

And so Drain tries to force Chronos into claiming. It seems to me that claiming should be the player’s own call.

The weakest claim possible – but I claimed Ordinary Survivor in Lost Mafia, and that helped convince people to look elsewhere. (It didn’t help. Survivors got killed on a bad assumption.)

Based mainly on Drain Bead pushing Chronos to claim:

Vote Drain Bead

We had 13 hours of silence here today. That sounds like voters for Chronos are happy to leave their vote there even after his claim.

I don’t want to decide who gets lynched tonight but it’s only fair that, if there’s a last-minute swing, my inertia doesn’t get it the way.

Unvote
vote Brain Bead

Still 9-6 on Chronos.

While we’re waiting – did anybody receive any General Store merchandise last Night? I didn’t see any mention of anything being received.

I think that leaves AllWalker as our only non-voter.

Who changes a vote after a vanilla claim?

People did just that, in Lost.

The half dozen people who did so on Day One regarding Drain Bead? But then nobody’s been stepping forward to say Scum probably wouldn’t claim vanilla, this time around. Chronos isn’t fighting as hard, either.

@ Ben: Alka stole berynium from gryff, confirmed by the latter. (That it was now missing, at least.)

Also that was Day One, when people didn’t have a whole lot to go on anyway.

tick…tick…tick…ding…

Maybe Today was Scum stirring the pot? When will the card flip up?

Next hour or so; I can’t remember exactly.

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part

Alka voted at 12:34 yesterday, so it’s whenever pede or mahaloth gets around to it.
