screensaver software

i’m looking for some software that could use the pictures in the “my documents” folder as the screensavers images, automatically re-sizing them to proportionately fill the screen. anyone have any ideas?

Windows has a standard screensaver all ready installed that gives you a slide show of all your pictures in the “My Pictures” folder. Have you tried that?

I’ve just had a look at it, you can specify which folders you want the slideshow to come from, you can tell it to resize small photos, and to use a specific amount of screen space for each picture (e.g., 100%)

Using a screen saver supplied with Windows (as 1920s Style “Death Ray” suggests), where possible, is hugely preferrable to installing a third party screensaver; a good number of free screensavers on offer out there are actually trojans or other malware in disguise and the ones that aren’t actually malicious will often make the system unstable.

I have “create a saver” by Howie’s Funware. T’was free many, many moons ago and does exactly what you’re looking for. If you cannot find with google, email me @ rsschen@aol.com and I will upload the install file for you.

gah! forgot to specify windows 2000

Well, this program has worked well for me since Win95 up to WinXP. Perhaps if you checked out Howie’s site they may have a different (newer) program there. Mine copy is, like I said, really old. It’s a great program and allows me to use all of the digital pix of my kids as my screensaver. You can change the frames, add words, whatever.

Geez, sounds like I work for them! I don’t, but have really enjoyed this freeware program and distributed it to all of my friends.
