I don’t care how they see themselves.
They are effectively voting to end democracy in the US to bring in the white, cis project 2025 utopia. Which is plainly a fascist manifesto.
They can see themselves as mother Theresa for all I care; they are the closest you can get to being Nazis without living in Germany in 1939. They want to vote for a guy whose own chief of staff calls a fascist. Who openly admired autocrats like Putin, who daydreams out loud of using the military to round up his opponents.
They (MAGAs) are the enemy.
Closer to hooligans than simple fans. If your devotion to your team short circuits your reasoning and morality then you are a menace. They may not view themselves as racist, but their leader uses racism to rile them up, and they cheer him on when he does so, so if Trumpism is fundamental part of their identity then so is racism.
I was thinking more along the lines of endoscopy.
