I know that the elderly Angloid-type woman was suffering from kidney failure, but what illnesses did the kid and the Hispanic lady have that resulted in their demises?
Ok, you asked for it:
The young surgeon discovered a tumor in the kid’s scrotum during the hernia operation. The hernia operation must’ve gone ok, because the surgeon had to tell the kid after the surgery was over. I think the death occurred when they tried to remove the cancer.
The Hispanic lady died from a blood clot.
As I understood it, the kid had some kind of tumor, I think they said lymphoma.
The best I could understand, the Hispanic woman had Lupus, and had developed some kind of blood clot. I can’t say for sure, it was very hard to understand what they were saying.
I enjoyed the episode, but the problem I had was that two of the patients died too suddenly. If the Hispanic woman had a blood clot, I can understand her dying suddenly. But the old woman with kidney failure - they made it seem like she died two hours after deciding against dialysis. That’s doesn’t seem right. Also, they made it seem like the kid died a few hours after the tumor was discovered. That’s not too believable either.
I think they were trying to imply that time passed with these two patients. We have the doctor calling the kid’s father, and the father will come to the hospital “later” to discuss what’s happened. You also have the doctor becoming his friend, and the wheelchair bowling. If you just look at this plot, you could imagine it stretching out over several days, or even longer. But then it’s all tied into the Hispanic woman, who obviously dies the same day she’s admitted.
A good episode, but I felt like they were trying to hard to get the ending they wanted. Sorry for rambling on so long!
Thanks a bunch.
