Scrubs moves to ABC - It's Official!

The show can only get worse with another season, given their current trend, but at least it will give them an opportunity for a more fitting finale.

I’m not a fan of how Scrubs has been going most recently, but I loved the first few seasons and it’s a really great show overall. I’m glad it will get a chance to have a proper ending.

Although I agree it’s not as good as it once was, it’s still a very good show IMHO. I’m glad it’s having another season. I just wish they’d put more of the focus back on the comedy rather than the drama of it.

We must be watching different shows if you think there’s been more drama than comedy lately. I can’t remember the last time this show actually focused on the fact that these characters work in a hospital. Probably hasn’t been since season 3. Every once in a while they’ll have a story revolving around a patient, but for the past 3 years we’ve basically just watched as Turk and Carla becoming the know-it-all, holier-than-thou married couple (and no, it wasn’t really that funny when they poked fun at themselves to that effect in the finale) and we’ve watched JD and Eliot become caricatures of themselves.

JD in the beginning was a slightly quirky, dorky day-dreamer who’s biggest flaw was that he cared too much. Now he’s just an incompetent buffoon who can’t even put his pants on in the morning without tripping over himself. I continue to watch the show mainly for Janitor and Cox, and also for the sake of closure, but the decline of the shows central characters has been painful to watch.

Perhaps drama was the wrong word, but there seems to be a lot more about JD and Turks kids, Dr Cox and Jordans relationship, Turk and Carlas relationship etc. It’s fine if there’s plenty of jokes during those bits, but now they just seem to have odd jokes in between character moments.

I think they went off-track when they creators decided to have every frickin’ character on the show start popping out babies. Since the show started, Jordan has had 2, Carla one (and is ready for another, despite Turk’s single gonad), and JD and Kim have had one as well. And let’s not forget Elliot constantly whining about having a baby. Enough already!

I was thinking about that the other day. How I can actually like a show, when I loathe the main characters. JD, Turk, Elliot, and Carla have always been annoying as hell. But Cox, Kelso, Janitor, Doug, Ted etc, make it one of my favorite shows ever.
