Scrubs renewed for two more seasons! Ar. Dev. for one!

Yeah Baby, Yeah!!

and

After so much bad news this year and last regarding good shows getting the axe, a little good news for once.

Yaaaayyyyy!

Scrubs is back for two more years. Of course, knowing NBC, it’ll change timeslots 13 times, be put up against American Idol, and they’ll fire all the current writers and put in the proverbial monkeys with typewriters. Not that I don’t trust NBC. It’s just that I don’t trust NBC.

Hm. What shows are you thinking of that have taken a nosedive writing-wise? I was under the impression NBC stayed relatively consistent with their writers.

Great news, though the news would’ve been better is “Heather Locklear’s airport-set saga LAX” was actually how I first read it:

Heather Locklear’s airport-sex saga

Yeah to my two favorite shows. This means that Elliott and JD have sex at least two more times, then, huh? Since they do it about once a year?

Nice to know that there is SOME hope for network tv yet!

Big Scrubs fan, here! I am THRILLED that this renewal guarantees syndication (where I prefer to watch most shows).

I often forget it on Tuesdays, but every time I catch it, I remember that I should be more loyal to my favorite show.

I can take or leave Scrubs (although it did give me one of my favorite sit-com lines*) but I’m majorly glad to see Arrested Development renewed. There’s never been an episode that didn’t make me laugh out loud and I rarely laught out loud at TV; their throw away lines are funnier than most show’s biggest punchlines. I hope Liza Minnelli will be back, though the mother is certainly an evil enough biatch to carry that portion if she doesn’t and Jeffrey Tambor is brilliant in his role. (“Ahnyo!”)

*That line is Dr. Perry’s: *I’m gonna go ahead and give ya a little something I call “Perry’s Perspective”. 1. If the guy in front of me in the coffee shop can’t decide what he wants in the 30 minutes it takes for him to get to the register, i should be allowed to kill him. 2. I’m fairly sure that if they took all the porn off the Internet, there’d only be 1 website left, and it would be called “Bring Back The Porn”. *

I have loved “Scrubs” from day one, but the move to Tuesday has been a pain. Who watches TV on Tuesdays? That’s “Frasier” country…

I don’t enjoy “Arrested Development” but one of my kids does. At least BBCAmerica has brought back “Coupling” Sundays at 10:20 so we don’t fight over the TV at 9:30 anymore.

*Scrubs * was on directly after Frasier, on the exact same channel, so if you watched one, you might as well watch the other. Or did you mean that since *Frasier * was so crappy, you were afraid to turn on the tv on Tuesdays? Because I am with you on that.

Great news. I’ve always wondered, though, how they’ll expand it outward. They’ve been pretty faithfully year-for-year, and an internal medicine residency is three years long. “ER” always just makes them into attendings, but that wouldn’t be nearly so interesting, IMO. I guess either JD or Elliot could be a chief resident, or one or both could do fellowships of some kind. Or they could ignore that little fact entirely, which is the option I’d vote for.

(A surgery residency is five years, so Turk and The Todd are good for a while.)

I’ve said it before–Scrubs is the most realistic portrayal of life in a teaching hospital yet committed to paper or celluloid*, and if you think that’s an odd thing to say about a hillarious and somewhat surrealistic half-hour sitcom, you haven’t spent much time in a hospital.

  • The House of God is close. Each reveals its own truths.

A big WOO-HOO!!! on both counts!

I would prefer Scrubs back on Thursdays, though. But I’m awfully glad for VCRs, given than I’m an avid fan of both “Scrubs” AND “24” (same time slot on FOX).

Also, I got into Arrested Development a few episodes late, but that’s a great show – and the laughs are often much more subtle than your every-day run-of-the-mill sitcom, and all the better for it. Probably the smartest two comedy shows out there on prime time TV today. Glad they will both be back! (I figured Scrubs would be back, but I was a little worried about Arrested Development).

Nice to see “Tru Calling” squeak into a second season. Having killed off one really weak supporting character, packed off another really weak supporting character to England, added a hateworthy pair of villains (Tru’s father and Mr. 90210) and set up a nice story arc, the show earned a chance to keep going.

I do enjoy scrubs. Elliott is a major babe, even if she doesn’t call anymore now that she is famous…

I am worried about my quality TV time. I usually only watch sitcoms and there are very few good ones left. Glad that this one was renewed.
