I actually thought week 1 was kind of weak, and that maybe they lost their mojo, but both episodes were pretty funny last night, and they injected some of the heavy stuff, which I like, too.
Everytime Kelso started laughing at the “Sacred Fart” joke, I was laughing right along with him. He goes, “that’s classic”. It is.
Funny scene when Eliot and Carla ran into Dr. Cox and ?? in the bar.
The triatholon stuff was a little lame, but it was funny seeing JD standing there in his speedo going, “why is everyone wearing a wet suit?”
I play Scrubs on my DVR last night and there was a flash that said Scrubs would air at 3:30 and 4:00 in the morning to make room for a telethon of sorts for kids born with lip and facial deformities!
Fortunately, I didn’t wait for the next day to watch it and programmed my DVR to record 3:30 to 4:30. I hope it worked out.
I was pissed.
It isn’t like I like in Pig’s Knuckle, Montana. A media market that has no effect on the ratings.
I live in freakin’ HOUSTON! How is Scrubs gonna get ratings when you take 4 million people out of the potential viewer pool?
“You’re a mexican apple thief, and I’m the daughter of the cider mill’s owner. You pull me into one of the distilleries and even though you know not a word of English, you teach me more about love making then I’d ever known. Our screams are heard in the warehouse next door.”
I liked when Elliot was describing J.D. and Turk to the patient (“Is one an overconfident black doctor and the other a white guy who follows him around and looks at him like he loves him?” or something to that effect) and when the patient describes Elliot to J.D. and Turk (“Blond doctor who talks too fast and gets high pitched when she gets upset”).
I liked the “Deadwood” reference.
J.D. was making Keith go back and tell they guy he was “Dead, deadsie, deadwood, …” whatever, all the euphamisms for dead, and Turk asked, “Deadwood?” The J.D. said, “Did you know cowboys used to curse a lot?”
And Elliot describing J.D. and Turk over the phone was laugh-out-loud funny.
I just got the first and second seasons on DVD and am slowly making my way through them. I watched most of the first season Monday and Tuesday - damn, I’d forgotten how funny this show was right off the bat. No ‘finding its feet’ or anything. Just funny as hell.
My favorite was the Turk’s rendition of Safety Dance . That scene alone was funny. But when Carla told Elliot about it and Elliott said, “Didn’t you learn your lesson the time when you told him the Commisar was in town?” I was rolling on the floor.
YES! I almost forgot about that scene, thank you. As soon as Turk started with “He can dance” I knew where he was going, he didn’t even have to finish the first line.
I agree that this week was much better than last week, especially the second episode where Kelso has to make an executive decision which will cost a man his life but bring back the pre-natal care unit to Sacred Fart (man, that’s funny! )
Does anyone have the overnight ratings, cause I have the feeling that NBC is burning through these new episodes as fast as they can so that they can then pull the plug.
I seemed to have missed some episodes. Can you guys fill me in on stuff?
Carla is pregnant? If so, why is she so skinny looking?
The last show I saw had Elliot was very, very angry at JD (I would not have blamed her if she snuck up on him while he slept and stabbed him in the eye) and boyfriendless. Where’d this boyfriend come from? Is the janitor still a janitor or is he going to medical school? Also, Elliot is working at the free clinic because her Fellowship fell through, yes?
Did I miss all of these developments in one episode? Because I saw the last episode of last season-- I’m slightly confused.
I don’t think so. That line last night sounded like she WAS (when he said he was having a son), but I think he is just saying that they are GOING to have a son (he assumes it will be boy). He was even slipping her birth control a few episodes ago.
She eventually got over it as people do in sitcoms. I think she met this guy when he came into the hospital.
Still the janitor. And his sign changing last night cracked me up.
Yes.
Elliot’s boyfriend and her forgiveness of JD came last season. The Fellowship falling through happened in episode 2 this season.
Elliott lost the fellowship in last week’s show when her fellowship partner cured the disease they were studying.
Correct, but he is now moving in with Elliott, I guess.
In the first new show, they were talking about having a baby, but Turk was hiding her birth control pills in her food because he was scared of being a dad. I think now, he’s over his fear of having a baby and they’re actually trying.
Elliott was at the Free Clinic and hated it. She was told, “There’s a VD patient in Room One and he doesn’t want his wife to know about it.” She walked in and it was Kelso. The next scene showed her back at Sacred Fart. That jibes with the earlier scene where JD asked Kelso about his new earring and he made a remark about being hip, but it showed a flashback to him at home saying to his wife, “No, Enid, I’m not cheating on you. This earrig is mine.” And he crunched it through his own ear.
