Started out as fun it did. Annoying it became. Glad it’s over I am.
(Of course, I’m referring to the talking like Yoda part. The game itself I thoroughly enjoyed.)
Another reason besides lack of time that I probably won’t play there. I never shutup. (Although, unlike Idlemafia, Giraffe hasn’t been blocked at work yet. And neither has this place, oddly enough. I’m not sure how the proxy service–which was WebSense at one point, and may still be–determines which “game” sites to block.)
Ok, I’m back home after a lengthy travel day. I’ve caught up as much as possible, although I didn’t get to read every post in as much detail as I’d like.
Sorry I didn’t get a vote down last Summer. I’ll do better from here on out.
Once again, Summer came upon the Pond, and once again, one of the denizens did not survive the harsh Winter. As the denizens of the Pond gathered around the remains, they saw clearly that
Zeriel, a Plankton, is dead
And once again, the Scum have reproduced:
There is one Spawn in the Pond
Summer 3 has begun, and will end on Thursday at 1:00 MST. Strategy discussion may resume.
I am not sure what you guys want from me, or really what else I can say.
That being said, let me offer this, in the best way I know how.
I remain amazed and frustrated at how well this game is being played. I try for cases made on one reason or another, and they all fall flat.
Still other people find cases that question things that I never would begin to know to question.
I only have two votes, and I intend to keep one of them on Spawn at all times.
My votes are my votes, your votes are your votes. I do not see why there is so much agitation on what I want to do with my votes.
I believe when I answer posts in rapid succession, I lose my effectiveness.
Hopefully the past is behind us. Hopefully we can go forward with the new information gained from Today.
Sucks for Z. He seems to be one of the ones that understands me more than the field.
I’ll Vote Spawn as well and say that I really don’t know who else to choose.
Meeko isn’t coming across as scummy to me despite his tendency to post a lot. So far he’s posted a lot of thoughtful stuff that has been quite valuable, IMO.
You don’t think looking at votes to find scum is useful?
That said, I didn’t get my vote in on time Yesterday - I preferred letting Story get possibly killed by a real vigilante, but I didn’t think fluiddruid as scum either. So I went post at another game and found the Day over when I came back.
You would have to be more specific here. It seems like everyone is on me for switching votes, yet I have switched from Peeker and Fluid both, at different times.
Certainly it was better for me to switch off of them, than to keep on both of them, right?
If someone constantly votes for Town, that should be looked at. I don’t think I fit the mold there*. Of course, it is all hindsight at that point. I mean to suggest that votes offer meaningful information, once you understand what the information means.
I’m not getting anywhere with that, am I?
Let me try again. The INFORMATION that one player’s voting record offers is useful for finding scum.
I think I’m still DATA at this point.
It would be better to all involved if my votes were better. Yes.
[[*Then again, what Mafia mold does Meeko fit?]]
Avoid one mislynch wagon just to jump on the next one. :smack:
Vote Spawn
My gut is screaming at me to vote for Storyteller right now, but I also fear that we’re in a chain reaction of rolling from mislynch to mislynch because the scum are laying low and letting us pick each other off for things like personal grudges and their ripple effects (ironically, it was the personal aspect of fluid’s vote on peeker that stuck in my craw, leading to my hand in her mislynch) and differences in strategy.
Most of any case I could advance on Story at this point could be circumstantial shadow-boxing at best.
A) He’s advocated an unpopular position. A null tell on it’s own, but a scum doing so deliberately could potentially extend their lives at key moments by convincing enough people that enough of the heat they are receiving at any given time is just because they’ve advanced an unpopular position. Supporting evidence for this is that he’s basically refused to engage Alka further on the topic of double-lyse, which could be a convenient way of dodging questions.
B) Story seemed to get a bit frantic during the late-Summer tie between he and fluid, at a purely metagame level I seem to recall Story having more composure when he is a Townie getting heat, calmly presenting the reasons why the case against him should be re-examined. I’m having a hard time not seeing his play as that of a desperate scum or pfk trying to stay alive.
C) The odds… Peeker, Ed, and Fluid were all Pondies and their posts have had a lot of influence as to how the final voting decisions have gone down so far, imho. Sachertorte and Storyteller as well. I’d include myself as well but I don’t know that I’m really influencing anybody. What are the chances that all of those players are all just stubborn Pondies?
D) Story still has not addressed what I consider to be the biggest downside to double-lysing and that is potentially splitting the townie vote and giving the scum votes more leverage.
E) He spun a pretty slick circumstantial case against fluid, and I readily admit that it underscored a good bit of the shadow-boxing I was doing with her.
I agree with Cometothedakrside about the current state of things. I think the scum are playing wisely and laying low, hoping to have the rest of us pick off townie after townie all along.
However, I have no memory of storyteller playing all that differently between scum and townie. Then again, I can’t really remember what games he was in and what he was in those games.
However, Meeko is starting toDay with an odd comment, which I see Natlaw also noticed right away. I don’t get what he was talking about with vote re-examination and his votes being his and his alone. I also don’t get what he is talking about in his response to Natlaw calling him out for it. And why would Natlaw have to be more specific about his comment?
Meeko has been more clear lately and it almost is feeling like he is being intentionally vague and hard to understand. Very weird…hmmmm.
