Whee! I got two postcards today! One all antiquey, from labtrash in the Carolinas, and one from Cunctator in Australia!
The Australian one was made to look like Australian money, and my friend had placed it in my room, and as I entered in the dimness, I saw what looked like a pile of money on top of my other mail.
“Wait a minute, that’s Australian money.”
:: goes to pick it up ::
“That’s a postcard!!!”
I’m pleased that you like the postcard Sunspace. It struck me as rather quirky and amusing. Once I’d found it, I sent it out in triplicate.
So all three of the cards that I sent have now been received. But nothing’s arrived yet…perhaps I’ll find something this evening when I get home from work.
And I even feel as though I can legitimately be part of the summer postcard exchange. The temperature here has skyrocketed to 29C today (84F). I had to change back into summer pyjamas last night. It’s always weird at this time of year on the cusp of spring. Only a few days ago the ski-fields were getting heavy snowfalls.

I am very impressed by the Australian post office. Cunctator on the other side of the world from us is the first to have all three of his post cards delivered.
I assume that Australia Post is responsible only for getting them onto the plane and to the point of entry in the overseas country - which I imagine would mean Vancouver for Canada and Los Angeles for the USA. After that it’s up to the Canadian and American post offices. All three postal systems seems to have done a very good job this time round.

I got my second card, from minionkat! Though Canadian, she sent a card from the Pike’s Peak Cog Railway. And another Aloha stamp! I guess they are the hot thing at the post office right now.
Strangely though one of my cards was the first to arrive, no one seems to have gotten my others yet.
