I get the feeling you’ve never once been happy with a team you drafted. That’s the opposite of me; I always aim to draft a team I’ll be happy keeping intact the entire season.
I may not get the maximum BPA value, but there’s something to be said about the peace of mind of not needing to drum up trades, or the headache of having trades vetoed.
I like the process of trying to maximize my team. Throwing offers out there, scouring the waiver wires. I’m pretty happy with the teams I’ve got in everything but the dynasty league, but I like trying to make them better.
Interesting week #1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3. Decent chance for the rankings to change a bit (or solidify) up at the top.

I’ve decided to pretend that Hines Ward is donating his extra points to the underachieving Drew Brees today. Not quite sure how this matchup is going to play out but I’m not looking so hot right and Beef has some dangerous weapons left. This is going to be close.
You were saved by all the damn garbage time passes against soft zones Brees got. He was at like 5 fantasy points going into the 4th quarter.
The end of that game gave me a fair shot at least. I shouldnt have punked out on Gates at the last minute though. Stupid last minute injury decisions. At least Sproles came through with some serious return and receiving yardage.
I almost did the same thing as you in the auction league- picked up Carlson as game time insurance. Ended up sticking with Gates. Got worried when he didn’t catch a pass until the third quarter, but it was a TD so it all worked out.
Looking good for me unless Harvin goes nuts.
Gridbirds needs 35 points out of Rodgers/Roy Williams/Witten to beat Kelly’s Heros.
Chitwood needs 28 + whatever the Vikings score out of Romo and Felix Jones.
Taz and Court Jesters are almost tied, with Taz having Moss and Steve Smith vs Jester’s Favre.
Peterson getting that TD instead of Harvin is huge.
This is turning out a lot closer than I had anticipated earlier. Ugh, I keep looking at my defense and shaking my head. Rough week.

#1 plays #3 this week, and #2 plays #4. Lots of potential for shifting around at the top.
I was just looking at that. I like that there are a lot of rank shifting matchups lately. After last weeks beatdown, I’m out for some revenge.
On a side note, the QB situation is kind of crazy this year. Everyone is going down and getting knocked out and others are just underperforming. After the past few seasons it’s kind of nice to see QBs with more normalized numbers I guess.
The KC run offense has the most cupcakey schedule ever.
The next games: Buffalo, @OAK, @DEN, ARI, SEA, DEN. KC can put up 200+ yards on all of them pretty easily.
Still, I’m not sure if I can start him over the rock solid Hillis, what with my homer favoritism. So I’m willing to move him in a package to upgrade my QB.
I’d also consider trading Hillis too I guess.
Or any of my WRs - I have lots of good ones. Lloyd, Calvin Johnson, Bowe, Knox.

Seems like a decent trade - he gets two upgrades. Thomas Jones and his cupcake schedule becomes a rock solid RB starter and the Pittsburgh D is the #3 fantasy defense. He downgrades to an inconsistent but high-upside Matt Schaub.
But since it’s a trade I’m involved in, I’m already battening down the hatches and preparing for end of the world hysteria.
In any case, I’ve now got Aaron Rodgers in 3 leagues, so he’s going to be decapitated on the first play of his next game.

Everyone likes playing head to head because it’s more interesting from week to week, but it’s obviously not as fair as just a straight points competition. But it’s easy to see how the league would shake out if we were indeed playing a straight points league, so every once in a while I like to sort the rankings by score to see how we’d turn out in that case. Ellis Dee put that function into his program so I don’t have to do it manually, thanks.
