SDMB All-Pro Fantasy Football League

The difference between the quarterback and two receivers I should have started this week and the quarterback and two receivers I did start this week was 56.55 points.

True, but Kevin Curtis wasn’t a serious starting consideration for you, was he? Whereas Brown had been my default starter up until now.

True, though, you technically have the most points lost on the bench… unless Vince Young completely implodes tonight.

Speaking of which, a huge game from him is the only thing that can save me this week - but an even bigger game would cause my opponent in another league to win. So I need him to have a great game, but not the greatest game ever :stuck_out_tongue:

Childsplay. In the other league I left 70 points on my beanch by sitting Boldin and Curtis for a cold 70.2 points. In my money league I benched Boldin and Ronnie Brown for a solid 71.2 points. In the Auction League I left a whopping 84.6 points on the bench by sitting Barber III, Westbrook and LaMont Jordan. (Though in fairness I started Ronnie Brown in that one so that one isn’t exactly incremental.) All in all, an awesome week for my benches!

Well played, Omni.

That reminds me - I was recommending that other people start Boldin and not to be scared about the Baltimore defense because Rolle sucked and they’ll be giving up good days to #2 WRs who have a strong #1 taking the attention, but then I sat him. I started Braylon Edwards over him who had a decent day, and I’m going to win in that league anyway so it didn’t bother me as much.

The Ronnie Brown thing here is the difference between winning and losing.

It’s amazing how I can have a QB left to play and my opponent has no one, and I’m leading going into Monday night, and I still almost lose. Ridiculous. This team drives me nuts.

According to the play-by-play, Bush didn’t fumble. His listed stats on NFL.com:

Yards: 35 * .1 = 3.5
TDs: 2 * 6 = 12
Rec: 6 * .35 = 2.1

That totals 17.6, bringing me to 94.37 for the week. If these numbers hold up, I will have eeked out my first win by a margin of 0.46 points. If, OTOH, I miscalculated or yahoo downgrades some of his stats, then I will be 0-3 despite having more total points than the 3-0 JAMmers.

I await the official scores tomorrow morning with bated breath.

I have the worst 3-0 team in the history of fantasy sports. But don’t worry, I’m going to get trashed this coming week. Is there another team with a harder schedule than me coming up? Of the 6 games with byes involved, the COMBINED starters on byes for my opponenets is seven. SEVEN PLAYERS IN SIX WEEKS. That’s insane! I’m screwed. :frowning:

Congratulations go out to the Fanboys for squeaking out a less than 1 point victory. It was well earned. When I had heard that Bush had run for two touchdowns, I had an awful feeling that I was doomed, so my screw up of not starting Favre DID cost me the game. Lesson learned. Again, good job this week Fanboys.

Blah. Given how badly McAlister was doing, and how badly Vince Young was ripping up the Saints through the air, I thought I might win.

The Saints were selling out against the run and doing an okay job of it, but Young was passing at will. So what did the Titans do in the second half? Run 80% of the time. Blah.

I was so sure that I was going to blow my huge lead after watching the first half. I had this sinking feeling after Deuce got hurt and Young got the two early touchdowns. Luckily, they forgot about the passing game in the second half.

And ESPN is reporting that Deuce blew out his ACL last night. Just super…when do those waiver requests have to be in? By midnight tonight?

11pm tonight, free agency opens at midnight (if I am able to post the waiver wins, which I should be).

Chitwood - you jumped the gun on waivers. As the commissioner’s note says, I’ll treat that like a waiver claim unless you tell me not to. If someone with a higher waiver priority claims him, he’ll go to them.

Top scores this week:

The Gridbirds 130.34
The Opposites 109.57
Exploding Pancakes 99.15
New York Fanboys 94.77

Top overall scores:
394.96 The Gridbirds
373.90 Tazmanian Devils
365.86 The Opposites
305.06 Exploding Pancakes
Poor Jesters - Court Jesters 258 points and 0-3, Quentin’s JAMmers 244 points and 3-0.

Ah, shit. Sorry. Not a waiver claim.

Sorry about being late on waivers. I even reminded myself a few hours ago, but it slipped my mind.

The opposites win A Stecker (NO) and Court Jesters win Derrick Anderson.

Thanks. I’ll pick him up later today. See ya, Leinart.

There’s a trade up: Jammers trades Travis Henry and Lee Evans for Jesters’ Marvin Harrison and Larry Johnson.

I’m a little leery of this trade from a competitive balance viewpoint - in my view it strongly favors 3-0 guy at the expensive of an 0-3 guy. I guess a lot of it depends on how much you think Johnson and Evans will bounce back. I guess Jesters feels like Evans’ current lack of production is temporary and Johnson’s isn’t.

Henry has also been more productive than I expect him to be the rest of the season, most likely due to injury.

I don’t think there was any collusion here, though - just a difference of opinion between my view and Jesters’. But this could turn Jammer’s already strong team into a powerhouse.

Edit: Not that I’m voting against it, just giving my opinion/concern.

Actually, I’m looking for good RB options. I don’t think KC is good enough for Johnson to shine. Harrison will have a big game or three, but I can’t rely on him consistently for points. I need to get more points at RB, and I think I can do so with Henry.

If Evans starts to bounce back, it’s a bonus. Until then, he’s likely someone to swap out when my kicker or DEF have a bye-week. Right now, he’s below Toomer on my depth chart, but I’m willing to wait him out a week or three to see if that changes.

So your trade is essentially Johnson and Harrison for Henry.

I think Johnson will bounce back some, he had a bad team around him last year too. I wouldn’t shrug off Harrison as inconsistent - all WRs tend to be inconsistent. He was overall the best fantasy receiver last year.

I’d like to keep Harrison, but right now my team relies on breakout games to get points. I don’t have consistency. If LJ or Harrison were averaging higher thus far, I wouldn’t have gone for it. However, LJ was benched this week, and it turned out it was the right decision from a RB perspective. Didn’t help that I still ended up with only 76 points.
