There’s another week after this, btw.
Oh, crap. Haha. I forgot, since some of my other leagues are in the last week of the regular season.
So that just puts me in the driver’s seat.
So if I win today, and next week, I’m in. If you, Omni and I lose, I’m in. If Omni and I lose, and you win, you’re in. If we lose, and Omni wins, he’s in.
I think I have a good shot (according to Yahoo, both you and Omni are projected to lose next week). You mentioned how it’s amazing your team is where it is when you drafted Johnson. I’m in a similarly remarkable position. I’ve gotten a total of 9 games out of my top two receivers (Andre Johnson, hurt again, and Miles Austin) and several half games. Peyton Hillis was my starting RB out of the draft. I’ve missed several games from Vick and part of at least one. This team has been decimated by injuries. Stupid team.
Fuck me, I finally benched Greg Olson’s useless ass (2 points per week for the last month) when Keller, who was a more productive player with a better matchup, became available… and finally Olsen makes himself useful.
I’m kicking ass and taking names today. It’s been a disappointing year for me in the league I want to win most of all out of all the football leagues I play in.
Not looking great for me in the auction league, but it’s looking even worse for my competitors for the last playoff spot.
I don’t know, I think I’m doing OK towards that last playoff spot.
Winning got me the 4th playoff spot. The other two competitor’s ended up losing anyway, though, so it was unnecesary.
- Crowley’s Bentley (Hamlet)
- Overly Sentimental (Chuck)
- Duke’s Devils (MTRG)
- Exploding Pancakes (SenorBeef)
I couldn’t make up the difference for all the injuries I suffered all season. Frankly, I’m lucky just to have been in position to possibly have a chance at a playoff spot.
So I managed to come in last place. Ugh. Although in my defence, I lost Jamaal Charles early on, Vick didn’t even come close to matching last year’s numbers, no Manning meant lost years for Collie and Clark (who was also hurt), and Flacco regressed badly. Gore and Jordy Nelson were my only solid players. Oh well - I’ll be back next year, ready to kick ass and take names!
I think Overly Sentimental is the favorite to win the league, assuming Rodgers, Cruz, and Graham have typical weeks.
Duke’s Devils making the playoffs with Mike Williams, Desean Jackson and Rivers is a miracle…and its name is Gostkowski.
Standings at the end of the regular season:
- Crowley’s Bentley (Hamlet) 12-2 1540.94
- Overly Sentimental (Chuck) 11-3 1598.50
- Duke’s Devils (MTRG) 11-3 1414.08
- Exploding Pancakes (SenorBeef) 8-6 1287.20
- HungryHungryHaruspex (JulesAndre) 7-7 1180.66
- Chicago Cutlery (Omniscient) 6-8 1310.16
- Court Jesters (d_odds) 6-8 1259.00
- New New York Benders (It’s Not Rocket Surgery!) 5-9 1301.69
- Phoenix Redbirds (dale42j) 5-9 1184.90
- New York Fanboys (Ellis Dee) 5-9 1148.52
- Varlos’ Zzzzzzz (VarlosZ) 5-9 1111.72
- Team Dragon Ash (DragonAsh) 3-10 1122.70
I thought my playoff run was going to need Chris Johnson’s resurgence, and what better place than Indianapolis? Yet he’s useless today and I’m still doing pretty well, mostly due to Lance Moore and the Seahawks D (who have been great for me the last few weeks).
I kept going back and forth with my WRs too… good thing I kept Moore in.
I couldn’t have started Darren Sproles over Chris Johnson, right?
Ugh.
30 points from the Seahawks defense, heros of the day. 85 points with Brady/Greene/Keller/Akers still to play, I like my chances.
As of right now, I lead by 75 points with Brady, Greene, Keller, Akers still to play.
Hamlet has most of his whole team - Stafford, Vincent Jackson, Welker, Calvin Johnson, Bush, McGahee, Jets D.
Overly Sentimental has a 50 point lead with only Rice still to play. MTRG has Rivers, D Jackson, McCoy, Gronk, Gostkowski, and 49ers D.
30 points from Seattle defense as your high scorer and an injury to McGahee limiting him to 7 carries.
Ah, Fantasy Football. You evil bitch goddess.
Just to drive myself crazy, I checked out our schedule, and this season, if we went head to head every week, I would have been 12-2 against Beef.
Evil.
Bitch.
Goddess.
Well you know, I got out there and coached them up and made them give 100% and they just took it 1 play at a time and also I think Jesus might’ve been on our side. As we know, dominating overall performance all year is by far trumped by one random matchup at the end.
You’ve still got a chance. Vincent Jackson might be due for one of his 35 point games.
SenorBeef has a 23 point lead and David Akers against Hamlet’s Vincent Jackson.
Overly Sentimental has an 8 point lead and Ray Rice against Duke Devil’s Rivers.
Nothing illegitimate or flukey about a big game from a D/ST or it being the top scorer btw.
