Indeed. I’m actually having a pretty good week (bearing in mind that I’m 3-8 because half my starting lineup went on IR) and yet he’s almost exactly doubled me up.

Need 9.06 points between stat corrections and a kicker who’s done better than 9 points only three times this year. So that’s always fun.

I have a good chance to win tonight, which should pretty much secure me for the playoffs.

Oh wait, now my QB and TE are on IR and my starting RB is out for at least 3 weeks.

Got a win this week against Garcon, although I got lucky again as he could have beaten me quite comfortably had he fielded a slightly different roster. I won by about 6, but with an optimum lineup he could have added over 30 points to his score. I’m now guaranteed a playoff spot, although I’m not especially confident of my chances once they start.

The W/L and +/- ratios show the importance of matchups in this league. It’s possible to score a lot of points and still lose quite a few games if you have some particularly bad weeks, and it’s possible to score fewer points and win a lot of games, as long and you’re consistent and/or get good matchups.

As Mundi Madness shows, it’s also possible to be 8-4 while having a negative points differential, while the guy one game behind you has the second-best points differential in the league.

I’m projected to score 145 points and have an 84% chance to win before the games start. That has to be some kind of record.

So with one game to go, Yahoo only has the top 3 teams as locked for the playoffs, but I don’t see how myself and Mundi don’t also get in. We play each other so one of us will fall to 8-5. But No Use For A Name and Dented Pixels also play each other, meaning of the 4 7-5 teams, only 3 of them get to 8-5. So at best, we’ll have the three top teams, 9-4 team, and then the 4 8-5 teams (myself or Mundi). Meanwhile Garcon’s Cedilla has a shot to get in still, but will need either John’s Dandy or RshawnHochuli to lost and out score them.

If you can make any sense of it, please feel free to share. I get that I have some inconsistent players, but having them all line up with down weeks and then up weeks was weird.

I think it’s interesting that 7 of the bottom 8 teams have had more than 1300 points scored against them, and none of the top 10 have.

That is quite a substantial lead I have for total points. Feels like this is my year, but in a 3 stage playoffs even if I’m a 2-1 favorite every game (unlikely) that’s still only a 30% chance overall of winning it.

Interesting stat from my game against Wilson (Fourth and Nineteen) in the last round: both of us had a running back throw for a touchdown. Not only that, but those two RBs were playing on opposing teams in the NFL.

Odell Beckham, Jr., threw for a TD against against the Bears on Sunday, and Tarik Cohen returned the favor in the last minute to send the game to OT.

Welp. With a 63 point game to end the season, my team misses the playoffs. If they won they were in. Hell, if they lost and scored 90, they were in.

Wow.

Our 12-1 regular-season leader is in some possible trouble in the first round of the playoffs against the 8th place 7-6 team, thanks to a 238-yard, 4-touchdown performance by Derrick Henry. And all of that on 17 rushing attempts. Holy moly!

That brought back memories of Jerome Harrison the first year I played FF, 2009. We played week 17 so our first round was week 15 when he went off for a points total comparable to Henry’s. The team I was facing had Harrison on the bench and I won. I had picked up and dropped Harrison earlier that season, so him in their lineup would have ensured a painful defeat.

There’s still quite a ways to go, but whatever else happens this weekend, it looks like the weekend’s second-highest scoring team is going to be eliminated. Garcon’s Cedilla and TheStr8Dope My Foot are both currently projected to score over 140, and they’re playing each other. Meanwhile, every other team is currently looking to underscore its projection, sometimes by a significant margin.

Trivia question about the fickle nature of fantasy football: which team that lead the league in points by a good margin is going to get hosed by one bad game that happened to occur at the start of the playoffs by having by far the worst scoring week of the year?

Same thing happened to me two years ago. Led the league in points scored, then got a 59-point score in the first round of the playoffs and it was all over. It was my lowest tally of the season by over 30 points.

With just the Monday night game left to go, it looks like the top 4 seeds (including me) are ALL going to lose their match-ups. I’m not completely out of it; if Adam Thielen has a huge night, I could pull out a narrow victory. I wouldn’t put money on it, though.

It is absolutely disgusting that a team will win in the playoffs because they were forced to start a guy who has been horrible all year, but pulled a magical studly game out of his ass. Brutal.

Guarantee I score more than all the remaining playoff teams for the next two weeks just to rub salt in the wounds. What a crazy week.

Week 14 is the worst week to have an off week, too. If you have a bad week in week 16, hey, you got 2nd place. Or week 15, third or fourth. But a bad week in 14 means the highest you can place is 5th.
