SDMB Big League FF 2010

CMFD

  1. Miles Austin - $39
  2. Joe Flacco - $23
  3. Davone Bess - $11
  4. Tim Hightower - $36
  5. Tashard Choice - $11
  6. Daniel Thomas - $11
  7. Colt McCoy - $10
  8. Joshua Cribbs - $6
  9. Roy Helu - $9
  10. Jabar Gaffney - $3
  11. Antonio Brown - $8
  12. Benjamin Watson - $5
  13. Dallas - $3
  14. Evan Moore - $3
  15. Adam Vinatieri - $2

Unused $20

Best Value - Daniel Thomas at $11 is a good value. I don’t like him as a runner and I don’t think he’ll succeed in the NFL (he’s too weak and not fast enough, not a good combination), but he’s in a great position of sharing carries with Reggie Bush. Worth $11 easy.

Worst Value - Tim Hightower for $36. Hightower went from a great sleeper to overrated in just a couple weeks. $36 is insane for a guy without 1000 yard season and who doesn’t hold onto the football. Great job getting Helu, but still a waste of money.

Overall - This team just doesn’t scare me at all. I’m not a Flacco guy, I don’t see any real studs (Austin maybe, if I squint, but too many other options in that offense), and I do see way to many Browns and Redskins. There’s some upside, but getting both Browns’ TE’s? Ugh. This draft has middle of the pack written all over it.

Frosted_Lightning

  1. Wes Welker - $29
  2. Tony Romo - $34
  3. BenJarvus Green-Ellis - $28
  4. Kenny Britt - $26
  5. Ahmad Bradshaw - $38
  6. Owen Daniels - $13
  7. A.J. Green - $11
  8. Danny Woodhead - $8
  9. New York - $2
  10. Dexter McCluster - $6
  11. Alex Henery - $1
  12. Robbie Gould - $1
  13. Shane Vereen - $1
  14. Brian Robiskie - $1
  15. John Beck - $1

Best Value - I like Bradshaw for $38 and Daniels for $13 (if he’s healthy). Good, potentially great players for OK value. That’s exactly how I want to draft.

Worst Value - BenJarvus Green Ellis for $28. In a twenty team league with this many starting spots, I think it is a waste to grab 3 RB’s on the same team. And to spend serious starter money on one of them, when you yourself aren’t convinced he’s the guy, is a mistake. And worst of all, it’s the Patriots RB’s, who you never know who will succeed. Each week, you’ll be costing yourself a starting spot.

Overall: 2 kickers? Really? This is, to me, a high to middle of the pack team. I think Welker is fine in a .5 ppr league, and Britt supposedly has upside (I hate him though), and you could do worse than Bradshaw and NE RB flavor as starting RB’s. Individually, these guys don’t excite me, but put together as a team in a 20 team league, and it should win more than it loses. Because of the choking of roster spots with NE RB’s and an extra kicker, waiver wire work will really matter to this team.

Evil Monkey

  1. Peyton Manning - $26
  2. Rashard Mendenhall - $52
  3. Santonio Holmes - $34
  4. Mark Sanchez - $9
  5. Michael Crabtree - $11
  6. Mike Tolbert - $24
  7. Lance Moore - $9
  8. Malcom Floyd - $15
  9. Jared Cook - $7
  10. Dustin Keller - $5
  11. Brent Celek - $2
  12. Bernard Berrian - $2
  13. Mohamed Massaquoi - $1
  14. Oakland - $1
  15. Josh Brown - $2

Best Value - Peyton Manning at $26 (with the caveat that we don’t know about his neck). There is certainly a risk involved, but getting an elite QB at half price was well worth it. I wish I had taken the chance, but he was nominated so early I didn’t know the market would be so high for QB’s. Well done. If he’s healthy.

Worst Value - Mark Sanchez at $9. I hate him as a fantasy QB, and $9 is $8 too much. Spending some of that money you saved getting an elite QB on a better backup would have been prudent. And three tight ends? You have more TE’s than RB’s. That’s … not good.

Overall - I’m not a fan of the NYJ passing game, so relying on Sanchez and Holmes to be starters starting the year isn’t for me. Or for anyone really. I think Mendenhall was good value and Tolbert was a bit too much, but they are a solid RB crew (although you might want to grab another RB, because only having 2 is not such a good thing). Everything else, though, I’m not sold on.

Hey There Fancypants

  1. Vincent Jackson - $40
  2. Ray Rice - $65
  3. Calvin Johnson - $53
  4. Jason Witten - $21
  5. Carnell Williams - $2
  6. Johnny Knox - $10
  7. Luke McCown - $1
  8. Jason Hill - $1
  9. Darrius Heyward-Bey - $1
  10. Matt Prater - $1
  11. Tim Tebow - $1
  12. Christian Ponder - $1
  13. Vince Young - $1
  14. Michael Jenkins - $1
  15. Cleveland - $1

Best Value - Vincent Jackson for $40. He’s got a good chance to be a top 6 or 7 WR and, as we learned later, $40 is a good price.

Worst Value - Ray Rice for $65 and Calvin Johnson for $53. Both studs, both overpaid waaaaay to much and crippled the rest of your team. I’m not a fan of locking onto one guy and doing whatever it takes to get him.

Outlook: Can 4 guys carry a team with 10 starters? I think history has shown that odds aren’t good. You’re starting QB is Luke McCown. YOU’RE STARTING QB IS LUKE MCCOWN! You have only two RB’s on your team and one of them is an old, slow, backup. There is no depth to speak of and the cheap guys are rookie QB’s with little upside this year. This draft was horrible.

Varlos’ Zzzzzzz

  1. Jamaal Charles - $60
  2. Hakeem Nicks - $41
  3. Ben Roethlisberger - $26
  4. Devin Hester - $13
  5. Robert Meachem - $8
  6. Chris Cooley - $7
  7. Kendall Hunter - $8
  8. Jason Snelling - $5
  9. Jason Campbell - $3
  10. New England - $3
  11. Montario Hardesty - $2
  12. Neil Rackers - $2
  13. Donald Driver - $4
  14. Emmanuel Sanders - $5
  15. Stevan Ridley - $1

Best Value - If I got a list of consensus “sleeper” players, it would look a lot like the scrubs on this team. Hardesty, Hunter, Sanders, Ridley, Meachum, and Snelling all have upside if the guys ahead of them get hurt. The best value, though, is Donald Driver for $2. He just may have one more year in the tank. And fuck you for bidding up Kendall Hunter.

Worst Value - Jamaal Charles for $60. We must differ on the drafting thing, because I don’t think any player is worth that much, and getting him has made you rely on specific guys getting hurt to give you another starter opposite. I’d rather get two thirty dollar guys and fill my starting roster. And Hester at $13, with the new kickoff rule and his inability to become a solid WR, was a waste.

Outlook: I despise him, but I think Roethlisberger could have a very good year, and he was good value. Nicks I think will drop off a bit, but not bad value. The issue is depth, which there is none here. As I said before, I don’t think 3 guys can win it all. If they all stay healthy, you’ll have a shot week to week though.

Return of Ryan Leaf

  1. Tom Brady - $43
  2. Peyton Hillis - $42
  3. Roddy White - $47
  4. David Akers - $3
  5. Denarius Moore - $5
  6. Plaxico Burress - $8
  7. Marcedes Lewis - $9
  8. Randy Moss - $2
  9. Thomas Jones - $7
  10. Jacoby Jones - $5
  11. Eddie Royal - $8
  12. Jerome Harrison - $7
  13. San Diego - $3
  14. Kevin Boss - $1
  15. Tennessee - $1

Best Value: Some nice bargain hunting. Thomas Jones for $7, Jacoby for $5, Harrison for $7, Boss for $1, Moore for $5 are all reasonable prices for guys who you can start week to week.

Worst Value: Hillis scares me, both as a fantasy prospect and as a human being I don’t want to meet in a dark alley, so I’m not sure $42 will pay off. I think Plaxico and Moss were wastes of money and Marcedes Lewis was overpriced too.

Outlook: I like the way this team was built, but there are some holes. He has three studs in Brady, White, and (to a much lesser extent) Hillis, but he also has some depth to give him flexibility on starters. If he connects on those deeper guys, and Hillis stays healthy, this team could go places. You need another RB though.

Curry Porkrinds

  1. Matt Ryan - $37
  2. Chad Ochocinco - $25
  3. Jimmy Graham - $12
  4. Fred Jackson - $20
  5. Danny Amendola - $21
  6. Mike Williams - $8
  7. Jay Cutler - $15
  8. Pierre Thomas - $10
  9. Philadelphia - $5
  10. Ryan Fitzpatrick - $9
  11. Ryan Torain - $5
    12.Rob Gronkowski - $7
  12. Leon Washington - $5
  13. Matt Bryant - $3
  14. Harry Douglas - $1

Best Value: Waaaaayyyy to much. Jackson, Cutler, Thomas, Fitzpatrick, Torain, Washington, and Douglas were are very good to great value. Helluva nice job.

Worst Value: I like Amendola, he’ll get some catches, but he’s not really special. I don’t think Matt Ryan is worth that much either.

Outlook: I really like this draft, but it lacks some star power. Ryan, Ochocinco, and Jackson are all fine starters, but they won’t win a week for you like some. In retrospect, that leftover $17 could have been used to upgrade a skill position a bit. Still, the depth is astoundingly good, there are some potential surprises (I like Douglas, Washington could take the @2 RB role, Torain has potential if healthy), wonderful value and some trade bait with those QB’s, so you’ll be in it every week. I think, however, you’re one stud player away from greatness.

Exploding Pancakes

  1. Darren McFadden - $44
  2. Shonn Greene - $38
  3. Dwayne Bowe - $35
  4. Jeremy Maclin - $29
  5. Marques Colston - $25
  6. Kerry Collins - $2
  7. Earl Bennett - $5
  8. Ben Tate - $4
  9. Kyle Orton - $9
  10. Alex Smith - $3
  11. Jerome Simpson - $2
  12. Anthony Fasano - $1
  13. Mark Clayton - $1
  14. Arizona - $1
  15. Phil Dawson - $1

Best Value: Best? Best? I guess Clayton, Simpson, Orton, and Tate were worth what was paid for them. McFadden, Greene, Bowe, Maclin, and Colston were all within normal parameters. No outstanding value that I see, but McFadden, if you were sold on him, was pretty good.

Worst Value: Worst? Worst? None of them were huge reaches at all. They’re just guys I don’t like enough to pay it. McFadden misses games every year (although 13 last year wasn’t bad at all), Greene is overrated and can’t beat out an over the hill LT and the JETS keep drafting RB’s, Bowe’s going to lose catches and TD’s, Maclin could be ill all year, and Colston is on the Saints who spread it around. But the price for each is fine.

Outlook: I know he really likes his team, and I have no problem with how her did his draft. I just don’t like the guys he got. The weakness at QB is an issue, but, by and large, if you like his players you should like his draft. He has some nice low price fliers also. I just don’t like his team. He’s in a good position to make a run though.

No Use For A Name II

  1. Mike Wallace - $38
  2. Brandon Marshall - $30
  3. Steven Jackson - $50
  4. Matthew Stafford - $27
  5. Knowshon Moreno - $28
  6. Lance Kendricks - $9
  7. Brandon Pettigrew - $8
  8. Ronnie Brown - $3
  9. Andy Dalton - $1
  10. Houston - $1
  11. Early Doucet - $1
  12. Jordan Shipley - $1
  13. Leonard Hankerson - $1
  14. Jason Hanson - $1
  15. Dan Carpenter - $1

Best Value - $30 for Marshall was fine, if Henne can get him the ball. I like $17 total for two TE’s who both have very nice upside. And the $1 specials are all great upside/low cost.

Worst Value: I think this team overspent a bit on Jackson, Stafford, and Moreno. The problem is I like Jackson, Stafford, and Moreno to do very well this year. You do not need two kickers, though, and you’re running a risk with only 3 RB’s.

Outlook: This team, I like a lot. Although I think he overpaid a bit, I do like the players he got. Part of my concern on the overpaying is that risk drops my valuation, so if you aren’t as bothered as I am by risk, these are good prices. Stafford’s pre-season was great, but I want real games before committing that much to him and he’s behind a … dodgy offensive line. Jackson has a lot of miles, Marshall has a lot of issues, Moreno has a lot of upside, but hasn’t shown it. But if this team can avoid injuries, it could be a powerhouse. Watch out.

Phoenix Redbirds

  1. Larry Fitzgerald - $49
  2. Julio Jones - $25
  3. Mario Manningham - $36
  4. Sam Bradford - $23
  5. DeAngelo Williams - $33
  6. Todd Heap - $6
  7. C.J. Spiller - $13
  8. Chester Taylor - $3
  9. Chad Henne - $5
  10. Nick Folk - $1
  11. Toby Gerhart - $1
  12. St. Louis - $2
  13. Louis Murphy - $1
  14. LaRod Stephens-Howling - $1
  15. David Buehler - $1

Best Value: DeAngelo Williams for $33 was good value, not great, but good. Spiller has enough upside to justify $13 easily.

Worst Value: I’m not feeling the Julio Jones love. It’s rare rookie WR’s succeed in the NFL, even less so one without much training. I think $25 was too much for him. Bradford, for all his upside and my love for him, was a bit overpriced also.

Outlook: Another team I like a lot, but I’m concerned about the emphasis on the passing game. Spiller shouldn’t be a #2, and Taylor is just awful and LaRod is a help on special teams but doesn’t see much other than that (at least until Beanie gets hurt). If DeAngelo returns to form, it won’t matter that much, but that puts a lot of pressure on Williams and Bradford to make this thing work. All in all I’m a fan of this draft, but it’s no sure thing. Should compete every week with a good shot, if healthy, to make the playoffs.

Garcon’s Cedilla

  1. Andre Johnson - $50
  2. LeGarrette Blount - $40
  3. Kevin Kolb - $19
  4. Anquan Boldin - $26
  5. Kellen Winslow - $12
  6. Nate Burleson - $8
  7. James Starks - $15
  8. Delone Carter - $8
  9. Detroit - $3
  10. Alex Green - $3
  11. DeMarco Murray - $5
  12. Andre Roberts - $6
  13. Deji Karim - $3
  14. Billy Cundiff - $1
  15. Dezmon Briscoe - $1

Best Value: Kolb as a starting QB at $19 is pretty good value. And Winslow, if healthy and motivated, will be excellent value at $12. I also like Burleson as a fill in guy.

Worst Value: Andre Johnson was overpriced, but it didn’t cost you that much. I think Anquan Boldin is on the downhill slide, and James Starks is a nice pickup, but I’m thinking the Grant hate may have gone too far.

Outlook: No backup QB, no true #2 RB, and a leading RB who concerns me make it hard for me to love this team, but I also really like what he did with his money. Murray, Roberts, Karim, Carter, and maybe Starks could all develop into #1 RB’s if the breaks fall their way, which would make this team a powerhouse. A lot is riding on Kolb, though. It’s definitely a mixed bag, but I kinda like it too.

Not Sure

  1. Aaron Rodgers - $48
  2. Beanie Wells - $32
  3. Steve Smith - $6
  4. Antonio Gates - $26
  5. Pittsburgh - $7
  6. Jahvid Best - $23
  7. Lee Evans - $19
  8. Jacoby Ford - $11
  9. Sebastian Janikowski - $3
  10. LaDainian Tomlinson - $9
  11. Marion Barber - $5
  12. Visanthe Shiancoe - $5
  13. Ricky Williams - $3
  14. Anthony Armstrong - $2
  15. Tarvaris Jackson - $1

Best Value: Jahvid Best’s $23 surprised me, I thought more guys would be in love with him. He’s got upside, and I’m not sold on him, but for $23 he’s a fine #2 RB.

Worst Value” Steve Smith for $6 is a waste, Jacoby Ford was too much, Lee Evans is a one trick, non-consistent pony, Beanie was overpriced considering his risk, and you paid $8 for a kicker and defense. The big question is whether or not Aaron Rodgers, who I absolutely love, was worth 25%. I don’t think he was.

Outlook: Outside of Rodgers and Gates, I only see a bunch of #2 guys. Evans, Best, Wells, Ford, LT, Shiancoe, all of them are not made for carrying a fantasy football team. If one guy can win it all for you (Rodgers could be that good), you’re in good shape. But I don’t see anything to get me excited outside of those two.

Damn! Twenty is a lot of damn teams to review.

The Brute Squad

  1. Philip Rivers - $43
  2. Reggie Wayne - $35
  3. Santana Moss - $21
  4. Brandon Lloyd - $28
  5. Brandon Jacobs - $23
  6. Dallas Clark - $21
  7. Willis McGahee - $9
  8. Cam Newton - $6
  9. Minnesota - $1
  10. Josh Morgan - $1
  11. Ed Dickson - $1
  12. Arrelious Benn - $2
  13. Mike Goodson - $1
  14. Connor Barth - $1
  15. Miami - $2

Best Value: I like Willis McGahee in a run first John Fox offense in Denver, and he was well worth $9. Benn, Goodson, Dickson, and Morgan were all worth taking fliers on. Phillip Rivers, given the prices of Brees, Rodgers, and Vick, was good value at $43.

Worst Value: Most everyone else. Brandon Jacobs is a touchdown vulture and $28 is too much for that kind of guy (unless Bradshaw gets hurt and Coughlin doens’t like the guys behind him), Santana Moss scares me this year, being older, slower, and with QB questions, and Lloyd is due to fall back to his median.

Outlook: Second only to Peyton’s owner, this team needs Manning to get back under center, because Wayne and Clark won’t meet their value without him. Your #1 RB is Brandon Jacobs, your #2 RB is Willis McGahee, both of which aren’t even starters on their teams. I’m having a rough time convincing myself that this team will do anything other than hang out at the low end of the middle of the pack.

Living Through Them

  1. Jermaine Gresham - $2
  2. Dez Bryant - $48
  3. LeSean McCoy - $55
  4. Greg Jennings - $43
  5. Matt Schaub - $35
  6. Greg Little - $6
  7. Atlanta - $2
  8. David Garrard - $2
  9. Bernard Scott - $1
  10. Donald Brown - $1
  11. Donnie Avery - $1
  12. Fred Davis - $1
  13. Nate Washington - $1
  14. Jerricho Cotchery - $1
  15. Patrick Crayton - $1

Best Value: When you pay $48 for Dez Bryant, $43 for Greg Jennings is a good get. Those $1 guys were all worth … about a dollar.

Worst Value: When you pay $43 dollars for Greg Jennings, $48 for Dez Bryant seems a tad overpriced. LeSean McCoy isn’t the 4th best RB in the NFL. All Day went for less.

Outlook: Another studs and scrubs team that I don’t like. I think Jenning’s numbers drop off this year thanks to Finley, Dez is a big money investment for so much risk, and you could have done much better than McCoy who will lose TD’s by the bunches. Also, your scrubs do nothing to excite me whatsoever.

Unrelated Siblings

  1. Michael Vick - $50
  2. Cedric Benson - $35
  3. Joseph Addai - $28
  4. Domenik Hixon - $3
  5. Maurice Jones-Drew - $54
  6. Roy Williams - $14
  7. New York - $5
  8. Deion Branch - $4
  9. Rob Bironas - $1
  10. Heath Miller - $1
  11. Cecil Shorts - $1
  12. Jay Feely - $1
  13. Justin Forsett - $1
  14. Tampa Bay - $1
  15. Carson Palmer - $1

Best Value: Deion Branch averaged about 5 catches a game last year with the Pats and is a great value at $4.

Worst Value: Vick at $50. And you backed him up with a guy who isn’t playing football anymore. Oofa. Roy Williams has looked like garbage this preseason and isn’t worth $3 let alone $14.

Outlook: Your WR crew is Roy Williams, Domenick Hixon, and Deion Branch. That is beyond ugly. Still, if Vick puts up the kind of numbers he did last year over the entire season (hint: he won’t) and MJD stays healthy, you’ll have an amazing team of two. I don’t think that will get you much, but, hey, I’ve been wrong quite a bit before.

The Gusterrhoids

  1. Adrian Peterson - $53
  2. Arian Foster - $58
  3. Chris Johnson - $60
  4. Hines Ward - $11
  5. Donovan McNabb - $7
  6. Derrick Mason - $1
  7. Garrett Hartley - $2
  8. Kansas City - $1
  9. Donald Jones - $1
  10. Jordan Cameron - $1
  11. Joe McKnight - $1
  12. Christopher Ivory - $1
  13. Indianapolis - $1
  14. Blaine Gabbert - $1
  15. Derek Hagan - $1

Best Value: Easy. Peterson for $53. I went to bed last night kicking myself for letting that one go. Steal of the Draft.

Worst Value: CJ2K. He might be worth $60, but when you already spent almost all your money on AllDay and Arian, you’re wasting a lot of starting spots.

Outlook: As I said, it will be fascinating to watch this team. It is the epitome, nay, the very essence, of studs and scrubs. Can 3 players win you a championship. I don’t think so. But if they can, it’s these three. It will be fun to watch.

Hamlets Out of Ideas

  1. Michael Turner - $54
  2. Frank Gore - $51
  3. Stevie Johnson - $26
  4. Eli Manning - $16
  5. Mike Thomas - $13
  6. Michael Bush - $12
  7. Aaron Hernandez - $7
  8. Nate Kaeding - $2
  9. Zach Miller - $4
  10. Rex Grossman - $6
  11. Jacquizz Rodgers - $2
  12. San Francisco - $2
  13. Brandon Gibson - $2
  14. Isaac Redman - $1
  15. Eric Decker - $2

Best Value: Eli Manning. I hate the guy, he throws too many picks, and he’s a arrogant prick. But for $16, I’ll take him every day and twice on Sunday. I also like the price on Brandon Gibson and Mike Thomas to help me out in the passing game.

Worst Value: Rex Grossman. I was desperate for a backup QB. And he’s not a very good one either.

Outlook: I liked Gore’s value so much it tied my hands for the rest of the draft. I think I did OK putting together some high upside guys at lower prices to fill in the blanks, but everybody usually thinks that. I like Bush’s upside, Hernandez’s situation, and my cheapo flier guys. But this team is all about Michael Turner and Frank Gore. If they can stay healthy and produce for me, I’m in good shape.

Except I’m a GIANTS fan. That’s why I took Tynes (as every other Giant went for more, sometimes far more, than their worth, except for Eli and it was too late to bid on him for me).

Oops. Sorry.

That’s an odd criticism, and one I’ve never heard before. When I think of arrogant pricks, I think of guys like Philip Rivers and Jay Cutler and their little pissing matches they used to have when Cutler was in Denver, and I think one of them even flipped off the fans. I’m having trouble thinking of a single instance when Eli was either arrogant or a prick.

Thanks for doing this, it must’ve been a lot of work. I pretty much agree with everything. I grabbed the extra TE because their going value was so close to their projected value, which wasn’t true for many other players, but as far as team composition goes it was definitely a mistake.

I am surprised that you think I have a QB problem, but that is probably just me comparing it to previous years. In 2009 I had only drafted Chad Pennington with no backup, and in 2010 I had Kevin Kolb with no backup. I can sure pick QBs who will be injured, and not draft them a backup

Thanks, Hamlet.

I agree with your assessment. Moss was probably a waste of time, but i figured that maybe he’d decide to return for another season. Plaxico was a bit of a flyer, but i’m hoping he can make a productive comeback.

Marcedes Lewis may have been overpriced, but if McCown can get going, maybe he’ll get some action. And if Boss gets and stays healthy, he’s a good guy to have in reserve.

Also, surprised you didn’t call me out as a Packers homer, what with Grant, Finley, and Jones

Probably this: Eli Manning: I’m in class with Tom Brady

Otherwise, I got nothing. He can’t be more softspoken.

That’s the most recent one I had in mind, yes.

Am I the only one who remembers the 2004 NFL draft, and Manning’s refusal to play for the team that drafted him? How is that not arrogant and prick-like? And how could you not have heard that before?

That’s not exactly what happened. Before the draft, he stated publicly that he didn’t want to play for the Chargers and would sit if he was. He never actually refused to play for them after he was drafted as the Chargers already had a trade in place with the Giants beforehand.

Still prick-like, but I don’t think it makes him a total bad guy.

  • Caveat: I’m a Giants fan.

Eli always just seems very socially awkward. More so then a prick.

Thanks for all the reviews Hamlet. I thought you might appreciate one for your team.

Hamlets Out of Ideas

  1. Michael Turner - $54
  2. Frank Gore - $51
  3. Stevie Johnson - $26
  4. Eli Manning - $16
  5. Mike Thomas - $13
  6. Michael Bush - $12
  7. Aaron Hernandez - $7
  8. Nate Kaeding - $2
  9. Zach Miller - $4
  10. Rex Grossman - $6
  11. Jacquizz Rodgers - $2
  12. San Francisco - $2
  13. Brandon Gibson - $2
  14. Isaac Redman - $1
  15. Eric Decker - $2

Big Picks: Eli is a freakin’ steal at $16. He’s not Aaron Rodgers (or even Matt Ryan), but at $16 you got great value. And Michael Turner is a steal at any price, but he went right in line with the rest of the top shelf RBs.

Misses: That said, $51 is too much for the injury-prone Frank Gore. When his wheels fall off around week 8 you’ll be kicking yourself that you didn’t jump on the more durable Jamaal Charles.

I Liked: The Rex Grossman pick. Yeah, Sexy Rexy isn’t what you’d call an elite quarterback, but you’ve got two starters, which is more than most of the league can say.

Outlook: I agree with your assessment. Michael Turner and Frank Gore will make or break this team. Throw in Eli and you’ll likely be in the hunt all year.

I do, thanks.

I had my eye on the RB’s in the 5 to 7 and spending about 55, so I was happy to get Turner.

I would’ve preferred Charles, but he was $60 earlier, and Gore was cheaper later. I really wanted to get Kendall Hunter, but he went for too much and is only one of two fill in’s if Gore goes down. Gore’s supposedly healthy (for now).

I was targeting guys like Cutler and Fitzpatrick for my backup, but buying those two RB’s left me too few dollars left for my backup QB position. I’m not sure Grossman will survive as a starter.

I hope so. I wanted to try to walk the thin line between “studs and scrubs” and “middle of the road”, so I got two hopefully stud guys and value guys. We will see.

So, I don’t really want to start trouble or anything, but I think Randall Cobb should be put back on waivers under this rule. I was actually up at 2am pst because the San Diego power outage ended and turned on all my lights, and thought about grabbing him, but didn’t because of this rule.
