SDMB Big League FF 2010

I get to win this week because my opponent Up by Three started a bye week QB. Looks like there were no starters available on waivers or his roster.

I feel for you. If you hadn’t started a Defense at all, you would have beaten me.

In Week 1, i had the third-highest score and still lost.

This week, i had the third-lowest score and still won.

If anyone needs a starting QB for this week, I’ll trade either Matt Moore or Christian Ponder for a starting RB or TE for this week.

If you mean swapping and then swapping back, we discussed a few years ago that it would probably be bad for the league, and that people should suffer the consequences of choosing to draft depth or not. It’s fine if you actually make a trade that involves a bye week fill in - but it has to be a normal trade that you’re doing to improve your team in general, not a collusive trade/trade back arrangement.

Nope, this would not be a swap for one week. I’ve got 3 starting QBs on my roster so I can afford to trade one.

Ah, cool. I thought your “for this week” phrasing might’ve suggested that’s what you meant, and I just wanted to clear that up.

I’d like to shake my fist at Living Through Them. Whenever I read some football news and think that that player would be a good pickup, it almost always turns out that player is on Living Through Them.

Decisions, decisions. I’ve got a two game lead in my division, but a bad bye/QB suck week with Grossman being benched. Do I trade some depth for a fill in QB, drop my top 5 defense for roster space, or do I suck it up and take a likely loss?

Loss here I come.

I know the feeling. This week is definitely going to be a Loss for me but I am hoping that it will at least be somewhat sporting. Maybe Gould will have another monster week and help make up for the gaping holes in my lineup.

Compliment accepted, and thanks. I need to do something to counteract how poorly I usually draft. Usually, it just ends up with me doing things like hideously overpaying for Jonathan Dwyer, thinking the Steelers would give Mendenhall a break against the mighty Jaguars with the bye following after that. Nope.

Sigh. I will laugh hysterically if Detroit’s only rushing touchdown this weekend come from Stafford. Oh well, it beats losing to the robo-draft team.

I’ll trade you either Pondor or Gabbert for Mike Thomas.

Hey, the robo-draft team has Chris Johnson, Arian Foster and Adrian Peterson. I was in damn good shape before two of the three decided this year would be a fine time to suck.

You’re not kidding. I have Johnson in another league, and it wasn’t even a robo-draft; i was there, and i picked him. But he has been completely fucking useless.

Meh. I picked up Boller and will sacrifice the defensive spot rather than the QB. Thomas isn’t great, but he’s worth more to me as an every week start than a one week starting QB. Thanks though.

Those were your values though weren’t they? I hadn’t seen an autodraft grab those guys at those values, so I had assumed you had them all rated higher in value.

Hence the problem with overpaying for “studs”.

Nah, I wasn’t talking about this year’s robo-team. I lost to the pathetic one last year. My own damn fault for believing in Favre, among other blunders.

As I recall, the prices on AP and CJ weren’t too bad? In a vacuum, and as Hamlet pointed out in his post-draft review, you’d much rather have All Day for what you paid instead of LeSean McCoy for what I paid. FWIW, I’ve been delighted with McCoy. So much of this is a crapshoot. On that note, I’m really hoping that Alex Smith reminds everyone real soon that he still sucks, and Kapernick gets the keys. Doubt the Browns can do it, but maybe the Skins or Giants?

CJ was $60 and AP was (as Hamlet pointed out) a steal at $53.

This is definitely a crapshoot. If I had been at the draft, I would held off on CJ and drafted Jamaal Charles for $60 instead (which is what he went for). I would have been in for a very long season if that had happened.

Oh, I almost forgot. Beef, I’ve got a gametime decision for this week.

If Sam Bradford is inactive, I’d like to start A.J. Feeley.

Well, i’m fucked this week.

I lost one of my RBs to a brain tumor, and now Peyton Fucking Useless Hillis is out for today’s game.

If anyone needs WRs in the upcoming week, i’m looking to trade for a RB.

I was worried about not having a QB on Alex Smith’s bye week, so I scraped the bottom of the barrel and picked up Charlie Whitehurst. Negative points. Better to have just left it empty…
